MEMORIZE: “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of hands;

thy walls are continually before me”(Is 49:16)

READ : Isaiah 49:13-16

In 2 Kings 5:1, Naaman, the captain of the Syrian army was described as a great man. No matter how great a man may be, he is still a man – a mere mortal…. Hence Ecclesiastes 8:8 says no man can retain his spirit when death calls.

 Anyone threatening to stop you from reaching your goal shall have the Lord of Hosts to contend with. Being a man, Naaman was capable of falling asleep. Is there any earthly father who so loves his children that he stays awake to watch over them every night?

 Is there a man who so loves wife to the extent of not sleeping just keeping vigil every night, looking at her face? I do not know of any.

But we have a Father who keeps watch over us day and night. So if enemies want to come at night to harm you, tell them to come because the one who neither slumbers nor sleeps is waiting for them.

Hence, David could say, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD only makest me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8). If you are a child of God, you need not be afraid to sleep at night. God is not limited to the day. His excellent security services cover both day and night.

            Another limitation in Naaman was that as a man he could forget things just like any other man. But Isaiah 49:15 says even when a nursing mother forgets her baby, God will not forget you.

Why? Because He has engraved you upon the palms of His hands. You see people wear tattoos of different colours, shapes and sizes. One thing about real tattoos is that it is difficult to erase once it is done. It becomes a part of the person in whose body it is done. In some cultures, tattooing was a means of enhancing one’s beauty.

God thought of a way He can continue to remember you, so He decided to tattoo you this palms. Anytime He lifts up His hands, He will see you.

You are God’s tattoo! The fact that He sees you regularly shows that He cannot forget you. He remembers you every second of the day, every day of the week and for the whole year.

Another implication of being God’s tattoo is that He can never be separated from you. Every plan of the enemy to separate you from God this year will fail.

Beloved, God remembers you. He will help you.
