  1. The Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy has four chapters
  2. We shall study chapter 1Image result for Bible study: 2 Timothy1
  3. This book was written by Paul to Timothy who he described in Chapter 1 vs 2 as his beloved son. The contemporary practice of having spiritual fathers and sons is therefore biblical.
  4. May God give you a Spiritual father in the order and spirit of Paul in Jesus name
  5. May God give you spiritual sons or children in the order and spirit of Timothy in Jesus name
  6. May your spiritual father not lead you astray in Jesus name
  7. Chapter 1 also hints qualities of spiritual fathers. Apart from counselling, and guiding their spiritual children, a good spiritual father always intercedes for his spiritual children.
  8. Paul said he is constantly interceding in prayers – verse 3, for his spiritual son- Timothy. These days spiritual father are more interested in what they can gain financially from their spiritual children, rather than building them up spiritually and standing in gap for them in prayers
  9. May the Holy Spirit dissociate you from every fake spiritual father in Jesus name
  10. I dissociate myself from every wrong spiritual father in Jesus name
  11. Holy Spirit lead me to a spiritual father you desire for me in Jesus name
  12. In verse 5, we see that one of the ways we can receive the Holy Spirit is by the laying of hands. Timothy received the Holy Spirit when Paul laid hands on him
  13. May God lay his invisible hands on you, receive the Holy Spirit in Jesus name
  14. Verse 7 is a memory verse..God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and of self-control
  15. Christians should be filled with the Holy Spirit, manifest the supernatural power of God, be bold and courageous, confident of who they are in God, love their neighbours, and have self-control of worldly lusts
  16. I cast out the spirit of fear in you in Jesus name
  17. I cast out the spirit of greed in you in Jesus name
  18. Receive the faith of Joshua in Jesus name
  19. Receive the power of Samson and Paul in Jesus name
  20. In verse 8 Paul encourages Christians to be willing to suffer for the spread of the gospel. Christianity is not just about attending church services, `entertainment, dancing, but also taking the cross of Jesus and suffering its shame and glory.
  21. In verse 10, we were reminded of one of the missions of Jesus Christ, to pay for the Adamic sin, and abolish death.
  22. I shall not die prematurely in Jesus name
  23. I shall live and reign for ever with Christ in heaven in Jesus name
  24. In verse 11, Paul describes himself as an Apostle, Teacher, and Preacher.
  25. Holy Spirit train me and make me an Apostle, Teacher, and Preacher of the gospel in Jesus name
  26. In verse 16, we heard of the household of Onesiphorus who was always refreshing, supporting, identifying, and partnering with Paul’s ministry.
  27. May your household refresh men of God in Jesus name
  28. May God bless every household refreshing Save the World ministry and May God raise more Onesiphorus for Save the World ministry in Jesus name
  29. Holy Spirit give me the vision and ministry of the household of Onesiphorus in Jesus name#

Prayer: How to hear from God

Posted on Updated on

 By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee” (Ps 39:7)

Read: Psalm 42:3-5

Prayer cannot change God but it can change people, circumstances and turn doubt into trust, fear into faith. Prayer can also move obstacles and turn weakness into strength. As you pray this season, may these possibilities of prayer be your personal experience. Another thing prayer can do is change hopelessness to hope. When you enter God’s presence and pray, if your hope was lost, it would suddenly be replaced.

How is this possible? Each time you pray, you also have the opportunity to hear from God. Many of us see prayer as a one-way traffic, hence we hardly receive what we should in His presence. When you pray, always create time to listen for feedback. Have you ever visited your bosom friend, and you did all the talking without the fellow contributing?

As soon as some say Amen, they are off. They do not even give God the opportunity to respond. He might want to tell you that the problem is not with your wife, or staff but with you.

“And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee” (Ps 39:7). God is the source of hope. Whenever you lose hope on any issue, go to Him for restoration. Prayer is the channel through which hope is restored to you. A brother was involved in a particular business.

Although he earned a living through it, he was however unhappy doing it. He could not tell many people exactly what he was doing. When he met customers and told them that he was a believer, they would ask: ‘If you are a Christian, why are you into the sale of this particular product?’ He was disturbed but remembered he got God’s approval as well as sought counsel from his pastor before entering into it some years before.

At some point, he began to seek God’s face for a change. He took his hopeless situation to God in the place of prayer and told God to bring about a change. He said, “Lord, just as it is a thing of shame to tell people what I do for a living today, give me something to do that I can be proud to tell everyone about”. He kept praying.

Today, what God gave Him to do is so special and appreciated all over the world, that he finds himself hiding it from people so that they do not hero worship him. God moved him from one extreme to another. There is a user of this Devotional who is ashamed of what he or she is doing but feels hopeless about it. Your change has come. Something honorable is replacing the former job. Remember to thank God and testify of it.

Ask God to address the root cause of your secret tears and regrets.

Is it right to be angry with God

Memorise: “Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherd of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?” (Is 45:9)

Read: 2 Kings 2:13-14

“Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherd of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?” (Is 45:9).

In 2 Kings 5:11-12, when Elisha did not meet any of Naaman’s expectations, Naaman blew his top. In his rage, he set out to return to his home country, but for the timely intervention of his servant. Anyone who is angry with God is merely wasting his time. It is very dangerous to be angry with God or His servant.

Some people are angry with God because He has not answered some of their prayers. It is only a fool who will be angry with the Almighty God. It is possible you have been tempted to be angry with God at one time or the other. Whenever this temptation comes, know that your miracle is at your door step.

The devil has seen the miracle being released from Heaven, and so he tries to prevent you by sowing seeds of doubts and anger in your heart. No matter how bad things appear, never get angry at the only One who can help you.

Naaman compared the rivers in Syria with river Jordan. Due to the operations of false prophets, several rivers where their victims are washed, have become demon transferring locations. Anyone who asks you to bathe by the river before your problem would be solved is a false prophet. They will end up turning that single problem into a hydra-headed monster. God had a reason for choosing river Jordan. This is one river that had witnessed several miraculous encounters.

In Joshua 3:14-17, this river parted for Joshua when it contacted the anointing of Moses that was transferred to Joshua. Also, it parted for Elijah (2 Kings 2:6-8) and Elisha (2 Kings 2:13-14). Much later, it was in this same river that the Lord Jesus Christ was baptized and as He came out, the Heavens opened unto Him (Matt 3:13-17).

Whenever God asks you to do something in a particular way, even when you do not understand, do it as long as you are sure it is God. His choice may not always be popular, but you can never get something better. Today, you do not need to go to river Jordan but to the fountain filled with the blood of Jesus.

In which areas have you been angry with God or holding a grudge against Him? Repent and settle with Him now. He who fight God is a loser.

Jesus as wonderful counselor

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety” (Prov 11:14)

Read: Proverbs 19:20-21

By Pastor Enoch Adeboye

Isaiah 9:6 calls Jesus the Wonderful. Another reason He is so named is because there are certain situations or events that ordinary strength, understanding or ability cannot contain. At such a time, He can bring to bear His infinite supernatural strength, wisdom and ability. In that situation which appears above your understanding or ability, the Wonderful will enter in and give you beyond your heart’s desire in Jesus’ Name.

In Daniel 6 , the whole world thought an end had come for Daniel. That night, those behind the plot were celebrating their feat in getting the king to do what he never wanted done. To them, Daniel’s relevance had ended that night. But unknown to them, Daniel communicated with the Wonderful.

By the following morning, the world awoke with open mouths to see Daniel alive. Not only that, those who plotted against Daniel became food for the lions. Anyone who is plotting your fall shall encounter the Wonderful today and end up in the belly of lions.

Another name the Lord is called in Isaiah 9:6 is Counsellor. A counsellor is the one you go to when you do not know what to do next. Counselling is very important in the life of every believer. Counselling may be required before every crucial decision is made. The quality of decisions you make will be determined by the strength of advice received.

The quality of the advice you receive is a function of the experience and training of your adviser. There are good and bad counsels. Psalm 1:1-3 forbids believers from receiving counsel from unbelievers. If you make an unbeliever your adviser, he may cause you to go astray in the name of advising you. Psalm 106:43 says whenever you take advice contrary to God’s Word, you provoke God to work against you.

For instance, when you are advised to go into premarital sex with your partner in order to test her ability to bear children and you take it, you violate God’s Word that says, ‘Thou shalt not commit adultery’. As a consequence of this, you will be humbled by God’s judgement. Yet, Proverbs 20:18 says good counsels are the building blocks of any successful plan.

In fact, without it you may not succeed in that plan, project or assignment ( Prov 11:14). Do you know you require counselling to succeed in business, academics, ministry, family, career, etc.? This is why you need to know Jesus as The Counsellor. To what extent has He revealed Himself to you as the Counsellor?

Until you cut off from ungodly counsels and counsellors, you may never experience Jesus as the Counsellor.

Blessings of waiting on God

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured” (Prov 27:18)

Read: Isaiah 40:29-31

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (Is 40:31). Although prayer cannot change God, it can however change weakness to strength. The above verse says there is exchange of strength by waiting on the Lord in prayer.

This means, whenever you access God’s presence, go with all your frailties, weaknesses and failings. Go in as an empty vessel that is ready to be filled. Never enter His presence with the notion that you have it all, that you have arrived or that you do not really need Him: You may lose what you think you have and return empty! How do we wait on the Lord?

When you visit a five star hotel, a waiter or waitress waits on you to take your orders and make you comfortable. It is the duty of the waiter to wait on you. He or she is paid to do so. If you complain about what was served, it is his duty to see that it is changed. Even if you are a small boy, the waiter will put up his best and say: ‘Yes sir’ to your orders and smile because he knows you are going to pay for it.

When you wait on the Lord, you are to be the waiter and He your guest. Serve Him only what He likes and not what you like. Unfortunately, because many of us do not understand what it means to wait on Him, we turn Him into the waiter and we the guest. We would barrage Him with orders: “God, I want this, I want that.

Don’t forget what I asked for yesterday and the previous day. Ensure my provision is ready for today. Lest I forget, do not allow any evil to cross my path today – that is, be a good security guard to me. I hope you heard all I have said?” At the end of the day, the Lord will ask, “Who’s the waiter here?” When you wait on the Lord, give Him water to drink, food to eat. Give Him praise.

God is the One that should be flattered yet you cannot flatter Him because He is more than what you say He is. He is more than how best you can describe Him. However, tell Him He is good, wonderful and kind. Call Him by His names. If you can do this very well, you will get a tip. A tip from the Almighty is enough to settle you for life. Are you weak? You ought to be in God’s presence.

How you treat God is how you will be treated. If you can wait on God, men will wait on you. If you ignore God, you will be ignored by men.

How to hear from God

Memorise: “And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12).

Read: 1 Kings 19:9-12

Whenever God sends a message, always remember that the message is greater and more important than the messenger or courier. According to Psalm 119:89 , God’s Word is forever settled in Heaven. What has been settled in Heaven cannot be dismantled on earth. When Elisha sent a message through his servant to Naaman who waited outside his house, the captain of the Syrian army was disappointed (2 Kings 5:9-12).

He expected that the man of God would come to him but he did not. He expected that he would lay hands on him but he did not. He also expected him to perform some acrobatic display, at least to convince everyone that he was making attempt to cure the leper, but he did not do this. He argued that even if he had to go to wash in some river, was it not better to go to the neatest which were outside Israel?

God’s solutions do not always follow conventional methods. That God solved a particular problem in a particular way does not suggest that is the only way He would solve such problems. The bottom line is when you give God a problem to solve, also give Him the freedom to choose the mode of solving it. If you expect God to solve that problem through the method you deem best, it will be a surprise if He does not disappoint you.

“And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice” (1 Kings 19:12). When Elijah ran from Jezebel, he sought to meet with God in a cave on mount Horeb. God passed by and a great strong wind tore the mountains into pieces, then an earthquake and a fire: but God was not in any of them.

Today, many believers still feel that until they fall under the anointing or are slain in the Spirit, nothing has happened to them. They want to see some religious gymnastics! It is the presence of God and His Word that make the difference, not the gymnastics. Even some preachers do not know better. While praying for people, some of them deliberately push down those they are praying for whereas by merely speaking the Word, the anointing that will bring about the change is released.

Although laying on of hands is good and biblical, there are many blessings that will come to you through other media. All that is required is for you to release your faith. Faith is key to receiving all your blessings.

Some people fake the anointing, some its effects and others its testimonies. Don’t get caught up in any form of manipulation in the Name of the Lord.

How to please God

Posted on

Memorise: “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God” (Heb 11:5)

Read: Genesis 5:21-24

When Heaven opens, you will begin to hear from above. Your spirit man will easily pick heavenly signals from that moment. The ability to hear God’s voice is so crucial to the average believer that we cannot do without it. If you can hear God’s voice, it becomes difficult for you to miss God’s guidance. One of the blessings I received when I newly became born again was the ability to hear from God.

He told me several things ahead of time, but when I made a mistake one day, He cut off the communication link. I pleaded with Him to a point of making a covenant that He should take me home today if I would backslide tomorrow. One thing you should desire and strongly seek God for this year, is the ability to hear Him.

“And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matt 3:17). When God said this, it went beyond a mere statement. This conveyed divine approval. When Heaven opens to you, you enjoy divine approval. In times past, I used to strive to satisfy men.

Today I know better. The moment you make up your mind to satisfy God, you will have peace. You will no longer fear the criticism of men. And Heaven, not the sky will be your limit. Before Jesus got God’s approval and public proclamation, He totally pleased Him. In Hebrews 11:5 and Genesis 5:24, Enoch pleased God so much that God took him. From this we learn that pleasing God brings about divine translation. Enoch pleased God and he overcame the greatest dread of men – death.

He scaled over death. If only you can please God, you will scale over the greatest, toughest and biggest problems, challenges and difficulties. Pleasing God relocates you from the realm of men to that of God. Show me a believer who is endued with power from on high and reigning over the devil, demons, the flesh and the world, and I will show you a believer who goes the extra mile to please God.

One testimony you must have is that you pleased God. There is a heavenly certificate for pleasing God. Enoch and Jesus have it. You too must. To what extent have you pleased God? If you will please God, you will care about everything He cares about. You will know His dos and don’ts. You will obey Him totally. Everyone who pleases God gets a divine upliftment. One is coming your way.

If you live this earth without Heaven’s testimonial that you pleased God, you have lived for yourself. You were created solely to please Him.

Dealing with your secret sins

 Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another” (Rom 14:19)

Read: Romans 14:16-19

Adam was the king of the earth. His government was blissful, peaceful, glorious and prosperous, but one day, he sinned and lost that government to Satan. Then everything turned upside down. Satan’s government turned men into slaves.

Poverty, isolation, sicknesses, curses, sorrow and death became the norm. One day, God looked down and said, “We have heard of man’s government. We have seen Satan’s government: Let us have God’s government”. To effect this, He sent Jesus Christ to earth (Matt 1:20-21). The first thing Jesus did was to save people from sin, the sin that was transferred from Satan’s government, so that a new government could be established.

The government of Jesus is one of holiness. You cannot be deriving pleasure from sin and remain a part of this Kingdom. It is also a government of restoration. In Genesis 3, immediately Satan took over from Adam, the latter lost everything good and beautiful, including the Garden of Eden. But Luke 19:10 says Jesus came to seek and save the lost. Have you lost joy, peace and righteousness while under the government of Satan? You can have all restored under the Kingdom of Jesus (Rom 14:17).

When the government changed from men to Satan, communion with God was destroyed (Gen 3:9-10). Adam ran from God because he was in sin. A sinner keeps running until he deals with sin and enters the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (Proverbs 28:1).

If you want the communion which existed between you and God to be restored, examine yourself and locate areas of disobedience against God. Repent and make necessary corrections and have a divine restoration. As long as you are sweeping sins under carpet, God may not communicate with you. As long as you retain what He forbids, God can blank out on you like He did to Abraham for about 13 years because he retained Lot. Have you experienced a broken communion with God?

Today, it can be restored. Have you stopped hearing God’s voice? As you deal with its cause today, the Lord will resume Heaven – earth communication with you. Christ’s government is a government of life (Jn 10:10). Are you facing a situation of death? Is something good in your life, family, business or ministry about to die? I speak forth life into it. I stop every intrusion of death. Receive life now in Jesus’ Name. Ask God to restore what you have lost today!

Is any sin under the carpet? Expose and deal with every secret sin.

Jesus the Wonderful Counsellor

Memorise: “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms” (Jer 51:20)

Read: Jeremiah 51:19-24

Jesus Christ is the Wonderful. The implication of this is that He is capable of introducing changes into situations and circumstances in order to obtain a different but desired result.

As the Wonderful, the limits of men is the beginning of His abilities. Have you come to the end of the road on a particular matter? Go to the Wonderful, praise and sufficiently worship Him, and invite Him to give you a pleasant surprise package. You will suddenly discover a way in your wilderness.

“Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms” (Jer 51:20). One of the reasons Jesus Christ is called the Wonderful is so that by the time He reveals Himself to us as the Wonderful, not only would our lives be full of wonders, but that He can use us as agents of His wonders. You can become the Lord’s battle axe. You can become a divine weapon in addition to the ones listed in Ephesians 6:11-18.

A brother was seeking God’s face over a period of time. One day, he dreamt that some people (angels) came to him and began to perform an operation on him. They were trying to take off his physical hand while he resisted vehemently. He thought they were enemies but he was powerless compared with their strength.

Thereafter, they replaced his hand with an iron hand before leaving. He woke up and began to examine his right hand which did not look any different from its physical form but spiritually, it was now made of iron. He was afraid but then the Holy Spirit calmed his fears and explained to Him that a transformation had just taken place to equip him for higher assignments and battles ahead.

In Mark16:17-18, Jesus says if you know Him as the Wonderful, you too will become full of signs and wonders. There is a spiritual kitting taking place. Although you may never have seen yourself wearing shoes, breastplate, belt, helmet, taking a sword, etc., yet that is how you are dressed when you completely obey Jesus and know Him as the Wonderful.

The apostles knew the Wonderful to the point that signs and wonders freely flowed from them (Acts 5:12). To what extent do you know the Wonderful? Not knowing Him as Wonderful amounts to wasting God’s graces.

Lord Jesus, reveal yourself to me as the Wonderful to the extent of making me a wonder to my generation.

Sermon: Remember me O God!

Memorise: In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good” (Eccl 11:6)

Read: Esther 6:1-10

Mordecai heard of a plan to assassinate king Ahasuerus and he exposed it. That was how the life of the king was spared. The good deed was entered into their book of record but no reward was given. One day, after his arch enemy, Haman, had concluded plans to hang him, the king became disturbed.

He could not sleep at night until he searched through their record book and discovered that he was indebted to Mordecai. He did not rest until he paid his debt. One lesson here is that every good seed, sown on good soil has an appointed date to speak. If you do good, it will speak for you. If you do evil, it will speak against you.

But why did the king forget to reward Mordecai at the appropriate time? It is because God knew that his good seed would be needed to spare his life sometime in the future. Some seeds you sow today may not give you an immediate harvest. In fact, some harvests may be divinely connected with your deliverance, salvation or even breakthrough much later in life.

This is why you need to continue to sow. You cannot tell when each sowing effort will deliver its harvest (Eccl 11:1-6). Always ask God to cause your seed to speak for you both now and in the future. Also ask God to use your seeds to avert evil from your path.

There is a day of remembrance. Every child of God is destined for greatness. Heaven has provided for everyone in God’s Kingdom to be blessed. But every- one has his or her time. There is a day of visitation. There is a day of divine remembrance. The day you are remembered for a good deed done, is when your reward for years of unpaid labour will be released.

Unfortunately, some people do not have any good thing they can be remembered for. If Dorcas had not brought joy to the widows around her, she might not have been brought back to life. Her good deeds spoke after her death (Acts 9:36-42). Good seeds are so powerful that they can become your mouth piece or advocate when you are not there. This year, ensure you touch lives meaningfully.

Sow seeds that will speak for you today. Also sow seeds that will speak for you in future. On that crucial day of need, may Heaven remember you. Have you sown a powerful seed which has not yielded any result? Don’t take offence. Mordecai was not offended that no immediate reward came to him for rescuing the king.

It is possible your seed has gone ahead of you to deliver its harvest on a day you will need it most. Just thank God.

Ask God to cause your past and present seeds to trigger for you divine remembrance.

Choosing a life partner according to Bible

 By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons” (Psalm 16:7)

Read: Psalm 16:7-10

“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps” (Jer 10:23). The right choice of a marriage partner is not in the one taking the decision, but in God. One very challenging choice a believer has to make is who will be his or her marriage partner.

When five brothers propose to a sister, how would she know whom to pick? What if only one brother proposes in a long time: Does that mean she should say ‘yes’ to him? This is why you should not choose by yourself, or by your senses but let God do it for you. Over the years, God has been choosing for several Christians. One thing is that when God chooses for you, you will have no regrets.

Do not expect the person chosen to be perfect. If you are not perfect, why do you want a perfect partner? It is okay to spell out conditions or qualities you desire in your partner. But God may not necessarily meet all those conditions. When God chooses for you, it is entirely in your best interest.

“For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness” (Heb 12:10). God will not give you a partner that will take you out of His presence. One way of knowing God’s choice is that after marriage, the couple draws closer to God, and walks more uprightly. But anyone who marries and afterwards backslides or grows cold on God, fellowship, or His Word, has most likely missed God’s choice.

In the same vein, when God chooses for you, it is because He wants you to end well. After all, He sees the end from the beginning. Before you say, ‘I do’ at the altar, God knows exactly how that marriage will end. When God chooses for you, He gives you a partner who truly fits you – the bone of your bone, like He did to Adam (Gen 2:23).

The truth is, not every believer can be your partner. God is the God of perfection. If you seek His face and He gives you a partner, receive the fellow with thanksgiving. Some partners prevent their spouses from fulfilling God’s plan for their lives. God will not give you a partner that will hinder you from getting to where He is taking you. When God chooses for you, He will personally be there to back you up until you succeed. Let Him choose for you today.

The state of your heart is very important to God when you ask Him to choose for you. If you are not sincere, He may remain detached.

Book of Life: I must make heaven

Memorise: “And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Ex 32:33)

Read: Revelation 20:11-15

“On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king” (Est 6:1).

The story of Mordecai is an interesting one with several lessons for us today. The first thing that comes to mind is that every organized kingdom keeps records. Just as king Ahasuerus kept records of events, so does the King of kings. Heaven has lots of books out of which are some registers for human beings. Revelation 20:11-15 tells us of two sets of books – the book of life and the books of death. Everyone that is born into this world has his or her name in one of the books.

Wherever your name falls is where all your deeds will be recorded. Everyone who is born again and is still living right until time of death can be assured that his or her name is in the book of life. The moment you are washed in the blood of Jesus and become a new creature in Christ, your name enters the Lamb’s book of life (Rev 21:27). It takes your daily living to please Him to sustain your name there. If you return to sin, God has no choice but to erase the name of that fellow from this book.

Also, what will happen to anyone and where the fellow will spend eternity will be determined by which book the fellow’s name is. Every sinner’s name is in one of the books of death, hence, they will be doomed in eternal hell.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Ex 32:33). Even from the time of Moses, it was common knowledge that God had a book where all righteous souls are listed. Are you born again? If yes, congratulations!

It is not enough to have your name in the most important book in the universe. Keeping it there is the challenge. Satan is out to delist your name from that book. That colleague that is mounting pressure on you to compromise with sin, is actually Satan’s vehicle to delist you. Some powerful names have been delisted from that book.

Judas Iscariot and Demas once had their names in that book but were delisted. It is only when your name is there, that you will be entitled to your portion from God’s Kingdom. Do everything in your power to retain your name in this glorious book. Has your name been delisted? Re-enrol today!

Father, frustrate every known or unknown move of the enemy to delist my name from the Lamb’s Book of Life. Lord, fill this year’s Convention with Your presence, power, and miracles. Grant us journey mercies during the Convention.

How to turn your fears into faith

Posted on

 By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them” (Mk 11:24)

Read: Mark 11:23-24

Apart from changing people and turning negative circumstances around, prayer can also change doubt to trust, fear into faith. You are either a doubter or a believer. You either operate by faith or fear. Every doubter is a potential believer. If you can pray, the worst doubter can become the strongest believer. Doubting Thomas is a case in point (Jn 20:24-29). He doubted the resurrection of Christ.

Even after the other disciples confirmed that the Lord truly visited them in his absence, he told them: ‘Except I see His nail pierced hands and sword pierced side, and put my finger through them, I will not believe!’ Later, Jesus visited them again and addressed his unbelief. From that time he resolved to show the world that he was a believer.

Years later, Thomas went to India and was used mightily in signs and wonders. He had turned into a believing Thomas! Is there someone who is doubting your ability to perform? Is someone finding it hard to trust you? You can turn it around by tarrying on your knees in prayer. If you can pay that price in your prayer closet, the same doubter will become your staunchest fan, supporter and heralder.

According to our reading today, prayer can change the place and power of obstacles in our way. God does not change but mountains do, when brought in contact with the appropriate change agent – prayer. In moving any mountain, you must be specific, or else its either all mountains will respond to your call, or none will.

Also, before you take on a mountain standing in your way, you must believe that its time is up, and that it has to move. Repeating the same prayer each day may be an evidence of lack of faith. If you believe that obstacles will move, all you need do is to package the prayer request, and deliver it backed with relevant scriptures only once. That is the prayer seed.

Thereafter, water the seed regularly with thanksgiving. Each time you water that seed with praises and thanksgiving, you make God a debtor. The more you do so, the more God is compelled to grant your request. You can be sure that the One who says ‘Owe no man’ will by no means break His Word. If you follow this principle and it is like it is not working, persist. It could be that you are going through a wilderness experience.

Ask God to turn every doubting Thomas in your family and church into great believers. Also ask that persecutors of the church become the Pauls of our generation.

  1. In Ezekiel chapter 1 vs. 1 talks about open heavens
  2. If Heaven could be opened, it also implies heaven could be closed.
  3. I prophesy against your closed heavens and command it to be opened in Jesus name.
  4. What happens when heavens is closed?
  • There will be prayer failure
  • God will keep silent
  • There will be spiritual confusion.
  • There will be spiritual bareness, drought and stagnancy
  • There will be spiritual blindness
  • There will be spiritual defeat
  • The enemy will rejoice
  • Bondages and captivity will become rampant

5. What happens why heaven become opened?

  • You will see visions of God (vs. 1)Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
  • You will receive divine revelations to bring you out of captivity and bondages
  • The hand of the Lord shall be upon you ( 3) – The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.

  • You will see the fire of God ( 13) – As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.
  • You will see the glory of the Lord ( 28) – As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

Ezekiel 1 1

  • You will hear the voice of God ( 28) – As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.
  • You will see the spirit of God ( 12) – And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.
  • You will see the hosts of heaven ( 15)Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.

  • You will hear the voice of the Almighty ( 24)And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
  • You will see the throne of God ( 26)And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

  • You will hear the hosts of heaven ( 24) – And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.
  • You will see Jesus ( 26) And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

Be fruitful and multiply- Genesis 1 vs 28

And God blessed them

Genesis 1 vs. 28 – Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” NKJV

There are several lessons of this passage

  1. You have been blessed by God before you were born
  2. If God has blessed you no man can curse you
  3. God gave you five commandments for your life
  • Be fruitful
  • Multiply
  • Fill the earth
  • Subdue it
  • Have dominion.

Image result for Genesis 1 vs. 28

  1.   Be fruitful: Fruitfulness means being productive. Fruitfulness means doing something profitable. Fruitfulness means being a blessing to yourself, your family and to others.
  • I curse every seed of unfruitfulness in your life and speak to the labour of your hands to bear fruits in Jesus name.
  1.   Multiply: Multiplication is geometric increase. The mind of God for us is not to increase in numbers by two or three but to multiply in leaps.

When Jesus turned the bread meant for one person into food eaten by five thousand with leftovers, the power of multiplication was at work.

  • I provoke the divine power of multiplication to manifest in your situation in Jesus name.
  • I speak woe to the spirit of snail speed over your life, and command a speedy increase in Jesus name.
  1.   Fill the earth: Filling the earth means our star should shine across the earth to the glory of God. Christians are supposed to be champions rather than losers, players rather than spectators, news makers rather than news readers. We need to work hard, be productive and pray towards achieving this goal.
  • I speak success, excellence and distinction to every work of your hands and break limits and restrictions to your divine manifestation in Jesus name
  1.   Subdue: Subdue means we need to overcome challenges. We need to overcome storms. We need to break the chains of oppression and walk in liberty. This calls for divine knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

David  was able to subdue Goliath. God is calling us to subdue sin, subdue poverty, subdue sickness and subdue failure.

  • I pray that the anointing to subdue every contrary situation shall fall on us in Jesus name.

  1.   Dominate: Christians are meant to be Kings and Queens. Dominion means comfort, splendour, peace, joy and victory. Christians are Christ ambassadors on earth and overcomers or conquerors; as such we should manifest these divine attributes.
  • The impartation to dominate life challenging situations, receive it today in Jesus name.

Before a Christian can fulfil these divine attributes – Replenish, Multiply, Subdue and Dominate, he/she has to be a child of God.

I encourage you to dedicate and surrender your life to Christ today, flee from all sins, live in complete holiness, serve God and as you do that, divine power to multiply, replenish, subdue and dominate shall fall on you in Jesus name.

Babatope Babalobi: + 2348035897435 babalobi@yahoo.com

Proverbs 23 vs. 26 – My son, give me thine heart…”

  1. Daily we all pray to God to give us our needs. This is quite biblical and scriptural.
  2. Our prayer every day to God is mostly about requesting one thing or the other from God.
  3. Our prayer requests most times is requesting God to give us something
  • God give me a husband
  • God give me a wife
  • God give us children
  • God give me house
  • God give me money
  • God give me car
  • God give me visa
  • God give me job
  • God give me clothes
  • God give me.., God give me…,God give me….is a recurring decimal in our prayers
  1. The interesting thing is that any good relationship is not a one-way traffic.
  2. Relationship has to be mutually benefitting.
  3. Just as we want God to give us various things, God also want something from us.
  4. There is something God wants you to give him today, will you be willing to give Him?
  5. We may have various prayer requests before God, but God only have one prayer requests for us
  6. We may want God to give us several things, but God wants just one thing from us
  7. There is something God wants you to give him today, are your ready to give Him?
  8. We want clothes, money, house, job, husbands etc from God…but He also wants something from us. Just one thing.
  9. Let’s look at what the Bible says

Image result for Proverbs 23 vs. 26 – My son, give me thine heart…”

Proverbs 23 vs. 26 – My son, give me thine heart…”

Heaven is lamenting that several of us have giving our heart to several other gods.

Who have you given your heart?

What have you opened your heart?

How have you given other gods your heart?

I refuse to give my heart to Satan

  1. Many people have given their heart to football. A lot of people have given their heart to Manchester United (Red devils), Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona football clubs their heart. There are ready to sacrifice anything for their idol clubs and stars.
  • I cut your heart from the god of soccer in Jesus name.

How have you given other gods your heart?

  1. Have you given your heart to mobile phones instead of God? T. Are you attached to phone more that the Bible? Do you spend more time on phone more than on prayer? Don’t become too much attached to your phone, that affects your relationship with God and man.

How have you given other gods your heart?

  1. Have you given your heart to Television programmes, movies, and films… Hollywood, Nollywood, and Bollywood? TV programmes like Nigeria can become your idol when you waste productive time watching unproductive programmes. Is there any TV programme you cannot do without watching? How have you given other gods your heart?

The Bible, a compilation of stories of life, proverbs of wisdom, moral virtues and God’s plan for mankind. Some have read all series of popular Handley Chase, Mills and Booms, whereas, they have not read the Bible thoroughly. Some cannot do without reading newspapers daily, but reading a chapter of the Bible a month becomes a big problem.
  2. Have you given your heart to food:Do you find difficult to fast even till 12 noon once a week? Are you a glutton or cannot take your eyes off from food? Do you eat 24 times a day? Then food has become your god. Unless you kill your flesh and abstain from food and drinks from time to time, your spirit man will not receive the fire of God.
  • Receive your deliverance from the spirit of gluttony in Jesus name
  1. Have you given your heart to worldly music- Hip Pop, R and B, Rap??Some Christians know all kinds of latest worldly songs and sing them all day. The Bible warns about evil communication corrupting good morals.? Do you sing worldly songs rather than praising God? Unfortunately, worldly music and dance has not only penetrated but taken over the church. There are lot of dancing and entertaining churches around

I will serve the Lord

Posted on Updated on

Exodus 23 vs 25: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy read and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee

Joshua 24 vs. 15 – And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD

What is service to God?

  1. Service to God is key to prosperity.
  2. Service to God is the key to divine health
  3. Service to God is key to open heavens
  4. Service to God is the key to divine protection
  5. Service to God is secret to hearing from God
  6. Service to God is the key to divine provision

Those that served the Lord in the Bible

  1. Dorcas, a woman full of full of good works and alms deeds which she did
  2. The Apostles

What Happens when you serve the Lord?

  1. If you serve the Lord, you will receive a net breaking miracle. Peter gave out His boat to serve the Lord and He caught net breaking fishes.

Simon Peter received a net-breaking miracle and you can follow his principle to receive such a miracle. Luke 5 vs 1-5- Peter believed the word. “At thy word, I will let down the net” – 5 – And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.

  1. If you serve the Lord, you will experience the power of resurrection. ..Dorcas was raised from the death because of her service to God-Acts 9:36-41
  2. If you serve the Lord, your head will not reject prayers of Saints, as God will honour prayers said for you. God honoured the prayers of Peter, when he prayed the Dorcas should Arise from the death. Acts 9 vs 40- But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
  3. If you serve the Lord, you will bear fruit in old age. Service to the Lord is an investment and insurance for old age. Ecclesiastes 12 vs. 1- Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say; I have no pleasure in them;
  4. If you serve the Lord, God will bless every work of your hand- Exodus 23 vs 25: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy read and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee
  5. If you serve the Lord, God will shield you from sicknesses. If you are valuable in the hands of the Lord, HE will not allow you to be wasted by sicknesses- Exodus 23 vs 25: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy read and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee
  6. If you serve the Lord, God will make a covenant of prosperity with you and always provide your needs-Job 36 vs 11If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasure
  7. If you serve the Lord, you will never be stranded in life

Isaiah 54 vs 14- 17 – In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. 16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

  1. If you serve the Lord, God will establish you
  2. If you serve the Lord, you will not be oppressed day or night. God commands angels to protect His servants
  3. If you serve the Lord, you will be delivered from fear, God will give you peace of mind
  4. If you serve the Lord, God will mark you for divine protection from terrorists and criminals. You can never be kidnapped, assassinated if you serve the Lord
  5. If you serve the Lord, Evil conspiracy against you will backfire
  6. If you serve the Lord, Your accusers shall be put to shame and silenced
  7. If you serve the Lord, No weapon forged against you shall prosper
  8. If you serve the Lord, Every tongue against you shall be silenced

Isaiah 54 vs 14- 17

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

  1. God will reward you. Hebrews 11 vs 6 – But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
  2. God will prepare mansions for you in heaven

Colossians 3 vs 24 – Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

  1. You will never lack

Mathew 6 vs 33 – But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

How to serve the Lord?

  1. Service to the Lord goes beyond be a church goer.
  2. Service to God means being a labourer for the Lord.
  3. Service to God means being a harvester for God
  4. Service to God is soul winning
  5. Doing the work of an evangelist
  6. Doing the work of a missionary
  7. Using your talent, skills, gifts, time, resources, money to promote and expand the kingdom of God
  8. Every labour you do for the Lord should end up directly or indirectly in winning souls. Any Christian activity that you engage in that does not result directly or indirectly in soul winning is a waste of time, energy, and fruitless. It is not a service to the Lord.
  9. Many Christians are serving Pastors through eye service for positions and rewards rather than serving God.

Choose this day whether to serve the Lord

Joshua 24 vs. 15 – And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

What is the spirit of the Lord?

Posted on

By Babatope Babalobi

Acts 1 vs. 8 – But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

1 Samuel 10:6 The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person

Works of the Holy Spirit

  1. In the beginning, when the earth was void and full of darkness, God used the Holy Spirit to recreate the earth and brought light out of darkness.

Genesis 1 vs 2 – And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

  1. It was this same Holy Spirit that fell upon Othniel the first judge of the Israelites and he was able to deliver Israel from the hands of their enemies Chushan-rishathian the king of Mesopotamia.

Judges 3:10The Spirit of the LORD came on him, so that he became Israel’s judge and went to war.

  1. It was this same Holy Spirit of the Lord that came upon Gideon, causing him to blow a trumpet and he successfully mobilized the Israelites to overcome Medianites that were tormenting and oppressing them.

Judges 6:34Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet

  1. When the Spirit of God came upon Japheth, he was able to confront the children of Ammon who were oppressing the Israelites.

Judges 11:29Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.

  1. Samson was a man who was able to do extra ordinary things when the Spirit of God fell upon him. The Bible recalls that the Spirit of God came mightily upon Samson and he was able to slew thirty men, he killed a lion with his bare hands, and he destroy a stadium with his physical strength Judges 14:19, bringing the whole stadium down, with the jaw bones of an axes, he slew a thousand men, he was able to tear a lion into pieces.

Judges 14:6  And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

  1. When the Spirit of the Lord came upon King Saul, he was turned into another man and started prophesying.

1 Samuel 10:6The Spirit of the LORD will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person

  1. The same Spirit of God came upon David when he was anointed by Samuel and he became transformed from a sheep boy into a king of the nation.

1 Samuel 16:13So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon

  1. In the New Testament, on the day of Pentecost, the Bible recalls that the apostles were visited with the fire of God. They were filled with the spirit of God and they started speaking in new tongues. Therefore, when the spirit of God falls upon you, you will speak in a new language.

Acts of Apostles 2 vs 1– And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

  1. Jesus Himself was visited by the spirit of God. The Bible recalls that after His baptism at river Jordan, He was anointed by heaven; He became full of the Holy Spirit and became led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness,

Luke 4 vs. 1Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into[a] the wilderness,

  1. It was this same spirit of God that visited Mary. It was this same power of Holy Ghost that came upon her turning she who was a virgin into a pregnant woman.

Luke 1 vs 35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

  1. When the Spirit of God fell upon Elizabeth, she conceived even at an old age.

Luke 1 vs 41When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabethwas filled with the Holy Spirit

  1. When the spirit of God fell upon Elijah, he was able to stop rain from falling for three years, he was able to command fire to fall down from heaven, he was able to command rain to start falling again after three years, he was able to run faster than the king who was riding on a horse at a point of death, he was carried into heaven in a wild fire, I Kings and II Kings.

1 Kings 18 vs 46And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

  1. When the spirit of God came upon Moses, he was able to confront and disgrace Pharaoh and his horses and riders,

Numbers 11 vs 25And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease

  1. When the spirit of God fell upon Prophet Ezekiel, God opened his eyes and he was able to see the glory of God

Ezekiel 3 vs 12: Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place

  1. Jesus Christ Himself testify that it was because of the spirit of the Lord that is upon Him that he’s able to preach the gospel, heal the sick, deliver the captives, give sight to the blind and give liberty to those who are in captivities

Mathew 3 vs 16.  16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him oppressed, Luke 4 vs. 8

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

  1. It was this same spirit of God that fell upon Philip taking him away in the wild wind and dropping him in another location.

Acts 8 vs 39 –  When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

Why do we need the Holy Spirit?

  1. Do you need power in your Christian word, then you need the Holy Spirit. The spirit gives spiritual power enabling His carriers to become spirit champions, Acts 1 vs. 8
  2. When you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you become bold and courageous. Apostle Peter was able to preach the gospel to the Pharisees and Sanhedrin because he was filled with the Holy Ghost, Acts 3 vs. 8
  3. The Holy Spirit helps you to pray. The Holy Spirit turns you to a prayer warrior and you are able to touch the heavens with your prayers. The Bible recalls that when the apostles who are filled with Holy Ghost prayed, the place where they were meeting shook and  they  were able to speak the word of God boldly, Acts 4 vs. 31.
  4. The Holy Spirit enables you to see the glory of God. The Bible recalls that when apostle Stephen was being stoned to death, even at that point of death, he looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, Acts 7 vs. 55
  5. The Holy Spirit enables you to see deep mysteries and revelations. It was the Holy Spirit that directed Ananias to visit brother Saul and restore his sight, Acts 9 vs. 17
  6. The Holy Spirit gives you power to do miracles. Ananias was able to restore the sight of brother Saul because of the power of Holy Ghost in him, Acts 9 vs. 17
  7. Jesus Christ started His miracles after the Holy Ghost fell on Him at river Jordan, Luke 4 vs. 1
  8. Apostle Paul who the Bible described as being filled with the Holy Ghost was able to silence Bar-Jesus the sorcerer, Peter was able to shake off the python that had fastened itself on his hand because of the Holy Ghost in him, Acts 28 vs. 5. The Apostles were able to do diverse sign and wonders because of the Holy Ghost in them, and Apostle Paul’s handkerchief and shadow became vessels for miracle because Paul was full of thee Holy Ghost.
  9. The Holy Spirit gives you the spirit of wisdom, understanding, knowledge and direction, Isaiah 11 vs. 2
  10. When the Holy Spirit falls upon you, you become an evangelist, bold, and willing to preach the gospel, to rebuke sin and preach holiness to all the ends of the earth. Micah 3 vs. 8, Luke 4vs. 18
  11. The Holy Spirit gives you the power to overcome temptation. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you cannot backslide or fall into sin. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you will be able to withstand all the temptations of the devil.
  12. If Jesus Christ has not received the Holy Spirit at river Jordan, He would not have been able to withstand the temptation of Satan in the wilderness. Luke 4 vs. 1
  13. The Holy Spirit cancels your losses and bring to pass something that seems hard, impossible and beyond comprehension. Mary a virgin conceived without union with a man.
  14. The Holy Spirit enables you to speak in a language of the spirit, Acts 2 vs. 4

How do you receive the Holy Spirit?

  1. Become born again: When you become born again, you become born of the spirit.
  2. Live a life of complete and uncompromising holiness, run away from all appearances of sin.
  3. Desire the Holy Spirit fervently and strongly
  4. Become completely obedient to the instruction of God.
  5. Be ready to serve God with all your money, time and energy
  6. Overcome these three things, the love of money, the love of women and overcome pride and arrogance
  7. Kill your flesh, kill canal desires and worldly desire. Set your heart on thing of the spirit.
  8. Be filled with the word of God
  9. Pray fervently and always.
  10. Combine prayer with fasting
  11. Become a soul winner: Do the work of an evangelist.
  12. Sing hymns, song and psalms to the Lord, become worshipper.

Posted on Updated on

By Overcomer Babalobi

Isaiah 10:27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Lessons

  1. Your need the anointing to succeed, excel, or to prosper in life
  2. There is a burden that needs to be lifted.
  3. There is a yoke to be broken.
  4. Anything that is against God’s plan for your life is a yoke.
  5. The yokes and burdens in your life was not placed by God.
  6. Every contrary situation is the work of the devil.
  7. Any yoke and burden that you have seen in your life can be broken.
  8. Today is your day of deliverance.
  9. Burdens and yokes can only be broken by the anointing.
  10. The anointing of God is the presence of God.
  11. The anointing of God is the power of God in your life
  12. You can get the anointing of God by studying and meditating on the bible, by fasting, living in holiness and righteousness, by being in the presence of God worshiping him and praising him

What is difference between Spirit, Soul, and Body?

Posted on Updated on

By Overcomer Babalobi

Genesis 2:7And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

  1. Man is made of the dust(body), the breath of God(spirit). and the mind of God(soul).
  2. The most important in the three is my spirit because it’s what makes me alive.
  3. The spirit is like the unseen current in the electrical wire. The soul is the power of the current, and the body is the wire itself and its covering, which is useless when it does not have electrical energy
  4. I must not forget to take develop my spirit, which is by praying, fasting, worshiping God always, by reading is word, and complete holiness.
  5. God relates not with our soul or body, but our spirit.
  6. Before i can deeply and successfully walk with God I must kill my flesh by avoiding worldliness and carnality.

Prayer

  • My spirit, receive fire in Jesus name
  • My body die to sin in Jesus name

Why God does not answer my prayers?

Posted on

Isaiah 65 vs 24: And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

  • God may not answer your specific prayer because He has given you a response before; and He is wondering why you are praying again on the matter.
  • God may not answer you because, He knows you will not like, accept, or believe His response, most likely because you have made up your mind on what to do; and you only want God to rubber stamp your desires.
  • If you involve in evils, wickedness, and idolatry, God says he will not hear your prayers.

Isaiah 65:17 - NIV - “See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor wi...

Isaiah 1 vs. 14-15 –  hate your new moon festivals and your appointed feasts,They have become a burden to Me;I am weary of bearing them.“So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you;Yes, even though you multiply prayers,I will not listen.Your hands are covered with blood.

Isaiah 59 vs. 2Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.-Sin.

Willful sin. Isaiah 59 vs. 2But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

God may not answer because of your sin. The prayers of a sinner is an abomination to God.

  • Read Genesis 31 vs 19: And Laban has gone to shear his sheep, and Rachel has stolen the images that are his father’s.
  • There was a secret sin in the life of Rachel that was only known to her.
  • She stole her father’s idol, and when her father searched for it, she sat on the idol and refused to get up, and said she was experiencing her menstrual cycle. (Genesis 31 vs 35)
  • Rachel’s sin was three in One. She committed stealing by taking images that were not hers; she committed idolatry by having in her possession idols; and she committed lying by claiming she was undergoing her menses, actually she was not.
  • What are the secrets sins in your life that you have refused to confess to anybody? Is it adultery, stealing, masturbation, fornication, idolatry, or pornography?
  1. If you have any material, article or item that belong to Satan, it becomes a legal ground for Satan to attack you. You need to search your house or office and get rid of any satanic possession in your life. It could be a charm, instrument, photo, amulet, medicine or textual material.

Joshua 7 vs. 13 – Up, sanctify the people, and say, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow: for thus saith the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.

  • Holy Spirit reveal to me any accursed object in my possession in Jesus name.
  1. Idolatry is always a cause of unanswered prayers. Have you consulted an herbalist, a false prophet, a magician, an occult, or practice witchcraft in the past? Unless you repent and cut-off your evil past, God will shut His ears from your prayers.

11 Kings 17 vs. 17&18 – 17They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire. They practiced divination and sought omens and sold themselves to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.  18So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left

  1. God may not answer you because he wants to test your patience. If you want a response in a hurry, He may decide to keep silent to build your patience in patience.
  2. God may not answer you because he want you to pass through a wilderness or long suffering experience. This will end up building your christian faith and increasing your testimonies.
  • Genesis 16 vs 1 – Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children
  • Genesis 20 vs 7 –  And Abraham prayed unto God and God healed Abimelech and his wife, and his maidservants and they bare children
  • Genesis 21 vs 1 – For Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age at the set time of which God has spoken to him
  • There are some prayers that remain unanswered because God has refused to answer them.
  • Sarai, the wife of Abraham was barren, yet Abraham was a perfect man before God.
  • Sarai, the wife of Abraham was barren, yet the same Abraham prayed for Abimelech wives and maidservants who were barren, and they conceived and bore children; but the prayer of Abraham for his wife remained unanswered.

  •  Murderer, abortion. – Isaiah 59 vs. 3 – For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
  •  Lies. Isaiah 59 vs. 3For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
  •  Partiality. Isaiah 59 vs.4None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
  • Worldliness. Isaiah 59 vs. 4None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
  • Evil conspiracy. Isaiah 59 vs. 4None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
  • Wickedness. Isaiah 59 vs. 5They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
  • Crime and violence. Isaiah 59 vs. 6Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.

  1. Evil thoughts. Isaiah 59 vs. 7Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
  2. Troublesomeness. Isaiah 59 vs. 8The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
  3. Disobedience. Isaiah 59 vs. 13In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
  4. Deceit. Isaiah 59 vs. 13In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
  5. Prayerlessness. Isaiah 59 vs. 16And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
  6. Tiredness in the altar of prayer – Luke 18 vs. 1 – And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint
  7. Inconsistency in prayer, ON and OFF prayer life – Luke 18 vs. 1 – And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
  8. Lame prayers, unaggressive prayers. God does not answer prayers of gentleman, but those that cry like Violent soldiers – Luke 18 vs. 7 – And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
  9. Failure to pray DAY and NIGHT. You must combine the two – Luke 18 vs. 7 – And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
  10. God may not answer you because you have not prayed hard enough. You dont only need to ask, you have to seek and knock before your prayers could be answered.
  11. God may not answer your prayers because he has allowed Satan to block your prayers as a way of testing your trust and faith in Him. As you remain in faith, He will surely answer you

Matthew 37 vs.46 – And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

  • Quite often at times, we often found ourselves in situation that seems God does not hear our prayers. No matter how much we prayed, fasted or worship
  • In this case, even Jesus Christ complained that God has forsaken Him.
  • Those observing Him were also mocking. “He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now” (vs. 43).
  • In such situation, God expects us to be still and He will manifests Himself as the Lord.
  • God may not answer you because he has really answered you before through dreams, visions, a message, or a word; but you could not interpret or discern
  • God may not answer your prayers, because it is not yet the appointed time.
  • God may not answer your prayers because, granting your request is against His will or it may lead to your spiritual destruction
  • God may decide to forsake you if devil has legal ground to afflict you.

Prayer

  • Mercy of God, replace judgment of God over my life in Jesus name.

Philippians 4 vs 6-7 – 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Mathew 6 vs 25:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Training material for church workers

By Babatope Babalobi

Ezekiel outlines divine instruction for anyone called to be minister

Don’t be lazy, indolent or waster. Stand upon your feet ( vs. 1) – And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

Preach the gospel whether people listen to you or ignore you ( vs. 5)And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

Be bold in the Lord. Don’t fear the enemy (vs. 6) – And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Don’t abandon the work of God ( vs. 8) – But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee

Don’t be silent, open thy mouth and preach the word (vs.8)But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give theeImage result for Ezekiel 2: Guidelines for church workers

Submit to God and obey His will (vs. 7)And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

Sermon/Prayer for divine visitation

Luke 1 vs. 34 – 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

  1. “How shall this be?” were the words of Mary when she was told she will give birth to baby Jesus without sexual relationship with a man
  2. Some of us are asking a similar question wondering how a supernatural miracle will come to pass in our life
  3. Someone that has experienced marital delay is asking: How shall this be that I will get married soon?
  4. Someone sick to death is asking a similar question: How shall this be that I will get healed and recover my strength?
  5. Someone that has been in debts is asking the same question: How shall this be that my credit rating will improve?
  6. No matter your situation, you do not need to ask in disbelief any longer; for
  • The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee – Luke 1 vs. 35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
  • The power of God shall overshadow thee – Luke 1 vs. 35And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Prayer

  • Holy Ghost come upon me now in Jesus name.
  • Power of the Most High God, overshadow me in Jesus name.

Power of prayer

Posted on

Read Luke 9 vs. 28-36 – 28 And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray.

29 And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

32 But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him.

33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

34 While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud.

35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

36 And when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone. And they kept it close, and told no man in those days any of those things which they had seen.

Matthew 7 vs. 13-14 – Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

MESSENGER OR MESSAGE?

Posted on Updated on

  By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8)

Read: Isaiah 40:6-8

In 2 Kings 5:9-12, when Naaman eventually got to the house of Elisha, he felt too big to enter. He stayed outside and waited for the man of God to come and meet him. However, Elisha sent a messenger to him, instructing him on what to do to be cured of his leprosy.

Naaman was furious. He felt humiliated. ‘Who does this so-called prophet think he is anyway? Has he not heard of my name? He feels too big to come out to attend to me, and finally sent a messenger’, he wondered. He decided to return to Syria! Whenever God sends a message through a messenger, one is more important than the other.

The message is God’s Word. God’s Word is the same as God (John 1:1). Therefore God’s Word is more important than the messenger or vessel through whom it is sent. Several believers today are not different from Naaman in this aspect. When they get to church and discover the preacher taking the sermon is not the G.O. or pastor, they will suddenly grow cold on the message.

You will hear some of them say, ‘ I don’t get blessed whenever any other pastor preaches other than my pastor’. This is a mark of childhood. If your reception of God’s Word is dependent on who preaches and who does not preach, you are exalting the messenger above the message.

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8). Today’s reading tells us that long after the messenger has passed away, the Word of God still stands. If you are a true seeker of the Most High, the messenger He uses in communicating with you does not matter. You will joyfully receive the message and act on it.

Today, even when some prophetic utterances are coming directly from the Throne of Grace, some highly learned intellectuals cannot receive it, because they focus on the grammatical errors of the messenger. Some find it difficult to receive a divine message coming through their child, ward or even house help.

If Naaman had not listened to his house help, he would have died a leper. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Concentrate on the Word not the messenger. The messenger can make mistakes being a man, but God’s Word stands forever. Sharpen your reception today!

Father, help me to receive your messages through whatever medium you choose.

DIVINE PRESENCE FACILITATES GOOD WORKS

Memorise: “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10)

Read: Colossians 1:9-11

In Acts 2, after Peter delivered a powerful few minutes’ sermon, he made an altar call and 3000 souls responded. This shows that he was experiencing open Heavens. I have observed that prospering is not so much as the line of business or one’s expertise in one’s field (although these matter) as much as whether Heaven is open or closed to the individual.

If Heaven is open to you, even when all you sell is water, you will stand out and be a multi-millionaire. If it is firewood you are selling, people will stop patronizing others, and all roads would lead to your location. If you are operating a canteen, people will come to ask where you learnt to cook so well.

This season, Heaven will be opened to you. Peter and John had been seeing the lame man at the Beautiful Gate parish for years but could not do anything. But when Heaven opened to them on the day of Pentecost, they met the same lame man at the same location, in the same state, but this time, they had something to offer (Acts 3:1-8). When Heaven opens to you, you will have something to offer to the needy.

Thank God for laying on of hands. Many lives have been dramatically affected through this. The reason some lay hands on your head and nothing happened, is because the hands were empty. Heaven has not empowered them. In Matthew 3:16, not only did the Holy Spirit descend on Jesus, He also abode with Him. Jesus became the permanent residence of the Holy Spirit.

When Heaven opens to you, you will be guaranteed of divine presence which also means divine backing over whatever you embark on. According to Acts 10:38, Jesus could produce good works because God was with Him. If you desire to do good or be full of good works, you must crave the divine presence in your life. Have you been struggling with living the Christian life? Are you compromising with unbelieving colleagues in your office? Is it difficult for you to stand for the truth in the face of compromising believers?

Do you find it difficult to forgive that neighbour who has offended you? You need open Heavens to release the divine presence that can help you do what you cannot ordinarily do. The Lord will open Heaven upon you and empower you to be fruitful in serving Him, living right, and in doing every good work in Jesus’ Name.

Lord, as never before, let me be a carrier of the Holy Spirit.

WHICH SURPRISE PACK?

romans-11-22-660x330Memorise: “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off” (Romans 11:22 )

Read: Romans 11:17-24

Our God is called Wonderful (Isaiah 9:6). He is loaded with awe-causing events – both good and bad and distributes these to people, depending on whether they are friends or foes. He revealed Himself to the Israelites and the Egyptians as the Wonderful, only that each saw His wonders from two different ends.

Another person who knew Jesus as the Wonderful was Peter. In Luke 5:1-11, after exhausting all effort without catching a single fish, Peter encountered Jesus. From the same lake where he could not catch a fish, with the revelation of the Wonderful, Peter’s catch sank two ships. When the Wonderful is involved in your case, where you could not get anything from will be the same place, idea, business, profession or family you will obtain a harvest beyond comprehension.

Peter was so shocked, awe-stricken and dumb-founded at this surprise pack from the Wonderful that he became confused on how to respond. This season, the Lord will release a positive surprise package into your hands that will cause you to open your mouth in surprise in the Name of Jesus Christ.

“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off” (Rom 11:22). God’s goodness is released from His positive wonder packs, while His judgement come from the negative wonder packs. In today’s reading, we are told of the dealings of the Wonderful with both Jews and Gentiles. Initially, God chose to introduce Himself to the Israelites.

He specially chose them as His children and fought against all their enemies. Even when Jesus came, He said He was sent to the lost house of Israel (Matthew 15:24). Also in Acts 1:8, priority was given to Israel. These were all parts of the pleasant surprises from the Wonderful. But when they continued to grieve His Spirit, He cut them off and started dealing with the Gentiles. That was His severity – a negative surprise as far as the Jews were concerned.

Are you a believer? You qualify for pleasant surprise packs from the Wonderful. But if you do not sustain your righteous standing and daily make Him happy, He may show you another aspect of His surprises – judgement. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name. You are the one to determine which surprise package will come to you by your works, thoughts and desires.

Lord, as you visit me with good surprise packs, visit every oppressor of my destiny with negative surprises.
