Memorise: “Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters” (Exodus 15:10)

Read: Exodus 15:1-11

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

In the above verse, we are told of five names and titles of our Lord Jesus Christ and each of them is not only power-packed, but also significant for His church on earth. He is called ‘Wonderful’.

This means full of wonders. The fact that He is called Wonderful means that we should expect lots of wonder, surprise-causing events from Him. Exodus 15:11 lends credence to this special name saying, “Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods?Image result

Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” Why is He called Wonderful? It is because He is the custodian of wonders – both pleasant and unpleasant, and gives them out to His friends, foes and demons as situation demands.

For instance at the Red Sea, He revealed Himself to both the Israelites and the Egyptians as the One full of wonders. He gave the former pleasant wonders by parting the Red Sea for them to escape from their enemies. It was in appreciation of this that the Israelites sang the song of Moses (Exodus 15:1-19).

On the other hand, the Egyptians got their dose of surprise – but a negative one this time. They saw the Red Sea open and they went after Israel. Their mouths were open as they saw what they never saw before, and were still looking when the sea covered them.

Unfortunately, many enemies of God never live to tell the story of their encounter with the Wonderful. Someone asked, What is a wonder? A wonder is an unexpected event that leaves your mouth wide open. The Yorubas call it Iyanu – (a wonder that leaves your mouth agape). When you encounter the Wonderful, you will not know when your mouth will open in surprise. If nothing has caused you to open your mouth without closing it, you are yet to know Him as the Wonderful.

Until He reveals Himself to you as the Wonderful, you cannot assess the surprise packages in His kitty that can truly overwhelm you. From today, ask Him to reveal Himself to you as the Wonderful. Situations in your life will only respond to Him as the Wonderful.

Ask that God would terminate the activities of false prophets and false churches in this nation.

Memorise: “So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands” ( Psalm 78:72)

Read: Genesis 2:21-22

psalm78In Genesis 24:1-6, not only was Abraham concerned about Isaac’s bride, he ensured his chief servant was put under oath to pick from his home town. For many years, Abraham sojourned in Canaan – the promised land yet when it came to choosing a wife for his son Isaac, he went home. A time to marry is a time to return home – to the Body of Christ.

Every believer has his or her spouse waiting in the Body of Christ, not necessarily in the same denomination. Are you single and trusting God for a husband or wife? Go back to the Body of Christ. Once you have accepted God’s verdict that unbelievers are completely out of it – no matter how intelligent, rich, understanding or compatible the fellow may be, the next thing is to decide whether you want to choose by yourself, through some assistance by men, or you want God to choose for you.

You are free to choose a fellow believer as a marriage partner but there are high risks involved in this. It is possible the fellow you see as very zealous, up and doing and an ideal spouse could be putting up an act, or may be a spiritual weight. Many believers have fallen prey to such actors in the past and are today full of regrets.

A promising young brother got involved with a sister who joined the church. She went through the young converts class and was water-baptized. Before the pastor knew it, they were seeing each other and eventually fell into fornication. After the brother was disciplined, he went ahead to marry the lady. Years later, the initial fire in the brother refused to ignite.

He continued to serve God peripherally. When he was being considered for a ministerial training, his wife was the excuse. Her presence in his life had quenched the Pentecostal fire in him. Younger believers have come and over taken the brother, yet his eyes have not opened to his persistent lukewarm state. Another reason not to choose by yourself is that whatever you use as criteria for your choice may not stand the test of time.

If you are choosing him because he is rich or choosing her because she is very pretty, what happens when that wealth or beauty disappears tomorrow? You can be sure that will become a big problem. Also, human beings are generally limited in their ability to make right choices. You may be choosing that fellow because of what you can see today instead of looking at his tomorrow. Let God choose for you!

Some pastors manipulate their members to marry only from their local parish contrary to the will of God. Never play God in the lives of those under you!

Memorise: “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 18:19)

Read: Mark 4:35-41

matthgew-18Jesus encounter with Heaven in the Garden called Gethsemane reveals the immutability of God. He cannot be changed by our prayers since He maintains His essence eternally. If prayer cannot change God, why pray? If prayer cannot change God, it can change people. For instance, on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18:36-39, the same people who had equated the Almighty God with idols suddenly began to scream: “The Lord is God, the Lord is God” after prayer.

If people are undecided on who the true God to be worshipped is, it is because we believers have not prayed to the point of effecting a change. Many believers were prayed into the Kingdom. I am one of them. Are your loved ones, relatives and friends still living in sin? It is an evidence that you have not prayed enough for them. Back up your evangelism with serious intercession as you stand on scriptures that promise salvation for the lost. Many evangelistic outreaches and efforts are lost to prayerlessness.

With prayer, you can change the decisions of people on issues. Those who were opposed to you can become affectionately disposed to you if you can pay the price on your knees. Your prayer closet is a strong control room. Use it regularly from today or you will be held accountable for the changes you could have made which you failed to make.

Although prayer cannot change God, it can however change situations and circumstances for good. Every challenge, situation or circumstance that comes your way is waiting for the right prayer heat to change it. Through prayer, you rename problems. Whatever does not make you happy can suddenly be changed to deliver your greatest joy, if exposed to the appropriate change agent – effective and fervent prayer.

In 1 Samuel 16:11-13, a shepherd boy changed his job and became a most famous king through prayer. What is that unpleasant situation before you now? Confront it with your prayer fire and see it change before you. When the wind and waves arose against Jesus and His disciples in Mark 4:35-41, He said a prayer of decree and the tempest ceased. What is that contrary wind blowing against your family or business? Take it up in prayer and it shall cease.

Agree with your prayer partner over a certain matter you want to come to pass and pray about.

Memorise: “Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off” (Psalm 138:6)

Read: 2 Kings 5:9-12

138Elisha heard how the Israeli king tore his royal robe into shreds for fear that the king of Syria was seeking an occasion for war with them, so he invited Naaman over to his house. Naaman came with pomp and pageantry. He came with fine horses and chariots and was decorated with his uniform as a general. He got to Elisha’s house but felt it was not presentable enough so he stayed outside. He was the one in need of help yet he was the one exhibiting pride.

With all the things he was proudly displaying, he was still a leper. Without Jesus Christ, a sinner is still a sinner no matter how highly placed he is. Sin in the life of a sin is worse than leprosy, hence a sinner is worse than a leper. Every sinner is far removed from God except the fellow takes advantage of the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary. Isaiah 1:18 says, “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool”.

This talks of the efficacy of the blood of Jesus Christ. What is meant here is that even if one’s sins have been doubly immersed into the deep coloured dye of the coccus worm meant to give it a permanent fix, it can be restored to its original whiteness. The blood of Jesus can both deal with the colour and texture of sin. This means, no matter what sin you have committed, there is forgiveness for you if you can sincerely come to Jesus and ask for cleansing by His blood today.

Another lesson here has to do with attitude. Pride and blessing never go together. Psalm 138:6 says, “Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off”. The spirit of pride can never walk in agreement with our God. Never! As high as God is, He will only regard the lowly or humble seeker. You cannot seek God if you feel too big, too knowledgeable or too wise.

As long as you cannot come down from your high tower to meet God at the lowly place, you may never meet Him. Whenever you are seeking God’s blessing, align your ways with His. Humble yourself. Forget how important people say you are. Come to Him as a nobody – someone who is helpless, hopeless and impoverished. Call out to Him with humility and He will hear you. Some people cannot get their desires, not because they are not asking, but because they are asking from a high place instead of the lowly place.

Humility is key to receiving from God.

Should a Christian marry an unbeliever?

Read: Genesis 24:1-6

“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof” (Genesis 2:21).Image result

God is the author of marriage. Marriage was originally designed to be one of the most beautiful relationships that could exist. But the fall of man into sin has produced several versions of marriages.

Today, all kinds of things happen in marriage because we have left God out of an institution He established. Couples choose to go ahead into marriage without consulting Heaven’s manual for marriages. No wonder things are not as were originally designed. The good news is that no matter how bad the situation might have been with your marriage or family, it can be brought back on line as you return to the basics. This season, the Lord will intervene in your family and give you a true home in Jesus’ Name.

In Genesis 24, Abraham had advanced in age when he arranged for his son Isaac to be married. He was very concerned about where his son’s wife would come from. He warned his chief servant – Eliezer not to take any of the daughters of Canaan even though he lived there. In verse four, he says, “But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac”.

And he made him to swear that he would do as instructed. Beloved, just as Abraham was concerned about where his son would marry from, so also is the Lord concerned about where your spouse would come from. It is clear from Abraham’s experience that there are places believers can marry from and those we cannot marry from. Believers are forbidden marriage to Canaanites – unbelievers.

Are you single and searching for a partner? God your Father is very concerned about it. In 2 Corinthians 6:14-18, He warns that you should not consider an unbeliever as your partner. It is spiritually suicidal to do so. If you are genuinely born again but you are in a relationship with an unbeliever or an unsaved churchgoer, break that relationship or you may regret it later.

The least a believer can do is to marry any fellow believer, but this is not good enough. God does not want you to be married to just any believer but the right one for you. Every believer has a right partner. Prayerfully wait on God for the fellow. Besides, God cares about every other aspect of your life. If you can lay all your cares and worries on Him, He will prove to you that He cares.

A believer with God’s gifts who sins will continue to manifest the gifts. If he repents, the Holy Spirit will continue from where He stopped. But if he does not repent, demons will take over the use of his gifts.

Memorise: ” And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail” (Hebrew 1:12)

Read: Hebrews 1:8-12

hebrew1In Matthew 26:36-46, the Lord Jesus Christ went into a garden called Gethsemane with His disciples. He separated Himself to seek God’s face on an issue. He prayed. The prayer He said that day was so remarkable because the salvation of mankind depended on it. He prayed until His physical strength gave way to supernatural strength. He agonized in prayer until His sweat became as thick as blood.

Until then He had a record of 100% answers to prayer requests but on this day, He repeated the same request three times yet God did not change His mind. From this, we learn that where God’s plan or purpose is involved, no amount of prayer can cause Him to negate them. If you are asking God to change His Word, you are wasting your time and effort. Rather, ask to know His will and align with it.

“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6). Prayers do not change God. The above scripture tells us we are not consumed because of God’s immortality. James 1:17 says God cannot even change in the slightest degree while Hebrews 13:8 says He retains his essence in spite of fleeting moments, situations and circumstances.

Before, during and after your prayer, God remains God. He does not change. Your request does not add to or subtract from Him. Your prayer does not strip him of his dress. What He wore before creating the world is still what He is wearing. The fashion of earth fades away and continues to change but heavenly fashion never changes. God’s clothes are of the best designer – made by Himself, hence it does not need to be changed. He wears light. God is not carried away by the direction the multitudes are going.

God is eternally God. His seat is never vacant for anyone to contest for it. That might be one of Satan’s bones of contention but there is nothing anyone can do about it. God cannot be dethroned but is willing to share His throne with His human favorites, not angels. And this is for all eternity! For all who will share God’s throne, they will become unchangeable as God is.

Can you imagine yourself sharing God’s throne with Him? To do this you must be genuinely saved. You must overcome sin, Satan, the flesh and the world like Jesus did. You have to love and obey Him beyond everyone else. This year, God will not change His good plans towards you.

Jesus died for street urchins too. Pray and plan to present Christ to them and to take them off the streets.

Memorise: “And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Exodus 32:33)

Read: Revelation 20:11-15

blotted-8-728“On that night could not the king sleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king” (Esther 6:1).

The story of Mordecai is an interesting one with several lessons for us today. The first thing that comes to mind is that every organized kingdom keeps records. Just as king Ahasuerus kept records of events, so does the King of kings. Heaven has lots of books out of which are some registers for human beings. Revelation 20:11-15 tells us of two sets of books – the book of life and the books of death. Everyone that is born into this world has his or her name in one of the books.

Wherever your name falls is where all your deeds will be recorded. Everyone who is born again and is still living right until time of death can be assured that his or her name is in the book of life. The moment you are washed in the blood of Jesus and become a new creature in Christ, your name enters the Lamb’s book of life (Revelation 21:27).

It takes your daily living to please Him to sustain your name there. If you return to sin, God has no choice but to erase the name of that fellow from this book. Also, what will happen to anyone and where the fellow will spend eternity will be determined by which book the fellow’s name is. Every sinner’s name is in one of the books of death, hence, they will be doomed in eternal hell.

“And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book” (Exodus 32:33). Even from the time of Moses, it was common knowledge that God had a book where all righteous souls are listed. Are you born again? If yes, congratulations! It is not enough to have your name in the most important book in the universe. Keeping it there is the challenge.

Satan is out to delist your name from that book. That colleague that is mounting pressure on you to compromise with sin, is actually Satan’s vehicle to delist you. Some powerful names have been delisted from that book. Judas Iscariot and Demas once had their names in that book but were delisted. It is only when your name is there, that you will be entitled to your portion from God’s Kingdom. Do everything in your power to retain your name in this glorious book. Has your name been delisted? Re-enrol today!

Father, frustrate every known or unknown move of the enemy to delist my name from the Lamb’s Book of Life. Lord, fill this year’s Convention with your presence, power, and miracles. Grant us journey mercies during the Convention.

Be the Best

Memorise: “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature” (Col 1:15)

Read: Colossians 1:15-18

jesus-imageWhile instructing John the Beloved to write to the seven churches in Asia, the Lord Jesus introduced Himself to him as the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last (Revelation 1:11). Jesus is Alpha – that is the First.

He is first in everything. In Revelation 1:5, He is called the First begotten of the dead. He is the first to rise from the dead and continues to live forever. Nobody else has achieved this feat after Him.

No wonder in Hebrews 1:6, when He was sent into the world, He came as the first begotten and all angels were compelled to worship Him. He was also the first born of Mary (Matthew 1:25). Romans 8:29 says, “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brethren”. He is the firstborn of the church, hence He is the head of His body- the Body of Christ.

‘Who is the image of the invisible God, the first born of every creature” (Col 1:15). In verse 17, it says He comes first before all things. Among all of God’s creatures, Jesus is first. And that is why He has pre-eminence. How does the title, The first, benefit us today? He is Alpha – the first so that He can have the pre-eminence. He is first so that He can be on top and above all. Without Him, nothing works.

He is First so that you can be the head, like Him. He is the Head. If you are connected to The Head, you cannot be tail. In Deuteronomy 28:13, He promises that if only you can completely listen to and obey the First – The Head, He will make sure you are not only the head but permanently the head. Headship is an opening – a vacancy created and reserved in the Head – Jesus Christ.

Once He makes you to occupy that space, you will see yourself reflecting His Headship in every area of your life. That was where He put Adam before the fall. But the moment he decided to do it his own way, Adam lost his seat in Christ and he became tail. God has reserved a place for you in Christ. It is a position of permanent headship.

You can be head and first in your academics, in all competitions you participate in You can be head in ministry. You can be head in wealth, progress, and fruitfulness. Many believers are yet to occupy that reserved space. Ask God to help you to occupy your rightful space in Christ from today.

Lord Jesus, because you are the First, make me first in every good thing.

Mark 16: Soul winning, commandment of Jesus

Mark 16 vs. 15- He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

  1. The last wish of Jesus before He left the world is that his disciples should embark on soul winning.
  2. It is often said that the last wish of a man must be respected.
  3. Are you respecting the last request of Jesus?
  4. The prayer request of Jesus is for you to evangelize. Instead of answering this simple prayer request, we bombard Jesus with our prayer requests daily NOT knowing Jesus may not answer our request unless we answer his own request.

Prayers against sudden death: My life shall not be robbed!

John 10:10 records Jesus saying, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full

“The hole made by burglars that robbed my house this morning as my family and I were away worshiping God in the church. My iPad, Apple MacPro laptop and many other valuable items were stolen. Be careful in case the thieves are able to access my mailboxes, Facebook accounts and other Internet data. Thanks” – Pastor Bayo Afolaranmi

Pastor Bayo Afolaranmi, an Internet Ministry Officer of the Nigerian Baptist Convention posted this entry on his facebook page yesterday. As I read it, the ministration I had is that this is the ministry of the thief that Jesus talks about in John 10 vs 10; Praise God the thief only robbed his physical properties, his soul and that of his children were not robbed. The Holy Spirit ministered these prayers to share with the brethren:

  1. Powers planning to rob my life, I kill you in Jesus name
  2. I kill killing powers and and destroy destroying powers in Jesus name.
  3. Dark powers assigned to cut down my life, I cut you down in Jesus name.
  4. Spiritual robbers of souls, my life is not available for you in Jesus name.
  5. Physical and Spiritual robbers assigned against me, be arrested in Jesus name
  6. I pursue, overtake, and recover all good virtues robbed from me in Jesus name.
  7. I kill every robber of my blessings in Jesus name.

Memorise: “In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground: for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return” (Gen 3:19)

Read: Genesis 3:17-19

It is possible for a prince to be trekking when his servants are riding on horse back if such a prince does not know who he is, or that he is supposed to be riding on a horse, or even that the tide has turned against him. In whatever way you have been displaced from riding in your high places, the Lord will intervene and restore you completely in Jesus’ Name. On the other hand, what does trekking suggest? Trekking represents progress.divine liftingThis progress however is limited, slow, laborious. If you are on a journey to the next village and it will take five hours on foot, you can imagine the considerable time, effort, pain and inconvenience you would have to go through. But if you have to undertake that same trip in a brand new car, in some minutes you would be there without experiencing stress or pain. A highly gifted brother was being trained as a worker.

Along the line, there was reason to discipline him. However, he decided to quit the church. Then he had a dream that he was travelling to a particular place but disembarked from the fast moving car that was taking him there and joined a bicycle. When he saw his pastor, and the latter tried to find out why he had stopped coming, he justified his action citing the dream. He told his pastor that he would still get to his destination – even on a bicycle. His pastor carefully pointed out to him that God had brought him into that church so that he could be groomed faster.divine promotion

Going elsewhere was going to retard his progress. Convinced, he returned to the church and adjusted. He grew so fast under that pastor that within a short time he stood out among ministers. Today, his gifts are in high demand in various churches.

In Genesis 3:17-19, Adam who was riding on heavenly horse back began to trek. His efforts were no longer to deliver full benefit to him. Trekking is laborious. Are you investing so much into your ground – business, project, spouse but all you get are thorns and thistles?

You are trekking. Are you imputing the labour of an elephant but receiving the wage or harvest of an ant? You are trekking. Does it take so much effort for you to move a step forward? You are trekking. For everyone that is trekking, there is a force sent to devour his harvest.

Every devourer sent after your harvest this year shall be roasted by fire. In any way you have been trekking, the Lord will bring about a change this season in Jesus’ Name.

Let everything wasting my efforts and destroying my harvests be roasted by fire in Jesus’ Name.

Does God answer all prayer requests?

Memorise: “For the LORD of hosts hath purposed and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?” (Is 14:27)

Read: Deuteronomy 32:37-41

When a need is presented to the wrong person, it is misplaced. It may never be met. One reason some Christians have not obtained their requests from their husbands, parents, relatives or friends, is because they asked a man instead of God. You may need to repent and return to God with the request or it may never be met.prayer requestsAnother lesson from 2 Kings 5:3-7 is that the devil may delay a blessing but may not be able to prevent it. When Satan observed that the ‘but’ in Naaman’s life was about to disappear, he moved to confuse the king so that there could be a misplaced request. If God had not intervened, instead of healing, there would have been another war between Israel and Syria. Today, harmless requests cause war in homes and relationships. Satan specializes in diverting requests.

In Daniel 10:12-14, immediately Daniel prayed, the answer was released. But Satan decided to double cross the angel, which led to a delay of 21 days. God had to send another angel before the answer could reach Daniel. All your delayed prayers shall be released to you this season in Jesus’ Name.

Seeking help from well placed individuals, friends and relatives may appear good but they are misplaced requests. If you go to commercial prophets for special prayers, you are only delaying your miracles. Give your life to Jesus and have direct access to Him. Kings, presidents and governors may be powerful, but they are limited. They, like the Isreali king, cannot heal the sick. He was shocked when he received the letter from his Syrian counterpart. Our God is the only One who cannot be limited. He can kill and give life (Deut 32:39).

Four boys once argued over whose father was the greatest. One said his father was, being the president. The second said since his father was the president’s doctor, he could restrict the movement of the president. The third boy boasted that his father was greater than the father of the other two because he was their juju priest. The fourth boy argued that his father was the greatest because He could kill and make alive.

The other three laughed at him thinking he was referring to his earthly father. But he said he was referring to Jesus Christ. He is the King that can grant all requests. Who is your father?

Are you defaulting in first fruits? Pay it without delay.

Would God forgive my terrible sins?

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Eph 5:16)

Read: Mark 2:1-12

During a trial of faith, God wants to know how elastic your faith is. He will take your faith beyond certain limits, sometimes, even up to breaking point. Yet, He is still in control. To remain intact, keep your faith in the Lord. Are you going through a period of hardship? You will not go under. The Lord will see you through in Jesus’ Name. Isaiah 6:9-12 says it is possible to be staring but not seeing. You can be looking at something but concentrating on what you should not. When you go on the way, you would see all kinds of things, people and events. When you see the opposite sex in nude form, if you concentrate on that, you will be in trouble. Each time you look at the wrong thing, you may not see what you were meant to see. This year, may your eyes see only what God wants them to see in Jesus’ Name.confessions sin

God said He wants the eyes of the people blinded and their hearts fattened with prosperity so that they will not repent and be healed. This tells us that when prosperity comes, it can be a blessing or a curse. Not all those you see getting fat are really blessed. They may just be fattened for the slaughter slab. The heart of Nabal was fattened with wine.

What followed was his obituary (1 Samuel 25:36-38 ). The heart of some become so fattened that they are prone to a heart attack. God’s blessing does not bring you sorrow. Your blessing will not become your undoing in Jesus’ Name. We also learn that repentance brings healing. In today’s passage, when the paralytic was brought, Jesus first forgave his sins before healing him. I have told my children that if a believer is sick and all prayer effort fails, it is advisable to check if there is an unconfessed sin. Sometimes, people prefer to die than confess their sin.

A woman was sick and defied all prayers. When I asked God what was responsible, He asked me to ask her. Initially, she refused to confess but after persuading her that it could assist her healing, she said she was the second wife of her husband. The first wife died and left two boys. Not wanting the boys to inherit the property of her husband, she killed them. She said if her husband knew, he would kill her. She said if confession was the condition for her healing, she was better dead.

Are there pending issues you need to confess? Do so today so that you can be healed. According to Ephesians 5:16, until confession is made, you may not access certain breakthroughs in your health or finance.

Pray for the success of your local church programmes this period.

What is Gods purpose for my life?

Memorise: “Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you” (1 Pet 1:10)

Read: 2 Kings 5:1-5

In 2 Kings 5:2-4, a slave girl was brought into Naaman’s house from Israel. She was a young girl. Although the pains of being separated from parents, friends and loved ones could not be avoided, yet she overcame them fast. She paused to ask herself: “Why me?There are grown adults who could have been more effective even as a slave in a foreign land. But why was I the one taken in their recent raid on Israel?” She frequently pondered on this while she did her domestic chores. Then one day, she mistakenly stumbled on her master – Naaman, going through his depressive mood flanked by his wife and others. They were trying to comfort him after trying a fresh set of treatment that failed to yield any positive result.

She took interest, probed further and got to know that he was a leper. In Syria, it was believed that leprosy was an incurable illness. No leper had any hope of healing.

The slave girl withdrew herself and got thinking. She recalled how in Israel some sick people had an encounter with the prophet of God and were healed. And how other miraculous events had taken place in the lives of individuals, families and the nation through God’s power. Then she wondered why Naaman had not gone to Israel to try God. It was then it occurred to her that God could have brought her through slavery into Naaman’s house to be the link to his miracle! ‘

That’s it!’ She screamed. From that moment, she understood that she was on a divine assignment to connect this lord with his miracle. She did not waste time before telling her mistress that if only they could go to prophet Elisha, Naaman would be healed. When they sent for her, she confirmed it even before the king. She was a link to Naaman’s blessing. Do you know that you are a link to someone’s blessings?

In fact, if you can take your eyes from the negative aspect of your placement or predicament and ask God why He allowed you to be in that situation, you will discover God’s purpose and fulfil it.

God might have denied you a particular request just because He wants you to remain where you are and link somebody connected to your destiny with his or her blessing. Have you discovered those you are meant to link to their blessing? Go ahead and be the link. If not, ask God to show you.

The situation today may be unpleasant. Be expectant of a pleasant tomorrow.

Writing a prayer request

Posted on

Memorise: “For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness” (Ps107:9)

Read: 2 Kings 5:5-7

After the little maid in Naaman’s house had convinced everyone who cared to know that healing was awaiting her master in Israel, the king of Syria took it from there. He wrote the Israeli king that he must cure Naaman of his leprosy. The maid clearly told them where to go – to the national prophet – Elisha but they wrote to the king. This is some diversion. One reason many needs or desires are not met is because they are misplaced. Misplaced requests never get to their destination. In Genesis 30:1-2, Rachel was desperately in need of children. She had tried all she knew how to. One day, she grabbed her husband Jacob by the collar and told him: “It is either you give me children today or I die”. Once again a good request was misplaced. No man gives children because Psalm 127:3 says they are from God.

Asking your spouse for a child is a good but misplaced request. It is essential that requests be properly channelled to the appropriate quarters for action to be taken on them. Some wives or children make good but misplaced requests of their husbands and parents. You are asking the wrong person. Some wives nag their husbands over a particular need to the point that instead of being met, it stirs up anger as in the case of Rachel and Jacob.

“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Phil 4:6). This scripture did not say you should channel some, but all your requests to God. It did not say take all these requests to your husband or father. Why? James 1:17 says every good thing comes from God, not your spouse.

Psalm 107:9 says, “For prayerequestshe satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness”. Although parents should provide for their households or they are worse than unbelievers, they must not be turned into your source. Your spouse is not your source. Your father is not your source: God is your source.

When you have a need, before you make it known to your parents or spouse, first tell your Source – the Lord Jesus Christ. He will decide how the need will be met. If you cultivate the habit of going to God concerning every need, it will save you time and bring your desired results.

Re-address your misdirected requests to the appropriate person – The El-Shaddai.

Sermon: I need God’s help!

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain” (Ps 127:1)Read: Mark 4:35-41
helpAfter the sons of the prophets convinced Elisha to go with them in 2 Kings 6:1-7, they got to the river and began to cut down trees. While doing so, a particular axe head fell into the river Jordan. These students were very worried because it was borrowed. One lesson from this is that the best of plans can go wrong. After putting in place what you may deem a fool-proof plan, and everything suggests a perfect design, something can still go wrong with its implementation.

Psalm 127:1 says, “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain”. Whether you believe it or not, sooner or later you would have to face a storm or two. Do not think that because you have given your life to Christ, there would be no more problems. In fact, that is when you would face problems.

Before you gave your life to Christ, you were in the same camp with the devil, and posed no threat to him. But the day you gave your life to Jesus Christ, you escaped from Satan’s camp. And he will surely attempt to have you back. But thank God the One now inside you is greater than the devil. If Jesus is in your boat and you call upon Him when the storm hits, it will never sink (Mk 4:35-41).

“When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee: and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee” (Is 43:2). If you observe carefully, this passage did not say ‘If’ you pass through fire but ‘when’. This means, at some stage in life you would have to go through fire. This world is not a bed of roses but if Jesus is by your side,

He will cause you to emerge as gold from your fire of affliction or trial. This was the experience of the trio in Nebuchadnezzar’s fire (Dan 3:19-30). Are you going through any fire of affliction, persecution or intense difficulty but you are sure Jesus is still in your boat? Be encouraged. You are coming out of that fire. Your latter state shall be greater than how you were before the fire. No fire can burn you. No river can swallow the ship where the Master of the ocean, earth and skies reigns!

You had a terrific plan on a project or business but something went wrong somewhere. The Lord will help you out as you yield to Him.

Prayers to recover stolen blessings and lost glory

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward” (Gen 15:1)Read: 2 Kings 5:2-4
blessings“After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward” (Gen 15:1). All the power you will ever need is contained in one Name – Jesus, according to Matthew 3:11.

Anyone who really desires to get to Heaven must be acquainted with that Name because He is the only road to the Heavenly planet. That Name can satisfy every need. I discovered a long time ago that if you stop desiring and pursuing things and start to desire and pant after God, you will have everything.

Once you have Jesus, you have everything. A rich man once asked his son to choose one of his property while the rest will go to his faithful slave. The boy was confused on what to take. Fortunately, he met an old man who advised him to choose the slave since he was also part of the rich man’s assets.

The property of the slave belongs to the slave owner. The slave owner automatically controls the slave and all he has. All you need is Jesus. He is all I want. If you have Jesus, you have everything.

In Naaman’s house was a slave girl who was brought from Israel. She became a slave not by choice but by reason of Israel’s inability to protect its citizens against Syrian forces. A leader who fails to provide adequate spiritual cover over his flock would lose them to invading forces. Even after the raid and the young girl was captured, her parents must have reported to the king of Israel, but he did nothing about it. Never be nonchalant over any loss because no loss is totally irrecoverable until Heaven says so.

Make an effort to recover any good thing you have lost. Compared with some fellow Israelites who were captured and taken away to Babylon as slaves in Psalm 137:1-4, this slave girl towered in strength, fortitude and grace. Her counterparts in Babylon were musicians who were captured with their musical instruments but could never recover from that blow. They wept and wept. The request of their captors for them to sing the songs of Zion was turned down.

This was an opportunity to tell them of the God of Israel but they were too blinded to see it, and they lost that opportunity. But this slave girl was not asked but she saw the need and spoke about the power of the God of the Hebrews. Are you too carried away by negative circumstances that you fail to see your opportunities?

Singing songs of freedom in the land of captivity sets you free. Any treasure lost but uncovered, becomes foundation for subsequent losses. Allow no loss!

How to overcome greed

Memorise: “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (1 Tim 6:10)Read: 1 Timothy 6:9-10
Without a bait, the hunter’s trap may not catch its target. A bait is very attractive and almost irresistible. For thousands of years, Satan has used certain baits to get many believers into his traps. Let us examine some of them. The first is the love of money. 1 Timothy 6:9-10 says this is the root of all evil. Virtually every evil on earth can be traced to the love of money. The love of money has separated good friends, whole families, churches, etc. It is good to listen to messages on prosperity because God wants you to prosper. But you should know also that God has His path to prosperity. Prosperity by all means or get-rich-quick syndrome are from Satan.

Anyone who tells you to do something which you cannot disclose to your spouse or anybody is definitely not clean. Ignore the fellow. If you make money the underlying consideration for virtually all you do, you would become a victim of Satan’s snare. When money is your main motivation in ministry, you are gone. The love of money is fast eroding voluntary Christian work in church. Believers now want to be paid for rendering regular departmental services. If earth pays you for such services, then be prepared to be without any reward from Heaven. You have to redefine your relationship with money.

Closely allied with the love of money is greed. This has caused great havoc in human relationship. A brother into estate business could not get patronage for a while. He had a particular property but none to hire it. One day, a fellow brother – a policemen linked him with a relative who needed the apartment, and agreed to take it. The brother was glad.

When this police brother was told the rent, he saw it as an opportunity to make a fortune from his relative. He highly inflated the rent and was already calculating what he was going to do with his lion share. After all, his relative was very wealthy and could afford it. But when the amount involved was prohibitive, the would-be client turned it down and that was the end of that business. Both parties lost out to greed! Greed has denied many contractors several businesses and opportunities. Is greed operating in your life?

Repent and put Jesus first. Greed will yet hinder the breakthrough of many. Don’t be its victim!

Let every root of greed in my life be destroyed in Jesus’ Name.

Counselling tips on premarital sex and relationships

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge” (Heb 13:4)Read: Matthew 1:17-19
counsellingThe genealogy listed here included even those who were carried away in exile into Babylon and those born in the land of captivity. The fact that they were in captivity did not exempt them from this list. This means that all achievements and accomplishments for God’s Kingdom during captivity – wilderness period are noted by Heaven and remain relevant as far as God is concerned.

You should never be tired or discouraged during your trying moments. You will not lose your reward. Infact, service in the most difficult times attracts greater rewards for the believer.

Although not too much is said about Joseph in the Bible, this passage tells us one or two things about him. He was a morally upright and God fearing man. He was betrothed to Mary yet he never defiled their bed. Unfortunately, many would- be couples today have taken their consent to marry as an excuse to fornicate or engage in sex before marriage.

Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge”. The moment you engage in premarital sex before or during courtship with the one you want to marry, it erodes honour in your marriage. You cannot eat your cake and have it! You cannot defile your bed and retain the honour God has prepared to envelope you and your spouse.

Do you know that if Joseph had forced his way into sleeping with Mary before their marriage, she would never have been the mother of Jesus? But because they kept their bed, God decided to honour them by asking His only begotten Son to come through that couple. Do you know that God still rewards couples who keep to God’s Word and ensure their bed is undefiled? You can be like Mary and Joseph.

Keep yourself pure. Your body is not for fornication. You abuse your body when you fornicate. Your body was never designed to be used for fornication. Stop abusing your body through illicit sex, lustful exploits in nudity and pornography! Stop engaging your mind in polluted thoughts! Keep your heart pure.

The choice you make today determines the events of tomorrow. Watch your choices.

Bible study on: I am the Alpha and Omega

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer” (Ps 45:1)Read: Psalm 45:1-2
alphaJesus is the Alpha and Omega. He is the letters A and Z. He is in control of letters. No wonder He chooses His words whenever He speaks and none of them is powerless. Another implication of Jesus as the Alpha and the Omega is that, He is the Greatest Writer and Author. No wonder His book – the Bible remains the greatest best-seller all through the ages. It is a combination of prose, poetry, poems, historical accounts, future events, and the plan of God for the ages written in a most interesting way. A super book with 66 separate books, yet it has the same general theme – Jesus.

This therefore gives writers hope. Are you a Christian writer battling with ideas? Go to the Alpha and Omega. He can give you the ideas to do several books in your lifetime. Whenever you are running out of ideas, go to the Alpha and Omega, worship the One in control of all written works and thank Him for fresh ideas.

Your writer’s block will give way to a fresh flow. He is the writer’s resource. This is also the hope of everyone doing a project or thesis. As long as it has to do with letters, He will help you out.

“My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer” (Ps 45:1). Some writers are ready to write while others have nothing to write. Grace differentiates them.. When under the influence of the Alpha and Omega, there is a flow because grace is released.

Some students of higher institutions have completed the course work of their programmes particularly post graduate programmes, but either have not started or have gotten stuck with their projects. Continuing has been a struggle. A change is coming your way now. There is a user of this Devotional who got stuck on a project. Grace is released to you now.

You are being connected with the Alpha and Omega and the strength to continue and complete what you have started is being released to you now. Remember to thank Him and testify of it to His praise and glory. In the Name of Jesus, whatever is responsible for inability to continue that writing is broken now. Receive your release today. Worship the Alpha and Omega. You are free in Jesus’ Name.

The greatest treasure of any writer is the Alpha and Omega. Do you have Him?

How to ensure Gods presence in our lives

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid , neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest” (Joshua 1:9)Read: Exodus 3:10-12
God's presenceIn 2 Kings 6:1-7, students of the prophetic school met Elisha to take permission before erecting a bigger school. We must discuss all our plans with God before any action is taken. Also, after their discussion with Elisha, he permitted them. This shows that God is interested in expansion. The Almighty God wants it to be well with you. God does not benefit from your sorrow, poverty or pain.

Infact, if you remain poor, it may be difficult for you to win souls to Christ. They may question why your God cannot take care of you. According to the story, one of the sons of the prophets who was very smart was not contented with obtaining permission but further asked Elisha to come with them. And he obliged.

This year, do not go anywhere unless God is prepared to follow you. Today, one reason many believers are going round in circles is because they fail to involve God in their daily activities. They limit God to a secondary role – nothing more. But if you could ask Moses, he would tell you that the secret of success is the divine presence.

In today’s reading, God assured Moses of His presence in an assignment. In Joshua 1:9, God told Joshua, “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid , neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest”. As long as God is with you, you are bound to prosper.

According to Acts 10:38, the secret of the success of Jesus Christ while on earth was God’s abiding presence. This year, the Lord will be with you. Also, we see that true to his promise, Elisha followed them. This reminds us that God is not a liar. When He makes promises, He keeps them (Num 23:19). The ability to keep promises falls in the realm of integrity. Today, many do not know what integrity is. They say one thing but do something entirely different.

Many men of God have lost their integrity. If you cannot keep to your word, your position, anointing and eternity are all mortgaged. Every lie a servant of God tells makes him to misrepresent God. I do not know of a lying God but only of the father of all liars – Satan. If you lie as a leader, you are headed for eternal hell, your ecclesiastical position notwithstanding.

Watch your tongue! Don’t promise what your power cannot perform. Pray that God will be with the President and Vice President of this nation and that they will serve the people in righteousness, equity and justice.

Bible scriptures on dreams” Are dreams real and true?

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” (1 Thess 5:21)Read: Genesis 37:23-24
There are basic reasons for dreams. There are secondary dreams which are given to others which are meant to help you. However, there is an ultimate purpose for dreams: It is to keep you going especially in hard times when everything looks bleak, and you are not sure of what may happen. If you have a dream that you look forward to, it will prevent you from giving up or even committing suicide in the face of hardship. There are some revelational dreams or childhood dreams that may not be fulfilled in the next 10, 20, 30, or more years: It doesn’t matter. As long as you are sure it is from the Lord, hold on to it. It shall connect with other dreams and eventually materialize. In this sense, dreams are very powerful motivators.

Any dream God has given for your life is worth dying for. Never let it slip through your finger! If you look at the life of Joseph, you will observe that he was greatly motivated by his childhood dream. And he stuck to it throughout his travails until it came to pass. Never allow anything or anyone to separate you from your Heaven-sent dream. Once you give up the dream of your life, you may have nothing else to live for. When Joseph was thrown into a pit in Genesis 37:23-24, he knew he would not die. If he died, how would his dream of his brothers bowing to him be fulfilled?

When he was sold into slavery far away from his place of birth, he knew his dream would come to pass. In Genesis 40:14-15, when Joseph asked the butler to remember him, he was actually saying he knew he was not going to die in prison because his dream had spoken good concerning his future. If there was one person who stuck to his dream, it was Joseph. Another person who held unto his dream was Paul.

In Acts 23:11, the Lord told him he would testify of Him in Rome. He went through several problems and formidable hindrances yet he held on fast to what the Lord told him. He knew when they suffered a shipwreck and everyone’s life was in danger that he would outlive it. Has God made you a promise?

Has God given you a dream? Hold fast to it. It shall come to pass. You will not die before the realization of your dream. Hence, like Joseph, cut off anything that can separate you from the One who will fulfil that dream.

Your life’s dream is a powerful weapon against death, discouragement and the devil: Use it well!

Sermon on God as the alpha and omega

Posted on

Memorise: “I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation” (Ps 119:99)Read: Psalm 119:97-104
alphaJesus is the Alpha and Omega (Rev 1:8). As a result of this, He has control over any written work. Being the letters A and Z, He has absolute control over every alphabet. It is when He empowers words formed by alphabets that they become what they were meant to be. Also, being in control of alphabets, He can decide to give an illiterate person the knowledge of alphabets and the fellow will write or communicate sensibly using letters or alphabets. There are testimonies of believers without knowledge of the English language, who sought the help of the Alpha and Omega and began to read and understand their English Bibles. One of my daughters went on a missionary trip sometime ago. She got to this distant village and wanted to share the love of Jesus with them but could not speak the language. She felt stuck. How could language be a barrier to the Gospel of Jesus Christ?Suddenly, the Alpha and Omega gave her the understanding and utterance and she spoke the language of the natives fluently, leading several of them to Christ through it.

In Acts 2:1-13, when the Holy Ghost came at Pentecost, the Alpha and Omega gave the believers the power of alphabets in languages they never learnt and they began to speak languages of other nations. If you have been baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, the Alpha and Omega has performed part of His work in you. But it doesn’t end there.

Being in control of alphabets also means He is in control of all knowledge. He can turn a dullard into a most brilliant person. He can make the intelligent more knowledgeable than his teachers (Ps 119:99). To benefit from such divine gifts from the Alpha and Omega, be born again and receive Him into your heart. Meditate regularly on His Word and practice it. Be a doer of the Word of God.

Take time to worship Him regularly as the Alpha and Omega – the One who is in control of all knowledge, wisdom and understanding. Regularly relate with Him by the name or title you want Him to reveal Himself to you by. Then ask Him to manifest Himself to you as the Alpha and Omega.

When last did you worship Jesus as the Alpha and Omega? Spend 30 minutes doing so now!

Prayers points to cancel evil reports

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (Rev 1:8)Read: Revelation 1:7-11
“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8). In this verse, several names and titles of Jesus are mentioned. Remember the Lord has no business with several titles other than the fact that He wants to meet the various needs of His children. He says, ‘I am Alpha’.What are the implications of Jesus as Alpha? Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. That is, He is the A and Z. It means Jesus Christ is the beginning and the ending of every writing, literary work or drawing. This gives Him absolute control and power over everything that is written on earth, in Heaven or beneath the earth. To His own, being Alpha and Omega therefore means He is able to control whatever is written concerning you. He can blot out any negative writing. He can modify or completely rewrite the story of your life. It means if anyone writes you off, He can write you in.”Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross” (Col 2:14). Whether you believe it or not, there are certain writings done in the spiritual realm that are affecting or directing physical events taking place in the lives of many today.

Every writing that is done against you and your family is nullified by the blood of the Alpha and Omega today. He has power over every alphabet. That means, He can decide to assign powers to or withdraw powers from words and alphabets. For instance, if you are given a negative writing such as HIV/AIDS positive by your doctor or laboratory technician, the Alpha and Omega can withdraw the power of the letters, reduce them to ordinary letters and defeat the purpose.

Every letter of sack, confirmation or certification of an ailment against you shall lose their power today in Jesus’ Name. It does not matter whether the inscription, verdict or writing is done on sand, in pencil, biro, red ink, gold, brass or engraved in gold or brass, the Alpha and Omega has power over every alphabet.

From today, every alphabet that is organized into words against you will miss its target because the Alpha and Omega is on your side. Worship Him today.

Within the next 30 minutes, cancel all negative handwritings against your destiny and that of your family.

What does it mean to become a born again christian?

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (Jn 4:24 )Read: Matthew 13:5-6
born againBlessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). The beatitudes present powerful foundational truths every Heaven-bound believer must not toy with. To be ‘poor’ suggests a lack or deficiency in something. The one who is impoverished in health is sick. The financially impoverished is one who needs money to make ends meet. The fellow who is poor in health will be in pursuit of healing. The one who is financially poor will most likely be found in a prosperity -preaching church because he needs money. A man who is poor in spirit will be in pursuit of spiritual things. In the above passage, our Lord Jesus Christ blessed those who are seeking spiritual things. It is what you seek you are likely to find, especially when you seek it correctly. If you seek spiritual things you will most likely find it.Why did Jesus say those seeking spiritual things are blessed? It is because God Himself is a spirit. John 4:24 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth”. Also, Hebrews 12:9 says God is the Father of spirits. Jesus said the Kingdom of God belongs to seekers of spiritual things. This means that the Kingdom of God is the Kingdom of spirits. In John 18:36, Jesus said His Kingdom is not of this world. To enter His Kingdom, you must be born of the Spirit (Jn 3:5-6 ).

Today, the term ‘Born Again’ has almost lost its meaning. Just anything can now be born again. We now have born again gangsters, prostitutes, rebels and even politicians. An evil genius once called himself a born again democrat. Whether the term is misapplied or not, God’s Word is clear on the subject.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says to be born again, you must make Jesus Christ your dwelling place and become a brand new creature. Your old sinful life-style must go and a life-style of holiness must replace it. Without this, there is no true born again experience. John 3:5-6 says if you are still seeking the things of the flesh, you are yet in the flesh.

Those in the flesh will be preoccupied with how they dress – what they will wear and how to make dressy impressions. But those in the spirit want to please God. If you are remembered by your dressing, you have lost God’s glory. When God’s glory is upon you, nobody will notice what you wear because your face will radiate His glory. Are you born again? How are you known?

Ask God to create a hunger in you for spiritual things. Ask that you be known by the character of Christ.

How to overcome phobia of evil spirits and fear of witchcraft

Memorise: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Eph 2:6)Read: Deuteronomy 32:7-13
eagle“He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock” (Deut 32:13 ).The eagle is a super bird. It is known to take higher flights because it wants to remain different. You will not see an eagle flying low. If it ever comes low, it is to pick its prey and up it returns. In the airways, there are higher and lower routes. The eagle deliberately selects the higher route. In today’s reading, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is compared to an eagle. He rides on the higher places. Ephesians 1:20-21 says Christ is raised above all and made to seat far above all dominion, power or throne. Jesus is not a crawler: He is a Super Eagle. Anyone who is riding on eagle’s wings will automatically fly as high as the eagle.

Being a child of the Super Eagle, you become an eaglet yourself. You would suddenly take the traits of the Eagle.

“And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church” (Ephesians 1:22). Power emanates from above. Even in the secular hierarchy, the higher you rise in the organizational structure, the more powerful you become.

The Lord Jesus Christ is positioned far higher than all satanic and human authorities hence, He is far more powerful than them. This is why all other powers are beneath His feet. This means, whenever He wants, He treads on the powers of darkness, and none of them can resist Him.

Ephesians 2:6 says, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”. Do you know that as Jesus was positioned in heavenly places so also were believers in Christ? In fact, Jesus Christ is our placement. Unfortunately, many believers become doubting Thomases when it comes to this, or simply refuse to act it out. Any believer who is constantly living in defeat is ignorant of who he is in Christ.

If you are afraid of witches and wizards and the occult, you are operating far below your spiritual placement in Christ. You should put the enemies to flight and not run from them. You are above them! If you are truly flying, no enemy can catch up with you.

Search through the scriptures and write out passages that talk about your spiritual placement and authority. Believe, confess and enforce them.

overcomeSome years ago, there was a popular native doctor in Akure, Nigeria. He was extremely ruthless and several people flocked regularly to him. But his shrine was next to the factory of one of my children. One day, this son of mine came to lay a complaint about the terror in his domain. He said each time he went around his factory, he saw mutilated bodies of children – bodies with no heads or genitals. He wanted the man to relocate. When I went to Akure, he showed me the place.I simply lifted my right hand and commanded him to be moved in Jesus’ Name. My son asked me, ‘Is that all?’ Then I told him there are times for regular prayers and there are times for decrees. The fetish priest had built his shrine around an iroko tree. Within seven days of that decree, the iroko tree dried up. And within another seven days the man died.

Today, I decree that every satanic nuisance in your life will stop now in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ. I command every satanic strong hold around you to move.

Apart from the fact that Moses’ hands were special, the rod in his hands was not an ordinary one. In Exodus 7:10-12, the same rod swallowed the magicians’ serpents in Egypt. Every evil force that will not allow you to reach your goal shall be swallowed today in Jesus’ Name. From today’s reading, it is glaring that Satan can counterfeit God’s miracles. Satan has never performed a miracle, only magic.

A miracle is the authentic version of a divine intervention in human affairs, while magic is the fake attempt to replicate it. So don’t be amazed when people of the occult perform magic. Another lesson here is that both the forces of good and evil know which is real and which is fake. Satan fakes speaking in tongues in a bid to deceive the undiscerning, but when he comes face to face with a genuinely Spirit – filled believer, he panics because the difference is clear.

Similarly, from today’s reading, God’s power supersedes that of Satan. And just as the rod of Moses swallowed the snakes of the Egyptian magicians, every agent of darkness fighting against you will lose their weapons to the power of the Holy Spirit inside of you. Ask in faith today. You can relocate that enemy today!

You are light. Darkness should not dwell with or around you. Command every agent of darkness living around you to relocate now.

Bible on Jesus as the advocate and intercessor

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 Jn 2:2)Read: 1 John 2:1-2
advocateThe Lord Jesus Christ is a lover of names. Each time He introduces Himself or He is introduced by an angel or a member of the Godhead, He may be called by a new name or title. One of such names is Good Tidings of Great Joy.The name of a powerful man is of great significance both to the owner and anyone who comes under its influence. In today’s reading, in a general epistle to the body of believers, Jesus is introduced as the Advocate with the Father. Why is He our advocate? According to 1 John 1:7-9, it is to ensure that His atoning blood is still effective in cleansing us from sin even after we are saved. But for this provision, all believers who sinned after their salvation experience would have been eternally doomed.

Here, we are told that provided believers do not deliberately engage in sin, but continue to walk in the light of the Word of God they have received, fellowship with other believers and immediately confess sin, the blood will avail for them.

“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). According to Hebrews 7:24-25, another reason He is called our Advocate is so that He can intercede for us. Do you know that just as you need man to intercede for you, so also you need members of the Godhead to intercede on your behalf . The Advocate and the Holy Spirit intercede for us in Heaven.

For instance, in Luke 22:31, when Satan had concluded his plan to turn Peter – the most zealous of the 12 into a reprobate, it took the intercession of the Advocate to spoil that plan.

In addition, Jesus is our Advocate so that He can represent us before every court whether in Heaven or earth. In those courts, you need a lawyer to defend you, or else once the accuser of the brethren brings a case against you, and there is no one to defend you, the case will be decided against you.

One way the Advocate represents us is by getting His blood to speak on our behalf (Heb 12:24). Every case raised against you in witches’ covens and kingdom of darkness shall be struck out by the blood of Jesus. Also, He is our advocate so as to help us package our prayer requests for expedited answers. If Jesus is your advocate, you will never lose any case on earth or in Heaven. Employ His services today!

Unlike earthly lawyers who are limited to earthly courts, the Advocate can represent you anywhere in and outside our planet where there is a case against you.

How to solve hard and difficult problems

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich (2 Cor 8:9)Read: Psalm 75:5-7
praWhen God’s blessings overflow your containers and you are now looking for more to contain them, that is a good problem. This year, the Lord will give you a good problem in Jesus’ Name. In 2 Kings 6:1-7, that was the type of problem the sons of the prophet came to report to Elisha. Just as you have good problems, you equally have bad problems . Sickness is a bad problem.Thank God for the provision He has made for our healing in 1 Peter 2:24. Poverty is a bad problem. You can be the poorest fellow on earth, yet if you are not born again, you would still go to hell. God never admits the poor into Heaven for the sake of their poverty. Let no one deceive you that poverty admits into Heaven. It doesn’t!On the other hand, you can be the richest fellow on earth, yet if you are born again and live holy, you will get to Heaven and see God. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says Jesus Christ entered into an exchange program so that you can have His riches. This season, you shall be a full beneficiary of this exchange programme.Bondage is another bad problem. It is what draws you back whenever you want to move forward. If you can surrender to the Lord of Hosts today, the yoke of bondage shall be destroyed and you will be free. Barrenness is also a bad problem. This could take several forms. It could manifest as inability to procreate – have your own children. It could be inability to generate ideas that will cause you to make progress at work.

John 15:5 says if you can make Jesus your permanent abode from today, the problem of barrenness will be over. Remaining on the same level for years is another manifestation of barrenness. Some people have not known progress as they have remained on a fixed salary. When God promotes you, it is progressive. You will find yourself going higher every day. Psalm 75:5-7 says true promotion emanates from God.

There is a limit to which any man can promote you, even your friends; most people will not want their friends to surpass them. Even when a man wants to go the whole hog in promotion, he cannot lift you higher than his hands can go. But the Everlasting arms of the Most High cannot be limited. Ask God to put an end to every bad problem in your life today.

What is that bad problem in your church, or place of work? Ask the Lord to solve it today.

Qualities and attributes of a fake ad true born again christian

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit” (Jn 3:6)Read: John 3:5-6
fakeIf you are born again, it will show in various compartments of your life. It will affect your desires, priorities, goals and association. In John 3:6, Jesus says, ” That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the spirit is spirit”.Every human being experiences a fleshly birth. Even if it were possible to enter your mother’s womb and be reborn, it is still a fleshly biological birth. But there is a spiritual birth. It is when you take a trip to the womb of the Spirit and you are born a new creation. That is the new birth. Without this, man is lost. One thing about this spiritual birth is that it will stir up intense hunger for spiritual things.A young secondary school student was in form four when he became born again during the holidays. Thereafter, he returned to his former church but it was no longer fun. The religious activities he used to enjoy now became a drab. He began to thirst after righteousness but was not satisfied. He felt like someone being starved. He soon saw himself like a stranger in a church he attended from his childhood. At some point, he went to counsel with his spiritual parents and was asked to move to a gospel church. That was where his spiritual needs were met.

The day you are born again something dies. You claim to be born again yet you still keep girl friends, smoke, steal, cheat, or fornicate. That claim is highly questionable. You claim to be born again yet you do not pant after spiritual things – to study God’s Word, pray, fast , read Christian books, fellowship within a living church, etc.

It is either you are born again or you are not. There is nothing like partially saved. Ask some people why they claim to be born again and they will tell you, ‘I used to chain-smoke but now I take just one cigarette daily’. ‘ Or, I used to have several girl friends but now I have one’. Or, “I used to demand bribes before but now I only receive the one I am given: afterall, I did not ask for it’.

Congratulations. You are getting close to the Kingdom of God. But the day you truly realize you are a sinner, confess and forsake your sins and receive Jesus into your heart, you will be saved. That day you will begin to notice some changes taking place from within .There is no New Birth without commensurate change.

Where are the fruits of repentance in your life and character?

Bible commentary: Why did Jesus said I am the door?

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture” (Jn 10:9)Read: John 20:18-20
doorIn Matthew 28:1-7, some devoted women went to Jesus’ grave side and found to their surprise that the stone had been rolled away and that He had risen. An angel had descended and rolled away the stone. Many of us believe that the angel rolled back the stone for Jesus to come out. I differ.Jesus was already out before the stone was rolled away because there is no stone that could keep Him in since He is the Door. If He is the Door, He does not need a door to get out. In John 20:19, when the disciples of Jesus were gathered in a place, and all doors were securely locked, suddenly, they found Him in their midst. In other words, He came in through the locked doors being the access way. No door of blessing can be permanently shut against a true believer. Why? Even where the doors are shut, Jesus the Door will be his access. Do enemies think they have shut you out of your breakthrough, fruitfulness or promotion? They are misinformed. If nothing could keep Jesus Christ out, nothing can keep you locked out. As long as you have Jesus, you cannot be limited. The only place the Lord may not enter except He is invited, is the heart of man. Have you opened your heart to Him today?

A man was dying in a hospital bed. The doctor looked at him and said, “Oh we better call in the priest since he is a Catholic “. While they went for the priest, someone came in and gave the man a tract which introduced Jesus to him. Right there and then, the dying man gave his life to Christ. When the priest returned, he administered the last holy communion to prepare him for death.

As soon as the priest left and shut the door after him, somebody in white came through the closed door and served him his first right communion. By the time the doctor returned to check if he had died, he met him completely whole. The stone was not rolled back for Jesus but for the women so that their source of worry could be eliminated. What are you worrying about? Trust in the Door to make a way for you. Every door the enemies have shut will no longer stop you because the Door Himself will be your access.

Ask the Door to give you access into all closed doors of opportunity.

Does God accept all offerings and tithes?

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me” (Jn 14:30)Read: Deuteronomy 23:17-18
tithesAnother divine partnership requirement is that one must not touch unclean things. John 14:30 says, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me”. What you get involved with will determine if you can be God’s partner or not. Your hands refer to the means by which you fend for yourself – particularly the right hand.If you are involved in any dubious business, you cannot be His partner. If you make a living from prostitution, you cannot be His partner. Deuteronomy 23:18 says, “Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow; for even both these are abomination unto the LORD thy God”.Those sisters who promise brothers marriage intending to derive only monetary and material blessings from them are increasing by lies. They cannot be God’s partner. The promotion or favours you obtain from flirtatious flings with your boss or leader amounts to dogs’ wages. If you tithe such supposed ‘windfall’, you can be assured it is an abomination to God.Unfortunately, several testimonies by some believers glorify Satan and should never have been shared in church in the first place.

If you took bribes at your work place and purchased a car, built a house or performed some feat, God cannot be your partner. You have touched the unclean thing and your hands are defiled. If you paid tithes on such money, your pastor will thank you if his spiritual eyes and ears are not open, but God will reject it.

So much tithes, seeds and gifts brought to the church have no rewards because the hands of the givers are defiled. Any increase that comes to you out of lies, deception, immorality, or any form of sinfulness must be rejected. If you must be a partner of the King of kings, your hands must not touch anything that defiles. What is it you are doing that could prevent you from being a partner of the Lord? Repent, and turn a new leaf today.

Are your hands and heart clean?

Prayer points for divine protection

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him” (Is 59:19)Read: Isaiah 59:18-19
protectionParting the Red Sea also means taking a giant stride that has never been taken before, or that is not commonly taken. Until Moses parted the Red Sea, the children of Israel could not go forward, even when God instructed them to do so. They could not obey God until Moses first obeyed.Until the pastor or leader gives towards church projects, most members will not give. Until the pastor is seen paying his tithe, the members of the congregation may remain complacent towards tithing. Anything you want the congregation to do, go ahead and do it: first, be the one to break the ice.

If you want them to respond to church evangelism, be the first to come. Win souls and challenge them. As long as you are not prepared to take that giant stride for the Kingdom, your sheep will remain limited. What are those areas you are yet to lead members on? Go ahead and do so today. When they see you doing it, they will follow.Another thing we observe in Exodus 14:19-20 is that God directed the angel and the pillar of cloud which were both ahead of the Israelites, to relocate behind them, so that there would be a separation between Israel and Egypt. This tells us that if you are walking in God’s will, you need not fear those coming behind you: your back is already taken care of because God is right at your back. Every arrow shot at your back shall be absorbed by the presence of God behind you.

Also, there is always a separation between light and darkness, day and night, believers and unbelievers. As long as God is behind you, your enemies can never catch up with you. Everyone chasing you shall never catch you in Jesus’ Name. Isaiah 59:19 says, “So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him”.

In other words, the Holy Spirit will separate you from every flood of attack of the enemy. Hence, Romans 8:31 says none can be an effective enemy against you as long as God is on your side. He will remain the dividing line. This year, the Lord will separate you from armed robbers, ritualists, fraudsters and hired assassins. Draw closer to Him as never before. However, for God to separate you from the evil ones, you must be separated from sin, Satan and the world.

According to Isaiah 59:19, ask the Holy Spirit to raise a standard against every satanic flood sent your way this season.

Christian Inspirational message for today

“He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength” ( Is 40:29)Read: John 21:1-3
the wordIt is possible to become weak while running the Christian race. Luke 18:1 says, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint”. It is also possible for the one who is running this race to faint. After the death and burial of the Lord Jesus Christ, Peter became tired. At a point, he fainted and returned to his secular assignment. The danger with fainting is that as the fellow goes down, he takes several others with him. When Peter fainted, he took six apostles with him. Have you resigned from pastoring or from being on full time service for the Lord? It is because you have fainted. When you visit the altar of consecration and pull out your wood of consecration one after the other, you have fainted. When you go back on your Nazarite vows, you have fainted.”If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small” ( Prov 24:10). The fainting believer is one who has almost totally lost all strength. Are you fainting? The Lord will restore strength to you this minute. Divine strength is surging into you, displacing physical weakness.

Are you fainting concerning an assignment God gave to you? Be encouraged. This is part of what we have to go through in this unusual race. Are you in a situation where you have no strength to continue? Isaiah 40:29 says, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength”.

You are a candidate for divine empowerment. God’s angel is injecting you now with dozes of strength. Your strength is taking a raise. At the garden of Gethsemane, the Lord had to face His final battle against the flesh and the forces of evil. He had lost so much strength, yet He must win that battle. Without it, God’s salvation plan would not come to light.

In that moment of tiredness, depression, indecision and agony, an angel came and gave Him some dozes of strength. And He overcame for the whole of mankind. You too will overcome that depressive moment. It is well with you.

The fainting Christian is both a danger to himself and others. Ask God to empower you and trigger your spiritual revival.

Prayers to receive help from God in times of need

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help” (Ps 121:1)

Read: John 1:9-12

God sends earthquakes to get the attention of people, also to open prison doors and set the captives free. In addition, God can use an earthquake as a sign of answered prayers, and evidence of His presence like it happened in Acts 4:23-31. It can also be to bring judgement upon the wicked like it happened to those who rebelled against His servant Moses (Numbers 16:28-35).help from GodThis season, every formation of the wicked shall be swallowed up by God’s earthquake in Jesus’ Name. Another thing we can note in Matthew 28:1-7 is that an angel of God descended from Heaven before the stone on the door of the tomb could be rolled away. In times past and until now help has always come from above to those who look unto God. Hence, Psalm 121:1 says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help”. Whatever must raise you must be above you. Is it easy for someone standing beside you to lift you above him?

Your help is not from man. Stop looking at that better placed school mate or relative for help. Your help is up above you. Your help comes from above. Trust in God and your help will locate you through any human channel. Yet, no man is the source – only a channel!

However, the beautiful thing about the descent of this angel was that the women never prayed for the stone to be rolled away: They only got there and found it already rolled away. By this, God was making a statement that if you are truly devoted to Him, help will come to you even before you ask for it. There is a user of this Devotional: the Lord is giving you what you never asked for because of your past devotion to Him. Remember to thank Him when this materializes.

Power from above is now available for you. Have you been struggling to live on your limited strength, wisdom, or resources without success for so long? The good news is that power is now available from above. You can never live above sin in your strength. Yield to God today. He can empower you to do your daily work. Have you been failing over certain assignments? From now, you shall succeed. Tap into His power.

Father, before the end of today, let there be a definite turn around in my situation.

Prayers for faith in God during hard times

Posted on

Memorise: “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief” (Heb 3:19)

Read: Deuteronomy 34:1-5

God can make the seeing to become blind especially after refusing to heed several warnings. What has the Lord been speaking to you about which you have paid deaf ears to? Repent and obey Him fast before your mind goes blind. It is also possible to see but not enjoy what has been seen. It is one thing to see a blessing before hand and another to actually partake in it.Esau and Reuben saw the blessing of the first born coming but they never partook of it. Nothing can be as painful as seeing what should have come to you go to some other person. You shall not lose your blessings this year in Jesus’ Name.

In 2 Kings 7:1-20, in the wake of turn around over the Samarian siege, the set man – prophet Elisha proclaimed a sudden economic revival that would take the nation from extreme lack and deprivation to the other end of the continuum – extreme provision and abundancefaith in God

The Economic Adviser of the king tried in vain to figure it out, applying all known indices but could not, so he told the prophet, ‘It is impossible’. Prophet Elisha’s reply came like a bombshell: “You shall see it with your eyes but you shall not participate in it”. It appeared like a joke. Within 24 hours, the breakthrough came for Samaria. The king assigned his Economic Adviser to be in-charge of the distribution.

If only the man had known that that crucial assignment was his death warrant, he would not have accepted it. God will not allow you to accept any appointment or promotion that will destroy you in Jesus’ Name.

The Economic Adviser of the king of Samaria saw the national breakthrough but never partook of it because of unbelief. Hebrews 3:19 says, “So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief”.

Any blessing you cannot believe God for cannot be possessed. In today’s reading, Moses saw the promised land but did not step into it. It is a curse to see and not possess. He flouted God’s instruction. He did not give God all His glory. He carried out God’s instruction in anger. What is that thing that can make you to see and not possess?

Ask God to uproot it from your life today. Are you paying attention to God’s genuine prophet?

Father, let my hands possess every blessing my eyes have seen.

How do I tame my tongue according to Bible scriptures?

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man” (Col 4:6)

Read: 1 John 2:15-17

It is possible for Generals to be swept away by the things of the world. In 2 Timothy 4:10, Apostle Paul said one of his able lieutenants, Demas could not resist the pull of the spirit of worldliness. At some point in their ministry, he gave up on God, left Paul and went after the world. This is why we must be careful of the attention and resources in time and money that we devote in pursuit of earthly things.Today’s reading commands us not to love the world. It is possible to live in the world and not love it. It is possible to live in the world and not be defiled by worldly pollution and allurement.

When we look at the lives of those who missed it on the Christian path, it is so that we can avoid the same pitfalls. Anything your flesh enjoys doing is most likely at variance with what God wants done. What are the worldly things you must avoid? Avoid worldly language.

Matthew 12:36 says one day, you will account for misuse of tongue. Believers speak like Christ. It is wrong to use swear words. It is wrong to say things that fan the embers of lust, greed or vengeance in someone. Your tongue is not for swearing. Some believers still swear anytime they want to convince someone that they are telling the truth in a matter. You can wear over a lie yet that does not turn it into the truth. Believers do not swear.

If you are truly a Christian, your word is your bond. People should be able to take you at your word without any iota of disappointment. Your tongue is not meant to insult or abuse others. If you hear some so-called ministers’ wives use their tongues, you will be ashamed to be identified with them.tame the tongue

Colossians 4:6 says your speech must always contain a seasoning -salt. It must sweeten the heart of the hearers. It must bless them. Today, although still regular in church, many believers and ministers have returned to the world in their manner of speech. They are copying the language of the world.

Today, some believers conveniently abuse people and they feel right, yet they could not do this some years before. How is it with your tongue today? What kind of words do you release from your mouth? If you speak like the world, you will end where they will end. Repent today and ask God to deliver your mouth from backsliding.

Ask God to open doors for the Gospel to penetrate all Arab nations and raise die-hard evangelists and pastors in those countries.

God as a warrior, God as a man of war

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”( Rom 8:31)

Read: Joshua 10:8-11

The Almighty God is a war veteran who is not only good at fighting on land, but also at sea. Every battle against you this year coming from the land or sea shall be terminated and frustrated by the Man of war in Jesus’ Name. Our God is also an expert in air battles.godasawarriorThe air forces of the world have a lot to learn from Him. The airways belong to Him. You cannot know a house better than the designer, builder or owner. In Exodus 9 when Pharaoh refused to release the Israelites, God took over the air and sent grievous flies in their billions. Instead of breathing clean air, the Egyptians breathed in flies and many lost their lives in the process (Ps 78:45).

Also, He raised series of thunder peals and large hail stones from Heaven upon Egypt (Ex 9:22-26). In today’s reading, when five kings connived against Joshua because he was succeeding, God sent bombs from Heaven which killed most of them. Every enemy against you from the air this year shall become a casualty of heavenly bombs in Jesus’ Name. Every satanic force operating against you shall be roasted this season in Jesus’ Name.

When the Almighty God is on your side, victory is certain. Romans 8:31 confirms this, hence you have nothing to fear. Which enemy can attack you without passing through the air, land or sea? If it is through any of these, then you have nothing to fear. Battles under the earth are under His control.

He went to the region of the dead and defeated Satan in his headquarters and set the captives free. Battles in the heavenlies are also within His area of operations. That was where the demonic prince who withstood Daniel’s prayer was resisted and the answer was released after 21 days (Dan 10:12-13 ). Every prince of Persia trying to block your blessing is paralysed now in Jesus’ Name. Every gate of hell militating against your success is roasted now in Jesus’ Name.

The Lord will grant you total victory over all enemy forces – seen and unseen this season. Only ensure you are not His enemy. Never take sides with God’s enemies else you will surely fail. It shall be well with you this season.

Pray for the success of all Holy Ghost services to be held in various countries throughout this year.

Breakthrough prayer points: My red sea must part

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea” (Exo 14:16)Read: Exodus 14:15-16
When the Israelites got to the shore of the Red Sea, they forgot they were being chased by the Egyptians. They declared a picnic. But as they were settling down to rest, they heard the sound of the enemies behind them and became afraid. They knew that the advancing army would either return them into slavery or kill them. In their panic, they converged on Moses in tears instead of crying to God. Moses went back to God on the matter and the Lord told him what to do and what the Israelites should do (Exodus 14:10-16). In verse 16, God told Moses, “But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it: and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea”.From the above passage you will discover that it was not really God who divided the Red Sea but Moses. God asked him to stretch his rod. He obeyed and God backed him up. As leaders, there are expectations from us. Until you divide the Red Sea before those you are leading, they may terminate their journey to the promised land at the sea bank.

The Red Sea could mean a common problem affecting everyone under a particular leader, congregation or family. In this regard, Red Sea can be doses of false doctrines taught in a particular church. Or it could be the refusal to teach those under you certain aspects of the Word of God. Any aspect of God’s Word you deny those you are leading could prevent them from entering the promised land (Matt 5:19). If you want your people to prosper, you must not only fast and pray but also provide solid teachings on giving, tithing, sowing and reaping, vows and hard work as conditions for material prosperity.breakthrough prayer points
