Bible on corporal punishment for children

Proverbs 13 vs. 24

He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.

Proverbs 23 vs. 13

Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.

Proverbs 29 vs. 15

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Proverbs 29 vs. 17

Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

  1. The Bible supports correcting children or punishing them with strokes of cane.
  2. You are not doing your son any good by sparing the cane.
  3. The cane is a rod of correction; use it Ā when necessary on children.
