Ezekiel chapter 1 vs. 1 talks about open heavens

If Heaven could be opened, it also implies heaven could be closed

I prophesy against your closed heavens and command it to be opened in Jesus name

What happens when heavens is closed?Image result for open heavens

  • There will be prayer failure
  • God will keep silent
  • There will be spiritual confusion.
  • There will be spiritual bareness, drought and stagnancy
  • There will be spiritual blindness
  • There will be spiritual defeat
  • The enemy will rejoice
  • Bondages and captivity will become rampant

What happens why heaven becomes opened?

  • You will see visions of God (vs. 1)Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

  • You will receive divine revelations to bring you out of captivity and bondages

  • The hand of the Lord shall be upon you (v 3) – The word of the LORD came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of the LORD was there upon him.
  • You will see the fire of God (v 13) – As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, and like the appearance of lamps: it went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

You will see the glory of the Lord ( v28) – As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake

You will hear the voice of God ( v28) – As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

You will see the spirit of God ( v12) – And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.

You will see the hosts of heaven (v 15)Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces.

You will hear the voice of the Almighty (v 24)And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.

You will see the throne of God (v 26)And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

You will hear the hosts of heaven (v 24) – And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of great waters, as the voice of the Almighty, the voice of speech, as the noise of an host: when they stood, they let down their wings.

You will see Jesus (v 26) And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

Commentary on Luke 5: How to receive a net breaking miracle

Posted on

Read Luke 5 vs. 1-5 – 1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

 Image result for luke 5

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.

Simon Peter received a net-breaking miracle and you can follow his principle to receive such a miracle.

  1. You need divine favour. Peter was not the only fisherman washing his net when Jesus came to the lake of Gennesaret, but Jesus singled him out and approached him. Your miracle shall find you and locate you in Jesus name

  1. Peter was not the only ship owner by the lake of Gennesaret. There were two ships there, but Jesus decided to enter the ship of Peter. The Lord shall enter your ship today in Jesus name.

  1. Peter released his ship to Jesus. There is a ship in your hand, you need to release to Jesus so that you can receive a blessing.

  1. Peter obeyed simple instruction. He was not wise in his eyes. He thrusted out the ship and launched the nets according to the commandment of Jesus. As you obeyed divine instructions, you shall receive net-breaking miracles in Jesus name.
  2. Peter was patient. He waited patiently as Jesus preached from his ship. Jesus sermon inside the ship, could possibly have taken hours. He did not complain. He did not hurry Jesus up, even though he was tired from all night toiling without profits. Impatience shall not cause you to miss your miracle in Jesus name.

  1. Peter believed the word. “At thy word, I will let down the net” 5And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word I will let down the net.

Hold on to the word, and you shall receive a net-breaking miracle in Jesus name.

  1. Peter let down the ship and the net for Jesus. I repeat again that there is something in your hands you need to let down for Jesus to receive a miracle.

  1. Everything obeys the word of Jesus. Even fishes know their creator. The fishes filled the net of Peter at the word of Jesus. What happened was that the fishes heard their creator preaching, and they came to worship Him, and in the process got caught in Peter’s net. As you allow Jesus to enter and use your ship, every material thing- profits, fortunes, goodness and open doors shall pursue you in Jesus name.

  1. You need helpers and partners to overcome recession. Peter had fishing partners that helped me to draw up the net breaking miracle of fishes, otherwise he would have got drown. He had helper fishermen that assisted him to possess his blessings. You need helpers to connect you.

  1. Don’t be greedy. The ship of Peter alone could not accommodate his miracles. He had to call for assistance. If Peter was greedy, his miracle would had sunk him. Be contented when your miracle comes.

  1. Maintain good relationship with others. If Peter did not have good relationship with the other ship owners and fishermen, he would not have received support and his ship would had sunk.

  1. Lastly, when God blesses you, the whole world will know. God’s blessings are in abundance. God’s blessings will make you a blessing to others. Peter affected the fellow ship owner and fishermen with his blessings. His ship alone could not accommodate his blessings, and he had to share his blessings with others. When God blesses you, you shall become a blessing.

  • God of Simon Peter, give me a net-breaking miracle in Jesus name.

How to receive/get a miracle: Break the roof !

Posted on Updated on

Mark 2 vs 1-13 –And when he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.

2 And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them.  And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men.

4 And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. 5 And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” 6 Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts,

7 “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”Image result for Mark 2 vs 1-13

8 And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them,“Why do you question these things in your hearts?

9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’?

10 But that you may know that bthe Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic—

11 “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.”

12 And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

How to receive a miracle: Break the roof

The story of how the Man sick of palsy received healing from Jesus contains several lessons on how to receive a miracle.

1. Have a strong desire. The man could not have been the only one sickly, but he was the only one that overcame all odds to present himself for healing miracle.

2. Present yourself to Jesus. The man knew he needed supernatural intervention to be healed, so he presented himself to Jesus. If you want a miracle, approach the miracle worker.

3. Have extreme faith. The sick man agreed to be taken up the ladder, agreed to be let down a broken roof, and agreed to go through all the pains to receive healing. You need to leave and abandon your comfort zone to receive healing. No pain no gain. You need to go through the pain of studying the Bible, praying without ceasing, fasting, sacrificial holiness, and service to God.

4. Have supporters. Iron sharpeneth Iron. You need people to help you get out of crises. You need more friends not enemies. Who took the man with his sick bed to Jesus, who attempted to bring him to Jesus and failed, who took him up the roof, who broke the roof, who took him down a broken roof without the sick getting injured, who laid the sick man on the bed before Jesus, and who called the attention of Jesus to the sick man? His Friends and family members!  This year you need more friends and associates that will help you come out of crisis.

5. To sustain your miracle you need to run from sin. Jesus told him to go and sin no more. If you go back to sin, Satan will afflict you again

6. Use wisdom . It takes wisdom for the friends/family of the sick man to know they needed to break the roof to receive a miracle.Otherwise the man would have died in sickness

7. Purse your dreams. I am sure the man and his friends would have faced ridicule, oppositions, scorn, and physical pain while climbing and breaking the roof to get to Jesus. Ignore the world, pursue your dreams, and the world will end up celebrating you

  1. I break the roof covering my open heavens in Jesus name.
  2. I break the roof of prayerlessness and sin covering my miracles in Jesus name

romans-11-22-660x330Memorise: “Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off” (Romans 11:22 )

Read: Romans 11:17-24

Our God is called Wonderful (Isaiah 9:6). He is loaded with awe-causing events – both good and bad and distributes these to people, depending on whether they are friends or foes. He revealed Himself to the Israelites and the Egyptians as the Wonderful, only that each saw His wonders from two different ends.

Another person who knew Jesus as the Wonderful was Peter. In Luke 5:1-11, after exhausting all effort without catching a single fish, Peter encountered Jesus. From the same lake where he could not catch a fish, with the revelation of the Wonderful, Peter’s catch sank two ships. When the Wonderful is involved in your case, where you could not get anything from will be the same place, idea, business, profession or family you will obtain a harvest beyond comprehension.

Peter was so shocked, awe-stricken and dumb-founded at this surprise pack from the Wonderful that he became confused on how to respond. This season, the Lord will release a positive surprise package into your hands that will cause you to open your mouth in surprise in the Name of Jesus Christ.

“Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off” (Rom 11:22). God’s goodness is released from His positive wonder packs, while His judgement come from the negative wonder packs. In today’s reading, we are told of the dealings of the Wonderful with both Jews and Gentiles. Initially, God chose to introduce Himself to the Israelites.

He specially chose them as His children and fought against all their enemies. Even when Jesus came, He said He was sent to the lost house of Israel (Matthew 15:24). Also in Acts 1:8, priority was given to Israel. These were all parts of the pleasant surprises from the Wonderful. But when they continued to grieve His Spirit, He cut them off and started dealing with the Gentiles. That was His severity – a negative surprise as far as the Jews were concerned.

Are you a believer? You qualify for pleasant surprise packs from the Wonderful. But if you do not sustain your righteous standing and daily make Him happy, He may show you another aspect of His surprises – judgement. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ Name. You are the one to determine which surprise package will come to you by your works, thoughts and desires.

Lord, as you visit me with good surprise packs, visit every oppressor of my destiny with negative surprises.

Christmas day sermon: Lessons from the birth of Jesus Christ

Christmas sermon: lessons from the Birth of Jesus Christ

Read Mathew 1 and 2; and Luke 1

  1. You shall be rewarded. There is a reward for chastity and purity. Mary would have lost her divine destiny if she indulged in premarital sex during courtship with Joseph. –Mathew 1 vs 18. As you hold on to sexual purity, you shall be rewarded in Jesus name.
  2. You shall be favoured. Mary was favoured. She could not have been the only Virgin in the land, but she was highly favoured among women. – Luke 1 vs 29. I pray you shall attract favour in Jesus name.
  3. You shall be singled out for blessing. Mary was singled out for blessing. God decided to bless Mary with a son of the Holy Ghost. – Luke 1 vs 29. I pray you shall be singled out for blessing among a multitude of men and women in Jesus name.
  4. You shall be promoted. Mary was a house girl, promoted to become ‘mother of God’. The Bible describes her as a handmaid. Luke 1 vs 47.  Yet she was magnified above all women. I pray God shall turn your weakness to strength in Jesus name
  5. You shall not be barren. Bareness is not from God. The Holy Spirit that caused a virgin woman to conceive and bore a son called Jesus, without sexual intercourse, would cause every woman that has a womb or without a womb to be a mother of children. – Mathew 1 vs 18.
  6. Your reproaches shall be rolled away. Jesus rolled away the reproach of Elisabeth. John was born six months earlier, as a forerunner of Jesus. John had to be born earlier because he had a part to play to fulfil Jesus’s ministry. Elisabeth who faced the reproach of bareness for many decades, gave birth to John who heralded the ministry of Jesus. Luke 1 vs 36. As you celebrate Jesus every reproach of bareness in your life shall be rolled away in Jesus name.
  7. Receive faith. Mary was a woman of faith. Mary believed the Angel of God. Luke 1 vs 38. I pray faithlessness shall not deny you a breakthrough in Jesus name.
  8. Your husband shall be a just man. Joseph was a just man. Joseph the ‘father’ of Jesus was described as a ‘just man’. May God give single ladies just men as husbands in Jesus name. – Mathew 1 vs 19
  9. Receive divine visitation and guidance. An Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph. The angel of the Lord shall appear to you today to give you direction and guidance in Jesus name– Mathew 1 vs 20.
  10. Jesus shall save you. His name means saviour. No matter the depth, degree, or nature of sin you have committed in the past, Jesus will save you when you call unto him. Mathew 1 vs 21
  11. God shall not fail you. God does not lie. Jesus’s birth was in fulfilment of prophecy by Prophet Isaiah 9 vs 6; and several other prophets. I prophesy that every good prophecy on you shall come to pass in Jesus name- Mathew 1 vs 22.
  12. God is with you. Jesus means God with us. Anytime you shout the name Jesus, know surely that you are bringing down the attention and presence of God to your situation – Mathew 1 vs 23.
  13. There is a reward for obedience. Adam disobeyed God. But Joseph obeyed God. Joseph would have lost his place in the divine salvation plan of God if he had not obeyed God and agreed to accept a pregnancy he is not responsible for. – Mathew 1 vs 24. Choose to obey God today.
  14. Wise men shall minister to you. Wise men came to look for Jesus. I pray that your destiny shall attract wise men in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 1.
  15. Your star shall shine. The Star of Jesus appeared brightly from the time of his birth and was seen from the East. I pray that you Star shall shine early in your life- Mathew 2 vs 2.
  16. God shall trouble your troublers. Herod was troubled at the birth of Jesus. God shall trouble your troublers in Jesus name. The powers that are sad because of your breakthroughs shall be silenced in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 3.
  17. Follow follow powers shall die. Wise men followed the Star of Jesus for good, but Herod monitored Jesus’s Star for evil. I pray powers following and monitoring your star for evil shall die suddenly like Herod in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 7.
  18. You shall move from poverty to prosperity. Jesus born in a manger, became wealthy from birth as He was presented with precious gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. I pray you Star shall attracted gifts that shall banish poverty from your family in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 11.
  19. You shall move from minimum to maximum. Jesus was born among animals in a manger with swaddling clothes around him. Luke 2 vs 7. This is the humblest of birth, but he ended up being the greatest person that ever lived on earth. It is not your beginning that matters, nor where you are, the power of God shall promote you from the minimum to the maximum.
  20. God will give you space. There was no space for Jesus in the inn. Luke 2 vs 7. Those denying you a space now, shall come back to bow before you in Jesus name.
  21. Prepare for divine visitation. Angels visited Jesus at birth, Luke 2 vs 9. An angel of God shall visit you today and always in Jesus name.
  22. Receive God’s Glory. The glory of God filled the presence of Jesus from birth. Luke 2 vs 9. The glory of God shall overshadow you today and all the days of your life in Jesus name.
  23. God shall deliver you. Herod sought to destroy Jesus from birth. Those seeking your life from birth shall die, the battles of your life from birth, shall expire in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 13.
  24. Your Herods shall die. ‘But when Herod was dead’ Mathew 2 vs 19. The powers that want you dead shall die in Jesus name.
  25. Expect divine direction. Jesus was born in Bethlehem- Mathew 2 vs 1; and was taken to Egypt on divine instruction- Mathew 2 vs 13; and later to Nazareth by divine revelation- Mathew 2 vs 22. I pray that your steps shall be directed by God in Jesus name. You shall not walk amiss in Jesus name.
  26. You shall not be stagnant. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him’. Luke 2 vs 40.
  27. You shall move forward. You shall grow just as Jesus grew. Luke 2 vs 40.
  28. You shall increase. You shall increase in strength just as Jesus increased in strength. Luke 2 vs 40.
  29. You shall be wise. You shall be filled with wisdom just as Jesus was wise. Luke 2 vs 40.
  30. Receive great grace. The grace of Jesus shall be upon you just as Jesus was filled with grace. Luke 2 vs 40.

Prayer point: My star and glory must shine

Posted on Updated on

  By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him” (Matthew 2:11a)

Read: Matthew 2:1-8

birth-of-jesus“And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child: and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also” (Matthew 2:8).

After Jesus was born, some wise men came looking for Him. We want to learn one or two things from this passage. First, the people that came searching for Jesus were no ordinary men. They were the wise men of their day.

In those days, kings depended on the advice of their wise men. These were powerful people who prophesied, explained omens and dark secrets, interpreted dreams and generally practiced divinations. They were well respected and feared by kings because they were of priestly caste.

If a commoner had come to king Herod with the news of the birth of a unique king, he would have laughed it over and gone to sleep. But when these powerful and revered wise men came from a distance with the message, Herod was afraid.

God got his attention through this. He thought, if these powerful priests who were skilled and versed in the study of the stars could leave their country with the intention of worshipping a new born baby king, then, it must be a serious matter. Herod and his men had no rest from the moment the bombshell was delivered.

God knows how to get your attention. Just one unpleasant news is enough to get somebody’s attention. Have you been trying to get somebody’s attention but your efforts never paid off? Is the fellow always complaining of not having time? If you call on the Attention Specialist to intervene, the fellow would suspend everything else just to attend to you.

Whoever has ignored you, your family or desires for so long will have no choice but to attend to you this season in Jesus’ Name. Besides, these honourable wise men decided to see the One the special star announced. There are stars and there are stars. The star announcing Jesus was an unusual one. It was so remarkable that they knew this King was no ordinary king. That He was a child did not matter.

They knew this child was the King of kings. They were determined to go and worship Him: They told king Herod that there is a Super King that kings should worship, and he too promised to do so, although he was not sincere. Are you a king? Are you a man or woman of authority? Then you need to know this King that kings, lords, and great people must worship. If you fail to bow your heart to Jesus, your position or power can be voided.

Go on your knees and worship this Super King for at least one hour.

Memorise: “So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands” ( Psalm 78:72)

Read: Genesis 2:21-22

psalm78In Genesis 24:1-6, not only was Abraham concerned about Isaac’s bride, he ensured his chief servant was put under oath to pick from his home town. For many years, Abraham sojourned in Canaan – the promised land yet when it came to choosing a wife for his son Isaac, he went home. A time to marry is a time to return home – to the Body of Christ.

Every believer has his or her spouse waiting in the Body of Christ, not necessarily in the same denomination. Are you single and trusting God for a husband or wife? Go back to the Body of Christ. Once you have accepted God’s verdict that unbelievers are completely out of it – no matter how intelligent, rich, understanding or compatible the fellow may be, the next thing is to decide whether you want to choose by yourself, through some assistance by men, or you want God to choose for you.

You are free to choose a fellow believer as a marriage partner but there are high risks involved in this. It is possible the fellow you see as very zealous, up and doing and an ideal spouse could be putting up an act, or may be a spiritual weight. Many believers have fallen prey to such actors in the past and are today full of regrets.

A promising young brother got involved with a sister who joined the church. She went through the young converts class and was water-baptized. Before the pastor knew it, they were seeing each other and eventually fell into fornication. After the brother was disciplined, he went ahead to marry the lady. Years later, the initial fire in the brother refused to ignite.

He continued to serve God peripherally. When he was being considered for a ministerial training, his wife was the excuse. Her presence in his life had quenched the Pentecostal fire in him. Younger believers have come and over taken the brother, yet his eyes have not opened to his persistent lukewarm state. Another reason not to choose by yourself is that whatever you use as criteria for your choice may not stand the test of time.

If you are choosing him because he is rich or choosing her because she is very pretty, what happens when that wealth or beauty disappears tomorrow? You can be sure that will become a big problem. Also, human beings are generally limited in their ability to make right choices. You may be choosing that fellow because of what you can see today instead of looking at his tomorrow. Let God choose for you!

Some pastors manipulate their members to marry only from their local parish contrary to the will of God. Never play God in the lives of those under you!

Memorise: “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19)

Read: Mark 4:35-41

matthgew-18Jesus encounter with Heaven in the Garden called Gethsemane reveals the immutability of God. He cannot be changed by our prayers since He maintains His essence eternally. If prayer cannot change God, why pray? If prayer cannot change God, it can change people. For instance, on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18:36-39, the same people who had equated the Almighty God with idols suddenly began to scream: “The Lord is God, the Lord is God” after prayer.

If people are undecided on who the true God to be worshipped is, it is because we believers have not prayed to the point of effecting a change. Many believers were prayed into the Kingdom. I am one of them. Are your loved ones, relatives and friends still living in sin? It is an evidence that you have not prayed enough for them. Back up your evangelism with serious intercession as you stand on scriptures that promise salvation for the lost. Many evangelistic outreaches and efforts are lost to prayerlessness.

With prayer, you can change the decisions of people on issues. Those who were opposed to you can become affectionately disposed to you if you can pay the price on your knees. Your prayer closet is a strong control room. Use it regularly from today or you will be held accountable for the changes you could have made which you failed to make.

Although prayer cannot change God, it can however change situations and circumstances for good. Every challenge, situation or circumstance that comes your way is waiting for the right prayer heat to change it. Through prayer, you rename problems. Whatever does not make you happy can suddenly be changed to deliver your greatest joy, if exposed to the appropriate change agent – effective and fervent prayer.

In 1 Samuel 16:11-13, a shepherd boy changed his job and became a most famous king through prayer. What is that unpleasant situation before you now? Confront it with your prayer fire and see it change before you. When the wind and waves arose against Jesus and His disciples in Mark 4:35-41, He said a prayer of decree and the tempest ceased. What is that contrary wind blowing against your family or business? Take it up in prayer and it shall cease.

Agree with your prayer partner over a certain matter you want to come to pass and pray about.

Mathew 3 vs 13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.14 But John forbad him, saying, I have John-The-Baptist-Paintingneed to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

  1. Jesus was a humble man, though he was Lord, yet he subjected himself to be being baptized by John.
  2. John the baptist himself was embarrassed to baptize Jesus.
  3. Compare this to the way, the present Priests and Pastors behave as tin gods over their congregation
  4. Compare this to the way, Christians behave arrogantly over their subjects
  5. Prayer: O Lord give me a humble heart

Memorise: “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end….” (Isaiah 9:7a)

Read: Isaiah 9:6-7

messiahOf the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end….” (Isaiah 9:7a). There are different kinds of kingdoms – that of men and that of the devil. There is another Kingdom – a very special one at that – where every subject is either a king or a queen because the King of that Kingdom is called the King of kings. About 6000 years ago, there was a government which existed in the Garden of Eden. This was the government of Adam (Genesis 1:26-28).

This kingdom was prosperous and glorious and the gold there was grade one – better than the one commonly seen today (Genesis 2:8-12). Adam – the head of that government had a lot of time. He spent his time commissioning animals, projects, and other things similar to what contemporary governors and presidents do today. Then God looked down from Heaven and decided to give him something special (a wife) to make him complete. Then trouble came.

Since then, even when God knows you need some miracles, if you fail to ask Him, you may not have it. Why? Adam said God caused him to sin by giving him the woman he never asked (Genesis 3:12). That was the beginning of a most unexpected change. Adam lost his government and a new government headed by Satan took over.

Satan’s government was obtained through deception. This satanic government is what controls the world today with billions of people under it, except a few who have rebelled against that government and have opted for a divine government. Satan’s government is one of degradation and vain glory since God’s glory was taken up the moment Adam fell.

It is also a government of loneliness as Adam became separated from His Source after the fall (Genesis 3:8). It is a government of fear (Genesis 3:9-10). It is a government of curses (Genesis 3:16-19 ). If you find yourself almost succeeding but never able to achieve that success, it is an evidence that you are under a curse. It is a government of loss. Adam was sent out of his earthly paradise. It is a government of failure, disappointment, sorrow and death.

Anyone under the satanic government will be fed with all these tokens of the liar. Are you under Satan’s government? If you are still living in sin, you are under the government of Satan. If you find it difficult to obey God’s Word, you are still under Satan’s government. Everyone under his government becomes a victim of Satan’s manipulations, attacks and unhealthy control.

It is easy to fall into the pit of fornication but it takes the grace of God to come out of it. Ask God to bring you out of any sinful pit.

Should a Christian marry an unbeliever?

God is the author of marriage. Marriage was originally designed to be one of the most beautiful relationships that could exist. But the fall of man into sin has produced several versions of marriages.

Today, all kinds of things happen in marriage because we have left God out of an institution He established. Couples choose to go ahead into marriage without consulting Heaven’s manual for marriages. No wonder things are not as were originally designed. The good news is that no matter how bad the situation might have been with your marriage or family, it can be brought back on line as you return to the basics. This season, the Lord will intervene in your family and give you a true home in Jesus’ Name.

In Genesis 24, Abraham had advanced in age when he arranged for his son Isaac to be married. He was very concerned about where his son’s wife would come from. He warned his chief servant – Eliezer not to take any of the daughters of Canaan even though he lived there. In verse four, he says, “But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac”.

And he made him to swear that he would do as instructed. Beloved, just as Abraham was concerned about where his son would marry from, so also is the Lord concerned about where your spouse would come from. It is clear from Abraham’s experience that there are places believers can marry from and those we cannot marry from. Believers are forbidden marriage to Canaanites – unbelievers.

Are you single and searching for a partner? God your Father is very concerned about it. In 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, He warns that you should not consider an unbeliever as your partner. It is spiritually suicidal to do so. If you are genuinely born again but you are in a relationship with an unbeliever or an unsaved churchgoer, break that relationship or you may regret it later.

The least a believer can do is to marry any fellow believer, but this is not good enough. God does not want you to be married to just any believer but the right one for you. Every believer has a right partner. Prayerfully wait on God for the fellow. Besides, God cares about every other aspect of your life. If you can lay all your cares and worries on Him, He will prove to you that He cares.

A believer with God’s gifts who sins will continue to manifest the gifts. If he repents, the Holy Spirit will continue from where He stopped. But if he does not repent, demons will take over the use of his gifts.

Memorise: “And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Exodus 32:33)

Read: Revelation 20:11-15

blotted-8-728“On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king” (Esther 6:1).

The story of Mordecai is an interesting one with several lessons for us today. The first thing that comes to mind is that every organized kingdom keeps records. Just as king Ahasuerus kept records of events, so does the King of kings. Heaven has lots of books out of which are some registers for human beings. Revelation 20:11-15 tells us of two sets of books – the book of life and the books of death. Everyone that is born into this world has his or her name in one of the books.

Wherever your name falls is where all your deeds will be recorded. Everyone who is born again and is still living right until time of death can be assured that his or her name is in the book of life. The moment you are washed in the blood of Jesus and become a new creature in Christ, your name enters the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 21:27).

It takes your daily living to please Him to sustain your name there. If you return to sin, God has no choice but to erase the name of that fellow from this book. Also, what will happen to anyone and where the fellow will spend eternity will be determined by which book the fellow’s name is. Every sinner’s name is in one of the books of death, hence, they will be doomed in eternal hell.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Exodus 32:33). Even from the time of Moses, it was common knowledge that God had a book where all righteous souls are listed. Are you born again? If yes, congratulations! It is not enough to have your name in the most important book in the universe. Keeping it there is the challenge.

Satan is out to delist your name from that book. That colleague that is mounting pressure on you to compromise with sin, is actually Satan’s vehicle to delist you. Some powerful names have been delisted from that book. Judas Iscariot and Demas once had their names in that book but were delisted. It is only when your name is there, that you will be entitled to your portion from God’s Kingdom. Do everything in your power to retain your name in this glorious book. Has your name been delisted? Re-enrol today!

Father, frustrate every known or unknown move of the enemy to delist my name from the Lamb’s Book of Life. Lord, fill this year’s Convention with your presence, power, and miracles. Grant us journey mercies during the Convention.

Bible sermon:  What is sacrificial giving?

Posted on Updated on

Mark 12 vs.  41-44

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.

42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.

43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others.

44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on.”

Image result

What is sacrificial offering?

  1. Sacrificial offering is NOT giving any sum of money into the offering basket- Mark 12 vs. 41- Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury.

  1. Sacrificial offering is NOT putting large amount of money into the offering basket- Mark 12 vs. 41- Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts.

  1. Sacrificial offering is putting ALL your income including the income for your daily needs into the offering basket- Mark 12 vs. 44- They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on.”

  1. If someone has 100 dollars in his account and gives an offering of $10, $20 or $30 dollars he has not given sacrificially.

  1. If someone has $1000 in his account and gives an offering of $100, $200 or even $900 dollars to God, He has not given sacrificially.

  1. If someone has $100 in his account and gives ALL the $100 into the offering basket, the person has given an sacrificial offering.

Why should  we give a sacrificial offering?

  1. To challenge God concerning a prayer request.
  2. To fulfil a vow.
  3. For thanksgiving
  4. When what you have at hand is not enough, to provoke divine provision.
  5. To pay a first fruit
  6. To make a covenant with God
  7. To give a normal offering.

I shall not be stingy towards God in Jesus name.

Commentary on Mark 4: Faith in the storms of life

Posted on Updated on

Mark 4 vs 36-40

36 And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?

  1. One of the remarkable occurrences in Mark 4 is that Jesus also sleeps.
  2. Jesus and his disciples were on a ship on the high sea, a great storm faced the ship, the ship was almost drowning, the disciples were afraid of sinking with the ship but Jesus slept off.

Image result

What lessons can we learn from this encounter?

  1. Jesus, though a God in human flesh, behaved completely like a human being.
  2. This incident emphasizes the importance of resting and taking a nap to become refreshed.
  3. Only foolish people overwork themselves, even our God took a rest on the seventh day.
  4. Another lesson is that we should simply ignore several issues of life that we allow to worry us. Jesus ignored the raging storm. You need to turn on the ignore mode against every raging storm of your life.
  5. Jesus slept off when the storm was raging because He knew God was in control. Our fear and faithfulness must give away to fear.
  1. Jesus had earlier ordained the disciples but the disciples never knew they had power against the wind and sea. Many Christians are ignorant or delimit the power of God in their lives.
  1. Jesus is still asking that same questions to his disciples, why are you so fearful?
  2. Let every raging storm against your ship, marriage, finances, business, family etc, be still in Jesus name.

Commentary on Mark 2-Jesus saves

Posted on Updated on

Mark 2 vs. 17-

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

  1. Several people live in self condemnation of their past sins and iniquities.
  2. Some people erroneously believe God will not forgive them because of the enormity of the sins they have committed in the past.
  3. The fact is that the whole essence of the ministry of Jesus is not to applaud /praise the righteous but to call sinners to repentance.
  4. Jesus upbraided the rich, condemned the Pharisees and Sadducees (who thought they are righteous) for practising legalistic righteousness, exposed the folly of the man that thought he had kept all the laws and commandments;  but associated with the poor, shielded the sinner (caught in the very act of adultery)  from being stoned, dined and wined with tax collectors, and sat with unbelievers.
  5. Jesus came to save to heal and to deliver.
  6. No matter the nature of your sins they will be washed away once you confess them, repent and plead for forgiveness by the blood of Jesus.
  7. Go ahead and call on the Lord Jesus to save you.
  8. As we start a new month, it is not enough to prophecy that this is a good month, heaven will be more pleased if you decide to walk with God this month and henceforth.

  1. This month shall open your mouth and vomit my miracles, vomit my blessings, vomit my healing, vomit my jobs, vomit my marriage, vomit my husband, vomit my children vomit my visa etc in Jesus name
  2. This month shall arise and favour me in Jesus name
  3. Blood of Jesus fight for me this month
  4. Blood of Jesus save and deliver me from economic, business, marital, and spiritual recession.

Judas Iscariot: death of destiny

Commentary on Matthew 27: The reward of sin

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435

One of the main lessons of Matthew 27 is that the reward of sin is destruction.

  1. Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty shekels of silver but didn’t live to enjoy the thirty shekels.
  2. Judas returned the thirty shekels to the Chief priest when he saw that Jesus was crucified.
  3. When you commit a sin you will not have peace of mind.
  4. Judas betrayed Jesus by collecting thirty shekels of silver from the chief priest but the chief priest in turn betrayed him by refusing to collect back the money when Judas sought to return it.
  5. When you commit sin, your conspirators will eventually betray you. The money satan gives us for forsaking Christ really belongs to God. Judas did not cast the money to the chief priest but to the temple. All monies come from God.

Image result

  1. Any money you receive illegally is blood money. The chief priest refused to put the money into the treasury because it was blood money (Matthew 27 vs. 6) – The chief priests picked up the coins and said, “It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
  2. Ill-gotten wealth ends in destruction. Judas eventually hanged himself (Matthew 27 vs.5) – So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
  3. Judas like the other disciples should have ended up as an apostle, a saint, and the pillar of the church, but his destiny ended up on a tree because of the love of money. We now hear of Saint Peters Catholic Church, Saint James Anglican Church, Saint Mathews School, Saint Luke School..and several other monuments named after the disciples of Jesus. Have you ever heard of anything name after Saint Judas? Judas died a betrayer not a Saint, and his colorful destiny ended on a tree.

Commentary on Matthew 19: Why a rich man may not make heaven

Posted on Updated on

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435

Matthew 19 vs. 23- Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

  1. A rich man that puts his trust in the riches to solve all his problems instead of trusting God may not make heaven.
  2. Money may become his god. A rich man that devotes their time, energy, and power to make money rather than serving God may not make heaven.
  3. A rich man that believes money can solve all his problems may become godless and lose heaven.
  4. A rich man may become too busy managing his riches that he has no time for the things of God like reading the bible, praying, and fellowshipping with believers.
  5. Some rich men might have committed sins (bribery and corruption, murder etc.) to accumulate and sustain their riches.
  6. A rich man who does not have compassion for the poor and does not share/spend his riches on the poor may be committing a sin.
  7. It is almost impossible to become rich in this world without committing a sin or making covenant with the devil along the way.

God of heaven give me riches that will not kill me in Jesus name

Commentary on Mathew 20: How to receive a miracle

Posted on Updated on

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435

Matthew 20 vs. 29-34

29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. 30 And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David.

31 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou Son of David. 32 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you? 33 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened. 34 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Two blind men who are professional beggars received instant miracles from Jesus. What lessons can we learn from this incident to receive a miracle?

  1. Be informed: seek information by asking questions. The two blind heard Jesus was coming to town; if they were ignorant that a miracle worker was in town, they would not have been able to receive a miracle.
  2. Be diligent: The two blind men were professional beggars, and they encountered their miracle on duty. Even as beggars, the two blind men were diligent. If they had decided to sleep at home that day instead of going out to beg; they would have missed the miracle.
  3. Believe Jesus: If the two blind men did not believe in Jesus they would not have cried to him. Your deliverance starts by surrendering your life to Jesus and believing He can save, heal and deliver you.
  4. Don’t resign to fate: Reject every contrary situation. The two blind men refused to accept blindness as their destiny and permanent fortune. They desired a change and received a change.
  5. Cry to God: Don’t murmur, lament, grumble, or weep about your situation; rather cry to God. Jesus does not respond to tears, but prayers. The two men could have lamented that their blindness prevented them from seeing Jesus, rather they cried to Jesus as He passed by, instead of lamenting about their situation.
  6. Pray fervently: The prayer of the two blind men was fervent, earnest, and efficacious. There is a time for silent prayers, but when a multitude is looking for a miracle, you need to raise your voice above the crowd to get attention.
  7. Have self confidence: Believe in yourself, pursue your dreams. The two blind men were not too shy to cry, and cried louder even when rebuked.
  8. Position yourself: You need to be at the right spot at the right time. The two blind men were well positioned where Jesus could see them, in the midst of a multitude. You need to be at the place where your miracle is waiting for you.
  9. Repent: Confess, repent of your sins and ask for mercy. The two blind men pleaded their case under mercy.
  10. Be restless: The multitude rebuked the two men but they refused to be silenced. Your voice has to be louder than the voice of your enemies. The more the blind men were asked to remain silent, the more they cried. Your miracle is on the way immediately you become restless. Your restlessness shall attract the attention of Jesus.
  11. Pray the prayer of Jacob: The prayer of Jacob is the prayer of Enough is Enough. The prayer of Jacob is the prayer of I will not leave you unless you bless me. The two blind men refused to keep quiet until they received a miracle. Keep praying until your miracle appears.
  12. Call God by His name that addresses your situation. The two blind men called Jesus Lord knowing fully well that:
  • This will provoke Jesus to proof his lordship.
  • Jesus must answer His name.
  • At the mention of the name Jesus, every kneel must bow, blindness must bow.
  • If Jesus answers His name the demon causing blindness into their lives must bow.
  • Anyone that calls on the name of Jesus must be saved.
  • Jesus came to save sinners.
  1. Be a prayer addict. Your prayers must embarrass heaven before you can receive a miracle. Your prayer must become a nuisance to the kingdom of darkness, before you can receive a miracle. Your prayers must draw the attention of Heaven before you can receive a miracle.
  2. Don’t limit yourself: The two blind men asked for what was been hard to achieve, they wanted to see. Ask God for the impossible.
  3. Be specific in your prayers: The prayer request of the two blind men was specific, clear, unambiguous, and straightforward. They wanted to see, and they saw. Their prayer request did not involve storytelling, or name calling. They were not seeing the cause of the problems nor indulged in name calling. Rather they focused on the solution.
  4. Be prophetic: The two blind men have never seen, yet they started seeing. Unless you see what you have not seen yet, you may not receive a miracle.
  5. Decide to serve: The two blind men immediately became followers of Jesus, and became his servants. Your deliverance is for service. Until God sees your heart that you will serve him when he delivers you, He will not likely deliver you.

Commentary on Matthew 18: Qualities of a good child/kid

Posted on Updated on

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435

Matthew 18 vs. 3-4

3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.  4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus said whoever wants to make heaven must have the qualities of a child. What are these qualities that every Christian should imbibe?

Image result for children

  1. Children are humble; you therefore need to overcome pride and arrogance.
  2. Children are innocent; you need to pray for God to turn your wordly wisdom to foolishness.
  3. Children are meek; you need to deliver yourself from spirit of anger if you wish to make heaven.
  4. Children are forgiving; you must ensure you forgive all that rightly or wrongly offend you.
  5. Children have absolute faith in the word of their Daddy. You should have faith in God and put your trust in him.
  6. Children are trustworthy; you need to cast off deceit from your life.
  7. Children don’t bear grudge or malice; you must have same character and spirit.
  8. Children love everyone, young and old, male or female. You need to have compassion and love all.
  9. Children are not anxious about tomorrow, but cast their worries on their father. You need to kill the spirit of anxiety and worry.
  10. Children are teachable; you must be obedient and diligent.
  11. Children are obedient; pray and cast out the spirit of rebellion and disobedience.
  12. Children are not covetous, materialistic or desire riches or wealth. You need to kill the love of money which the bible describes as the root of all evils.
  13. Children are free minded and play with anyone. If you wish to make heaven don’t harbor or cultivate grudge against anyone.

Mark 11 vs. 2saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

  1. The colt was tied waiting to be slaughtered, it had limited freedom, as it was only able to move in circles.
  2. There is a divine command from heaven that you should experience a release in your finances, and health in Jesus name
  3. Just as Jesus commanded the colt to be loosed, God is going to release you for promotion.
  4. When they brought the colt to Jesus, He rode on it, and people laid them garments on the road in praise and honour of JesusIf you allowed yourself to be used by Jesus, He will cause people to honour you through Him.

Mark 11vs. 13Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs.

  1. Jesus was hungry anddid not find any fruit on the fig tree, though the fig tree had a mandate to provide for Jesus at that time; can God trust in you?

 2. Jesus cursed the fig tree to dry up because it was not fruitful or useful. The essence of life is to live fulfill purpose and to be useful.

Mark 11 vs. 21 – Peter remembered and said to Jesus, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!”

  1. If the fig tree did not die it could have been a tourist attraction in Israel today

Mark 11vs. 17and as he taught them He said, “It is not written: my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations, but you have made it a den of robbers.

  1. What have you turn the church into? Is it a house of prayers or curses? Two things God will not share with anybody, glory and vengeance.

Isaiah 42:8: I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols

Romans 12:19Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord

  1. If you indulge in browsing social media activities during church service, you have turn the house of God into cyber café.
  2. Some people have turned the house of God to fashion parade; dressing is for covering, protection, and beauty but some people both young and old dress up without covering up.

Mark 11 vs. 22:And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

  1. Don’t put your faith in anything outside God, not in your connection, ability, family, or wisdom.
  2. I command every mountain in your life to be removed in Jesus name.
  3. God used the sea figuratively, because He knew when the mountain moves to the sea, the sea will swallow it.
  4. Speak what you want, God is hearing. He will rubberstamp it.
  5. As you sleep and wake up every day, you are getting closer to your miracle in Jesus name. Faith will keep you steady.

How to achieve self-deliverance

Posted on Updated on

By Evangelist Steve Kayode Pelemo

The World Overcomers Church,

  1. Demons flee at the name of Jesus.
  2. You can achieve deliverance if you believe Jesus.
  3. The assignment of God for your life will keep you alive. John 8 vs. 31-3231To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
  4. Jesus is the way through you cannot be stranded, because He is with you always.
  5. The Lord will turn your mistakes and stupid action around; He will turn it around for your good.
  6. The way out of every affliction in life is Jesus; he is the truth that sets free.
  7. You need to become too hot for the devil.
  8. A Christian that needs deliverance needs to know the word of God. It is not just prayers, it is the word that sets free.
  9. The word will set you free, don’t joke with the word; there is power in the word.
  10. You can bring yourself out of every affliction.
  11. You can deliver your family, yourself, your ministry by the word of God.

Mathew 4: Temptation of Jesus: lessons and commentary

Posted on Updated on

  1. You need to feed on the word of God as you feed on food and drinks – Matthew 4 vs. 4 – But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
  2. Act with wisdom. Don’t act foolishly. Your decisions and lifestyles will determine your fate. Even Jesus was taken to safety when Herod wanted to kill him. Matthew 2 vs. 14-15; And Jesus departed from Nazareth in Galilee to Capernaum when He learnt of the arrest of John the Baptist – Matthew 4 vs. 13 – And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim
  3. Christians should avoid idolatry, such as making covenant with Satan in return for status, wealth and positions – Matthew 4 vs. 10 – Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Are you a born again Christian?

Posted on Updated on

John 3 vs. 3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

images (18)

I met a lady online yesterday, she had contacted me for counselling, and I noticed she was almost half nude in her displayed photo. She told me she is a Christian, explaining that the photo is her gym attire. I then asked her if she is a born again Christian, as the photo portrayed her more of a sex worker. She then asked me the difference between a Christian and a born again Christian. The compilation below is a response to the question on the difference between a Christian and a born again Christian

  1. A Christian believes in Jesus Christ, a born again Christian is a disciple of Jesus.
  2. A Christian is church goer, a born again Christian is a servant in the church.
  3. A Christian attends only Sunday service, a born again Christian attends Sunday services and week day services.
  4. A Christian opens his Bible only on Sundays during sermons, a born again Christian reads his Bible day and night.
  5. A Christian rarely fasts, a born again Christian is always fasting.
  6. A Christian can barely say the Lord’s prayer, a born again Christian can pray for long on any issue.
  7. A Christian is always looking for prayer points or who to pray for him, a born again Christian is a generator of prayers.
  8. A Christian can only pray in his understanding, a born again Christian can pray both in understanding and in the spirit.
  9. Most Christians only know the first verses of Psalms 23 and 121; a born again Christian can quote several scriptures.
  10. A Christian still keeps worldly friends, attend weird parties, drinks alcoholics, smokes, and indulges in sexual sins, but a born again Christian does not drink or smoke, chaste, faithful to his wife, and rarely socializes.
  11. A Christian is tied to church doctrines even when they are contrary to the Bible, a born again Christian believes in the scriptures and rejects church doctrines when they are contrary to the Bible.
  12. A Christian still practices the traditions of his ancestors, a born again Christian reject any tradition that is contrary to the Bible.
  13. A Christian exposes her body and makes up excessively like a Jezebel; a born again Christian dresses up for glory and beauty, covers her body, and is natural.
  14. A Christian finds it difficult to support the gospel financially, a born again Christian gives sacrificially to the gospel.
  15. A Christian watches action, adventurous, worldly films and listens to romantic music, a born again Christian censors what he ears, watches, or see. His standard is what will Jesus say, ear, or watch?
  16. A Christian belongs to the new school interested only in motivational, inspirational, and prosperity messages, a born again Christian is more excited to hear salvation messages.
  17. A Christian is a soul waiting to be won for Christ, a born again Christian is a soul winner.
  18. A Christian participates in any discussions including filthy conversations, a born again Christian walks away from evil communication.
  19. A Christian is focused on riches and pleasures of the world- how to become the next millionaire, a born again Christian is focused on heaven- how to win souls and make heaven.
  20. A Christian sees the opposite sex as a potential sexual partner, a born again Christian looks for the way to share the gospel with anyone he meets.

Bible Sermon on offerings and giving

Exodus 23 vs. 15 – Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)

  1. Several years ago, I escorted my mum to visit a King, one of the traditional rulers in a neighboring community, to seek a favour.
  2. On our way to the King’s palace, my mum reminded me that we have to take a gift along for the King; as it is against the local customs and tradition to visit the King empty handed.
  3. As a result, we purchased a bottle of wine which we presented to the King in his palace.
  4. Noteworthy, the King collected our gift, promised to grant our requests, but never did.

What lessons can we learn from this story?

  1. If local custom and tradition forbids appearance before an earthly King empty handed, how are we appearing before the King of kings? How serious do we take the biblical injunction in Exodus 23 vs. 15 that we should not appear before God empty handed?
  2. The King that my mum and I gave a gift few years ago, (because we wanted a favour) died last year without fulfilling his promise to us, but we have a King of Kings who keeps promises and lives King forever.

Bible commentary on Strange woman: My encounter with a ‘strange woman’

Posted on

‘Strangers shall submit unto me’: My encounter with a strange woman

By Babatope Babalobi

And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger’– Proverbs 5 vs 20

I never like hotels, unfortunately the nature of my job forces me to sleep in hotels often. Over the past years I have seen misdeeds and evils happening in several hotels- drinking spree, drunkenness, smoking, revelling, wild partying, and various forms of sexual perversion. I have come to regard hotels, largely as the hotbed and melting pot of sin. The class or rating of the hotel does not really matter, acts of unrighteousness do occur in almost all hotels.

As a man, it takes the grace of God to resist the sinful temptations that hotels exhibit, allow, and accommodate. My strategy has always been to stay in my hotel room as much as possible, and cut off from the worldliness that often take place within the premises.

I am presently domiciled in an hotel, and had an encounter with a lady that fits the Biblical description of a ‘strange woman’ See Proverbs chapter 5., few days ago. The hotel is not a brothel, and on a 1-5 rating qualifies as a three-star hotel.

Specifically, last Thursday evening, as I stepped out of my hotel room around 8pm, I was accosted less than 10 metres away by a scantily dressed lady who said she wanted to talk to me. I waited to hear what she had to say. She told me her story, saying she had come to the hotel to meet her boyfriend, but found another lady with him and he didn’t give her attention; as such she was stranded and needed some money to transport herself home.  She wanted me to help her with some money to transport herself.

As she narrated her story, I could see almost all her breasts, popping out of her loose dress. I guessed immediately that there is no truth in her fairy tale. From her enticing and sexy composure, I knew this was a lady of easy virtue looking for a sex partner, in return for a financial reward. My immediate reaction was to walk away.

However, it occurred to me that this lady was offering me with what she has, which is her body, I should also offer her what I have- which is Jesus of Nazareth. One of the principles of life is that if you don’t confess the word, the world will win you over. It occurred to me that this was an opportunity to evangelise and I ceased it by His grace.

I told her that I wish to talk to her, arguing that since I had allowed her to talk to me, she should also allow me to talk to her. She consented and suggested following me to my room which was metres away from where we stood. Of course, I declined knowing fully well – that was a trap and very risky. She them suggested we should go to the Bar, I declined and told her I didn’t mind talking to her, right there on the spot.

To cut a long story short, I told her about the love of Christ. Referring to her story in which she said her boyfriend disappointed her, I told her if she made Jesus Christ her boyfriend, she would never be disappointed. I informed her that I knew she was looking for a sex partner, and counselled her that going out to hotels looking for a sexual partner, in return for financial reward is sinful and an unsustainable source of livelihood. She should also be mindful of the medical risks and dangers involved.

She became crest fallen as I shared the gospel, and was almost crying. She never expected to hear a sermon. To the glory of God, the Holy Spirit arrested her.  She told me she is an orphan with financial challenges. I further told her the wages of sin is death, but Jesus came to carry her burdens, including financial burdens in exchange for abundant life. Finally, I encouraged her to surrender her life to Christ, and to the glory of God she agreed.

I led her through the confessional prayer, but she stopped at the point I asked her to say: ‘I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour’.

She is most likely a Muslim, as she bears the name -Amirat. From experience, I know it takes the grace of God to convert a Muslim. I knew it was the devil that was at work, and explained to her this was the most important confession she had to say in her life.                                                                                 After persuading her to no avail, I warned her that the Holy Spirit was giving her what might be a last opportunity to decide where she would spend eternity, and she just needed to confess the Lord Jesus to be saved.

I told her what is written in Romans 10 vs 9: That if thou confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. To the glory of God, she finally said the most important words: I accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Saviour.

The story did not end there. I thought I should pray with her. As I raised my voice and covered her with the blood of Jesus, she felled to the ground, and started shouting ‘Leave me alone, Leave me alone’. I knew it was the demon spirits inside her that were speaking.                                                                                               I stood on 2 Samuel 22 vs 45 that says: Strangers shall submit themselves unto me, as soon as they hear me they shall be obedient to me. Strangers shall fade away, they shall be afraid out of their closes places’ and commanded the demons’ spirits to shut up and be silenced in Jesus name.

Of course they did, for there is power in Jesus name and at the mention of his name every knee must bow- Philippians 2vs 10. Next the lady started throwing up as if she wanted to vomit. I cast out the evil spirits inside her in Jesus name. She stopped throwing up and slept off. I called the attention of an hotel staff to take her away. We discovered she was fast asleep on the ground, and had to be sprinkled with water before she woke up. She was later led away.

What lessons can we learn from this story?

  1. The devil is a roaring life looking for who to devour- 1 Peter 5 vs 8. Every Christian has a duty to resist the devil. I believe this lady who accosted me by my hotel room, was programmed from the pit of hell, but God turned it to a testimony.
  2. The Bible says when sinners entice thee, consent thee not- Proverbs 1 vs 10. Let no one say I committed sin by mistake. You have the mind and power to say No to sin.
  3. If you don’t have the word of God, the world will win you over. The Holy Spirit helped me to overcome this sexual temptation because He gave me the grace to preach the word.
  4. Most afflictions are self-inflicted. The lady was evidently demonised. I guessed if I had succumbed to her sexual advances, she would have passed demons into my life in the course of enjoying the pleasures of sin… I may not even be alive to tell the story. When I recounted the story to my wife, she said any lady that manifested in such a manner under prayer, could even turn to a snake on bed. Many people have put themselves into bondages through sins and misdeeds.
  5. Every opportunity is an opportunity to evangelise. She offered me her body, but I countered by offering her Christ. The Bible says the Light shinnneth in darkness, but darkness comprehended it not– John 1vs 4. Darkness will always bow to light.
  6. The harvest is real but the labourers are few. Who would have thought that a sex worker would surrender her life to Christ?
  7. Finally, women need to pray for your husbands not to fall into evil temptations that would not only destroy their lives but their households. Men need to beware. Strange women are on prowl. May God give us the grace to overcome temptations, and may God give us the heart to be soul winners in Jesus name.
  8. In your quiet time, remember to pray for Amirat, lady I met in the city of Yola, Nigeria on April 1, 2016. She must not go back to the world. Heaven is her portion in Jesus name. Our children, wives, and husbands shall be delivered from strange women and men in Jesus name.

Jeremiah 22:29 – O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD

Holy Spirit as a person: Is the Holy ghost real?

Posted on Updated on

How to recover your lost glory by the power of the Holy Spirit?

Daniel 2:47-The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of mysteries,

  1. I misplaced my eye glasses a week ago. Exactly on the morning of November 7, 2015, I woke up without seeing my glasses, and could not remember where I kept it. The last two places I visited was my office and a restaurant. I conducted searches and asked the personnel there, but no one found it.
  2. For three days, I searched and searched, but could not find it, but did not give up. After three days of fruitless search, I returned to the Holy Spirit. By His grace I have never lost any possession in life. I use to say, none of my properties could be stolen because I did not steal money to buy them.
  3. So I returned to the Holy Spirit after three days of using my wisdom to locate my lost possessions, and asked him to fish out my glasses for him. Every day I engaged the Holy Spirit in a discussion. I petitioned him, and ‘queried’ I was not even praying to him, but at a point was really querying him why He allowed my glasses to be missing. I was not praying for a new glasses, as I believed the one I had, should not be missing in the first instance.
  4. I asked the Holy Spirit: ‘Holy Spirit, please where is my glasses?’; ‘Holy Spirit, fish out my glasses wherever it is’; ‘Holy Spirit why did you allow my glasses to be lost or missing, at least you were there when I misplaced it.? Why didn’t remind me to pick it?’ ‘Holy Spirit would you please bring back my glasses?’.
  5. To the glory of God, Holy Spirit brought my glasses yesterday. I went to that same restaurant when I suspected it was misplaced. As I sat down one of the workers walked in, and I told him am still looking for my glasses. He quickly went to a drawer and brought it out, saying it has been lying there for the past one week. I was pleasantly surprised because they have earlier searched and couldn’t find it in the restaurant.
  6. I returned to my hotel room and gave thanks to the Holy Spirit for bringing back my glasses. My testimony remains my possessions cannot be lost, and the power of God recovered my blessings for me in Jesus name. Also, the Holy Spirit confirmed once more to me that He is real.
  7. There is somebody that needs to relate to the Holy Spirit as a friend and companion. There is somebody that needs to earnestly and repeatedly ask the Holy Spirit questions, by faith. There is someone that needs to claim his covenant rights from the Holy Spirit. There is somebody that needs to be determined to only take ‘Yes’ for an answer from the Holy Spirit. There is somebody that should not allow the Holy Spirit to rest, until he is settled. There is somebody that needs to ask his friend, the Holy Spirit simple questions: Holy Spirit where is my job? Holy Spirit give me a job? Holy Spirit where is my baby? Holy Spirit give me a baby? Holy Spirit where is my husband/wife? Holy Spirit, bring my husband/wife to me? Holy spirit, where did you allow me to remain jobless, unmarried, sick, poor etc
  8. I pray as you do so in faith and righteousness, your testimonies shall manifest in Jesus name.
