Commentary on Matthew 27: The reward of sin

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435 babalobi@yahoo.com

One of the main lessons of Matthew 27 is that the reward of sin is destruction.

  1. Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty shekels of silver but didn’t live to enjoy the thirty shekels.
  2. Judas returned the thirty shekels to the Chief priest when he saw that Jesus was crucified.
  3. When you commit a sin you will not have peace of mind.
  4. Judas betrayed Jesus by collecting thirty shekels of silver from the chief priest but the chief priest in turn betrayed him by refusing to collect back the money when Judas sought to return it.
  5. When you commit sin, your conspirators will eventually betray you. The money satan gives us for forsaking Christ really belongs to God. Judas did not cast the money to the chief priest but to the temple. All monies come from God.

Image result

  1. Any money you receive illegally is blood money. The chief priest refused to put the money into the treasury because it was blood money (Matthew 27 vs. 6) – The chief priests picked up the coins and said, “It is against the law to put this into the treasury, since it is blood money.”
  2. Ill-gotten wealth ends in destruction. Judas eventually hanged himself (Matthew 27 vs.5) – So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself.
  3. Judas like the other disciples should have ended up as an apostle, a saint, and the pillar of the church, but his destiny ended up on a tree because of the love of money. We now hear of Saint Peters Catholic Church, Saint James Anglican Church, Saint Mathews School, Saint Luke School..and several other monuments named after the disciples of Jesus. Have you ever heard of anything name after Saint Judas? Judas died a betrayer not a Saint, and his colorful destiny ended on a tree.

Commentary on Matthew 26: Love of money, root of all evil

Posted on Updated on

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435 babalobi@yahoo.com

Matthew 26 vs. 15 – and asked, “What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?” So they counted out for him thirty silver coins

 Image result

  1. Judas betrayed his master Jesus for thirty pieces of Silver.
  2. Judas covenanted with the enemies of Jesus because he was greedy for a monetary reward.
  3. Judas destroyed his destiny because of love for money.
  4. Several Christians are still falling to the error of Judas. They are asking the same question?
  • What will you give me, if I sleep with you?
  • What will you give me, if I give you that Job?
  • What will you give me, if I give you that contract?
  • What will you give me, if I help you to pass that examination?
  • What will you give me, if I approve your documents/papers?
  • What will you give me, if I give your child admission to college?
  • What will you give me, if I approve your promotion?
  • What will you give me, if I forge papers/documents for you?
  • What will you give me, if I enter into a contract marriage with you?
  • What will you give me, if I bear false witnesses/tell lies against your opponents?
  • What will you give, if I award underserved marks for you?
  • What will you give me if I will pray for you?
  • What will you give for bending rules to benefit you?

Bible parable: The unprofitable sevants

Posted on Updated on

Commentary on Matthew 25: Are you an unprofitable servant?

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435 babalobi@yahoo.com

  1. 1. Every Christian has a divine assignment to win souls (Matthew 25 vs. 14) – “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his property to them
  2. God has apportioned the soul winning according to everyones ability (Matthew 25 vs. 15) – To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

  1. The nature and responsibility of these evangelistic assignments vary in dimensions. Some the made Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Deacons, Teachers, and other he made Overseers (Matthew 25vs.15) – To one he gave five talents of money, to another two talents, and to another one talent, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

Image result

  1. God will one day ask every believer to account how he has used his ability to execute this evangelistic assignment (Matthew 25 vs. 19) – “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.
  2. Heavens will rejoice with soul sinners (Matthew 25 vs. 21) – “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

  1. Christians are expected to win more souls with their divine abilities (Matthew 25 vs. 20) – The man who had received the five talents brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five talents. See, I have gained five more.’
  2. Believers will be given positions of leadership and responsibility according to the number of souls they won on earth (Matthew 25 vs. 21) – “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
  3. Evangelists and soul winners shall experience and live in joy in heaven (Matthew 25 vs. 23) – “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
  4. Unprofitable servants, those that did not add value to the kingdom, those who wasted or buried their talents while on earth shall be rebuked by God and cast into hell (Matthew 25 vs. 30) – And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Phase 1- Beginning of sorrows   (Matthew 24 vs.5)For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

  1. There shall be deceivers (Matthew 24 vs. 4) – Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you
  2. Many shall proclaim themselves to be false ‘Jesus’ and false ‘messiahs’ and succeed in deceiving many. (Matthew 24 vs. 5) – For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
  3. There shall be civil wars and rumours of impending wars (Matthew 24 vs. 6) – You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
  4. Nation shall wage war against themselves and ethnic groups and kingdoms shall wage war against one another (Matthew 24 vs. 7) – Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
  5. There shall be drought, famines and recessions (Matthew 24 vs. 7) – Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.Image result
  6. There shall be outbreak of diseases, illnesses and sicknesses (Matthew 24 vs. 7) – Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

  5. There shall be upsurge of false prophets who will succeed in deceiving many (Matthew 24 vs. 11) – and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

  1. The world will be full of sin and wickedness. Sin shall become institutionalized, widely accepted as the normal and practiced (Matthew 24 vs. 12) – Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
  2. Men shall not love themselves (Matthew 24 vs. 12)Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
  3. The gospel shall be preached to all nations as a witness (Matthew 24 vs. 14) – And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
  4. The end shall come.

Phase III – Abomination of desolation (The great Tribulation)

  1. Christians shall flee to mountains, fields, and housetops to escape the great tribulation.
  2. There shall be great tribulation against Christians, never experienced (Matthew24 vs. 21) – For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now — and never to be equaled again.

  1. The days of tribulations shall be shortened to save the elect (Matthew 24 vs. 22) – If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
  2. False prophets, Christ shall appear doing great signs and wonders; and deceiving many (Matthew 24 vs. 23-24) – 23 at that time if anyone says to you, ‘look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect — if that were possible.

  1. People shall falsely announce the second coming of Jesus Christ and say He has arrived in a secret place (Matthew 24 vs. 24-25) – 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect — if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time.
  2. The sun shall be darkened (Matthew 24 vs. 29) – “Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

  3. The throne of Satan in the heaven shall be shaken and removed (Matthew 24 vs. 29) – “Immediately after the distress of those days “‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’

  1. A sign shall appear in heaven heralding Jesus Christ (Matthew 24 vs. 30) – “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

  1. All the people of the world shall weep for they know the end has come (Matthew 24 vs. 30) – “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.
  2. Jesus shall appear in the clouds with power and great glory (Matthew 24 vs. 30) – “At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.

  1. Angels shall appear with him (Matthew 24 vs. 31) – And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
  2. A trumpet shall be sounded (Matthew 24 vs. 31) – And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
  3. The elect from all the ends of the earth and heaven shall be gathered together.

Charateristics of modern day Pharisees and Sadducees

Posted on

Commentary on Matthew 23: Are you a Pharisee?

By Babatope Babalobi +2348035897435 babalobi@yahoo.com

Matt 23 vs. 2-32 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.

  1. The Pharisees didn’t obey the laws they give. They gave the laws and broke the laws; Jesus came to teach people not only to believe the law, but practice the law.

Matt 23 vs. 4 – They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

  1. Pharisees increased the burdens of the people. But Jesus came as a burden bearer and yoke breaker.

Matthew 23 vs. 5: “Everything they do is done for men to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long;

  1. Pharisees played to the gallery, sought self-glory and dressed flamboyantly to gain public attention. Jesus lived a life of piety, humility, and meekness while on earth.

Image result

Matthew 23 vs. 6: they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues;

  1. Pharisees were attention seekers and reserved grand and special seats for themselves; while Jesus lived a life of lowliness.

Matthew 23 vs. 7 – they love to be greeted in the marketplaces and to have men call them ‘Rabbi.’

  1. Pharisees liked to be publicly addressed with double barrel and high sounding titles, while Christ was meek while on earth.

Matthew 23 vs. 13 – “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!

  1. Pharisees were hypocrites; as they hindered the spread of the gospel why pretending to be children of God.

Matthew 23 vs.3 – So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach,

  1. Pharisees worshiped God with their lips, not their hearts, whereas Jesus taught that worshippers must worship God in the spirit and truth.

Matthew 23 vs.8 –  “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one Master and you are all brothers

  1. Pharisees liked to be introduced with flattering titles- great men of God, anointed men of God, God’s general, etc.. Whereas Jesus did not carry any title in front of his name.

Matthew 23 vs. 9And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.

  1. Pharisees encouraged people to look unto them rather than unto God, they took the glory that belonged to God by encouraging people to call and treat them as ‘father’. Whereas Jesus said there is only one father, which is God.

(Matthew 23 vs.14) – You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.

  1. Pharisees oppressed, exploited and robbed the very people, including widows they are supposed to help.

Mathew 23 vs 14:  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

  1. Pharisees are pretentious, as they sought to be honored by saying long prayers in the streets.

Matthew 23 vs.17 – You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes the gold sacred?

  1. Pharisees are foolish for they honoured the gold that decorated the temple, more than the temple; they honoured the cover of the bible more than the word written.

Matthew 23 vs.23 –  “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices — mint, dill and cummin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law — justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

  1. Pharisees were religious but not merciful. They faithfully paid tithes, but failed to practice the acts of faith, mercy, holiness, and righteousness. Jesus preached that we must not only pay tithes, but also practice the spirit of the law.

Matthew 23 vs.25 – “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

  1. Pharisees were full of iniquity and sin. They were physically beautiful but spiritually ugly.

Matthew 23 vs.10 – Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one Teacher, the Christ

  1. Pharisees made themselves lord and master over their congregation. Whereas Jesus preached that the leader should serve the followers.

Matthew 23 vs.1) – “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

  1. Pharisees were great evangelists, but they ended up converting people into hell rather than heaven.

Matthew 23 vs.25 – “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

  1. Pharisees were materialistic, greedy, and fattened themselves through spiritual exploitation and manipulation.

(Matthew 23 vs.33) – “You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell.

  1. Pharisees were cunny, deceitful, crafty, and dishonest. Jesus described them as vipers and serpents.

Matthew 23 vs.13-15 – 13 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. 15 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.

  1. Pharisees gathered members not souls. They gathered a crowd not a kingdom. They doubled the hurdles, sinner needed to overcome to enter heaven.

Prayer

I cast out the Pharisee spirit in me in Jesus name

Qualifications to enter heaven

Posted on Updated on

Romans 3 vs. 23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Revelation 21 vs. 27 – And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

  1. The Lord showed me vision of heaven few days ago.
  2. I saw people queuing at the gate of heaven desiring to enter heaven, and I also saw angelic gate keepers screening people into heaven.
  3. I noticed people on the queue were being asked just a simple question. I noticed people on the queue were being interrogated one by one. The answer to the question and response to the interrogation determines whether the person would be allowed to enter heaven or not.
  4. The simple question people were being asked is: Did you commit any sin on earth before you died that you did not confess or repent of? The issue the gatekeepers of heaven were interested in knowing is unconfessed sins the person committed while on earth.
  5. I was surprised people were not being asked how long they have been Christians, the denomination of church they attended, their role in the church, their race or parentage.
  6. The only question being asked by the gatekeepers is: What sins did you commit on earth that you did not confess before you died?
  7. I woke up and the Holy Spirit gave me a simple message that the qualification to heaven is not your denomination or church but righteousness and holiness. The only disqualification to heaven is unconfessed sin.

Prayers

  • I destroy the strongholds of sin in my life in Jesus name
  • Holy Spirit, separate me from sin in the Jesus name.
  • Holy spirit, prepare me for heaven in Jesus name

Sermon: Love of money root of all evils

Posted on

1 Timothy 6 vs 6-11

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

What lessons can we learn from this scriptures?

  1. Success is knowing Christ. A successful man is the one that lives in holiness and is contended with what he has. (vs 6)
  2. Life without Christ is vain. All the wealth, status, positions, and money you are struggling to acquire, you will leave all behind the day you die. (vs7)
  3. Human needs are few. Once you have food to eat, clothes to wear, and a house to stay you should be happy and contended. (vs8)
  4. Love of money leads to sin. The desire to become rich leads people into sin (vs9).
  5. Love of money is a trap. Many fall into it as they struggle to possess it (vs9)
  6. Fools love money, Wiseman love Jesus (vs9).
  7. The love for money ends in bitterness of the soul, body and spirit (vs9)
  8. The love for money leads to destruction. (vs9)
  9. The love of money is the spirit of anti-Christ (vs9).
  10. All evils are caused by the love of money (vs10).
  11. Greed for money causes Christians to backslide. (vs10).
  12. The love for money ends in sorrows.
  13. Flee from greed, flee from the love for money.
  14. Run after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness.

Bible sermon on:Signs of rapture and second coming of Jesus

Babatope Babalobi

Revelation 22 vs 12:  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work.

The Holy Spirit showed me a revelation this morning. I was in the company of some colleagues and we reached the bank of a river.

The water was very black, dirty, and a muddy; a few of us including me said we can’t swim in the river because its dirty.

To my surprise, before I know what was happening, some of my colleagues jumped into the dirty river without caring its dirtiness, and started swimming.

I watched in amazement.

download (1)

Suddenly I looked up and saw the clouds gathering and I ran away from the river side in order not to be beaten by rain.

It soon started to rain and I looked back at my colleagues who were swimming, and was afraid they will be drown.

I managed to escape to a building, and was ushered to a banquet Hall. And I woke up.

The interpretation the Holy Spirit gave me about the dream is this…. people swimming in dirty river… Are people willingly indulging in sin despite knowing its consequences against the prosperity of their soul, spirit, and body.

The banquet hall I saw is the marriage supper of the lamb. (He brought me to the banqueting hall and his banner over me was love – Song of Solomon 2 vs 4)

download

I pray that we shall all hate and overcome sin, and be ushered into the marriage supper of the lamb at the last day, in Jesus name.

Is there a heaven and a hell?

And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire- Revelation 20 vs 15book of life bible

  1. There is an admission list for new intakes into any educational institution. You name has to be on the Admissions list, before you can pay the school fees and attend lectures. I still vividly recollect the joy of my son when he found his name on the admission list for a Nigerian university. At that point he knew his dream of becoming a university undergraduate has come to pass.
  2. There is a list of visa applicants maintained by every embassy. A couple of months ago, when I visited the British embassy to process a visa, I was ushered in to the embassy, because my name was on the list of visa applicants for the day.
  3. If you wish to visit top public officers like the President of a nation, you need to book an appointment and ensure your name is on the list of visitors. In Nigeria, there are seven gates that leads to ‘Aso Rock’ official residence of the President in Abuja. The security aides at the main gate and several other stops leading to the President’s office keep a list. If your name is not on the list, you will be denied entrance. The last time I visited ‘Aso Rock’ the first and only question I was asked at the gate was ‘Is your name on the list’
  4. During the convocation ceremony of any University, the most sought document is the Graduand’s book containing names of all new graduates. If name of your love one is not listed, then you know he has not yet graduated.
  5. The Bible talks about a list of heaven. If men on earth can keep lists, heaven should be more organised. The questions the Holy Spirit has for you today is ‘Is your name on the list of heaven?’ ‘Is your name written in the book of life?’
  6. Hell is not an option to spend eternity. Decide today that you must make the list of Heaven. It takes a sacrifice to shun the pleasures of sin and live in holiness. Repent and be born again now, so that your name can be on the list.

Prayers:

  1. I cancel my name from the register of hell by the blood of Jesus
  2. Jesus of Nazareth, write my name in the book of life.
  3. I shall make heaven in Jesus name

Essence of Christianity: What does it mean to follow Jesus?

Posted on

soul winning evangelism

Mark 1 vs 17: “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

  1. The essence of Christianity is to primarily do the work of the Evangelist, every other thing becomes secondary.
  2. If you make yourself a follower of Christ, you should therefore be willing to trained by the Holy Spirit to bring others into following Christ.
  3. Following Jesus, without fishing for men is not an option, an act of disobedience, and may infact be a sin.
  4. Decide today not only to follow Jesus, but also to fish for men and women

I receive the grace to fish for the kingdom in Jesus name

Sermon: Return to God in repentance

Posted on

Mathew 26 vs 56: Then all the disciples left him….

Just as in the days of old, many believers have abandoned the gospel for the world.

1. Christians have left the Bible for Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram and other social media.

2. Christians have stopped fellowship with God in prayers, they are not fellowshipping with Television and Movies.

3. Christians especially our children have left the Bible and embraced the mobile phone with all its distractions.

4.  Christians have left the altar of prayer for the altar of gisting and gossips.

5. We have left the word of God  for the word of men, as we no longer abide by the scriptures.

6. The church has left soul winning for members winning.

7. The Church has left God worship for Pastor worship

8.  The Church has left preaching about holiness and salvation, to preaching about how members can turn to millionaires and billionaires overnight.

9. The Church has left demonstrating God’s love to building business empires.

10. The Church has left the word for the money.

The spirit of God is calling for repentance.  Pray that the Holy Spirit draws you to Him again.

  1. What does it profit a man, to have mansions in Dubai, Caribbean Islands, Cape town, New York, London etc and end up not having a mansion in heaven, but in hell?
  2. What does it profit a man to be most powerful man like the President of the United States living in a white house, but end up living in burning furnace for eternity.
  3. What does it profit a man to spend his years in illicit sexual pleasures with a harem of women, and lose the everlasting pleasure of paradise?
  4. What does it profit the famed King Solomom to have have a thousand wives and concubines, and miss the marriage supper of the lamb?mark 8 vs 36
  5. What does it profit a man to be the richest man in his village, country, continent, or in the world, and not have riches in heaven?
  6. What does it profit a man to be an Emeritus Professor and a Nobel Prize winner, and yet end up in hell like other people the Bible describes a fools?
  7. What does it profit a man to be celebrated as the most prized footballer in the world, and end up being tossed up and down like a ball in hell?
  8. What does it profit a man to be celebrated as the King or Queen of Pop or Reggae, to be described as an International superstar, winning several Oscars and Hollywood awards, but miss the prize of spending eternity with God in heaven.
  9. What does it profit a man to travel the whole world on tourism, and end up travelling to hell at death?
  10. What does it profit a man to live and die in sin and unbelief,  not guaranteeing a place for himself in eternity with Jesus!
  11. Repent now and be saved

Making heaven: How to go to heaven

Posted on Updated on

It is war to get to Heaven. If you patronize your flesh regularly, you will terminate your heavenly race on earth

Memorise: “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Tim 2:4)

Read: Jude 5-7

One person whose heavenly race was terminated as a result of worldly weights was Lot’s wife. She was one person who obtained mercy from God but still missed it. Lot’s uncle – Abraham interceded for them. God sent angels to the town they resided, and ensured that they passed by the front of Lot’s house.God arranged everything for Lot to see and recognize the divine visitors. In spite of these efforts, they were dragging their feet and so the angels grabbed them by the hand and forced them out. The angels thought at least they had saved four souls. But then Mrs. Lot remembered her gold, diamond and trinkets in Sodom which she could not take with her. Her attachment to them was so strong. Their control over her was so overbearing.making heaven

How could she ever part with such precious treasures? Heaven was pulling her on one hand but the pull of worldly things was stronger. The stronger pull must prevail. Eventually, worldly weights got a better part of her. She took one last look and was lost forever!

“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Tim 2:4). It is war to get to Heaven. If you patronize your flesh regularly, you will terminate your heavenly race on earth. Lot’s wife looked back. That was not her first time.

She did it several times before and she got away with it. She thought doing it one more time was harmless. Little did she know there was a looking back that could totally damn the looker forever. Have you been compromising with sinful colleagues in the office or at school? Have you been lying and getting away with your lies? Have you been fornicating and have never been caught? Have you become so bold and comfortable stealing church money because you have never been caught?

Beware! Your last time is coming and you cannot escape it except you totally repent and turn a new leaf. Lot’s wife looked back and she lost both ways – she did not receive her treasures in Sodom and she did not escape God’s judgement. In the end, the compromisers become double losers. Are worldly pleasures pulling you so strongly to hell? Ask God for grace to break away.

While some faithfully serve God and become double winners, others play smart with God and lose on earth and in Heaven. Your actions today will determine your placement.

Heaven is real: Is your name in the book of life?

Posted on Updated on

Sub title: Is your name on the list?

Babatope Babalobi

Revelation 20 vs. 15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Listen to the audio sermon here:  Book of Life: Is your name on the list of names?

Several years ago I went to see a friend in the office of the President of Nigeria, a place known as Aso Rock in Abuja Nigeria akin to the White house in Washington DC.

I arrived the heavily fortified gate, and I told the security men that I wanted to see a friend in the President’s office. Those security men did not ask of my position or where I was coming from or the purpose of my visit to the President’s office? The security men simply asked me: Ís your name on the list? By this they mean the list of visitors to the President’s office for the day.

I said ‘yes’ with confidence’, knowing fully my visit was on an appointment. In reaction to my response, the security men brought out document that contained the list of approved visitors to the President’s office for that fateful day. They looked through the list and on finding my name, the gate was opened and I was allowed inside. It was clear to me from this experience that no matter how powerful or wealthy you are, if your name is not on that list at the gate of the President’s office, you will not be allowed in. I guess this is the same practice in offices of other Presidents of the world.

2. I had another experience in the year 2006 when I visited the United States embassy in Lagos for a visa interview. When I got to the gate on the appointment date, the simple question the security officer asked me is that ‘Is your name on the list’? He was referring to the list of those earlier given appointment for visa interview for that day? I said ‘yes”. They searched, found my name and I was allowed to enter the embassy.

3. Last month when I went to University of Lagos to pay for a convocation gown so that I could participate in the graduation ceremony for the new higher degree graduates, I had the third similar experience. As I indicated my desire to pay the prescribed fee, the officer in charge asked me: Ís your name on the list’? I said Yes’ my name is on the list of new graduates. He confirmed this and accepted the fee for the convocation gown.

4. From these three experiences, it occurs to me that if the people of this world could keep a list and follow it strictly, and then there must also be a list in heaven. If there is a list to enter important places on earth, then there must also be a list to enter heaven. Just as there is a list to important places on earth, there is also a list to heaven. Just as s security men are guiding the gate of important places on earth, there are also angels guiding the gate of heaven.

The only difference in the list of earth and list of heaven is that whereas the worst that can occur if your name is not found in the list of earth is that you will be denied entrance, the situation is different in heaven. Anyone no matter low or mighty, whose name is not found in the list of heaven, will not simply be denied entrance, but be thrown intothe lake of fire.

Revelation 20 vs. 15 – And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I pray that your name shall be written in the register of heaven and you will not end in the lake of fire in Jesus mighty name.

As I round up this message, the simple question I have for you is that is your name on the list?

Check the works of your hands, check your mind, and examine your life style.

Are you a liar, cheat, idolator, fornicator, adulterer, sexual prevent, wicked, or backslider? Are you truly a born again Christian? If rapture occurs now are you very sure, you will make heaven? If you die now, are you sure, you name will be found in the book of life, when you get to the gate of heaven? Is your name on the list? If No, repent now and be saved in Jesus name.

Is the name of your father or mother on the list? Is the name of your children, relations and friends on the list? Do you need to intercede for them to repent from sin?

Does hell exist: Is heaven real?

Prepare to meet your God!

The Kingdoms of Heaven & Hell,

and the Return of CHRIST

by Angelica Zambrano

For a period of 23 hours, a young Ecuadorian girl named Angelica was shown the Kingdoms of Heaven and Hell, and the Return of Christ.  She witnessed Jesus weeping as He overlooked multitudes of souls lost forever, a world that has rejected Him, a Church that is mostly unprepared for Him, a people that have stopped witnessing to the lost, and an entertainment industry that even lures children to satan. She witnessed many of our esteemed cultural icons suffering in the Pit; singers, entertainers, and even a pope.  Angelica was also shown how the Kingdom of Heaven is all wonderfully prepared and ready, an unimaginable glorious place, where no evil exists. Though Jesus is ONLY coming back for a Holy People, and many of God’s children will NOT be ready on that day, and will be left behind in a world that will fall apart.     www.DivineRevelations.info/23

(From video Interview, originally in Spanish, Minimally Abridged, Location: El Empalme, Ecuador.)

 Maxima (the Mother):

My name is Maxima Zambrano Mora and we attend the “Casa de Oracion” Church in El Empalme.  We were fasting for 15 days, and crying out to God.  My daughter Angelica also joined us.  During those fifteen days of fasting, I was able to see beyond the natural, which I’ve never done before.  We were praying and fasting at the retreat, and even continued praying and crying out at home, waiting for God to speak to us.

The Lord gave us much encouragement.  Because of our trials, we were often ready to give up, but the Lord was there to help us.  He gave us Jeremiah 33:3Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not.” My daughter had been emphatically requesting that from Lord, though I didn’t know it at the time.

Angelica (The daughter):

My name is Angelica Elizabeth Zambrano Mora.  I am 18, and study at the “Colegio José María Velazco Ibarra”, here at El Cantón, El Empalme, Ecuador.  I first accepted Christ when I was 12, but I told myself, “None of my friends were evangelicals and I felt strange amongst them“, so I walked away from God, and lived a bad, terrible life.  But God pulled me out of there.  On, my 15th Birthday, I was reconciled to the Lord, but I was still double-minded.  The Bible says (James 1:8), “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways” and I was one of those persons.  My dad would say, “You don’t have to be like that, it looks awful, it’s wrong,” but I would reply, “This is the way I am, and how I want to be, nobody has to tell me how I should be, nor what I should do, nor how I should dress, or behave.” He would respond, “God is going to deal with you.  He is going to change you.Read the rest of this entry »

POPULARITY, WEALTH AND POWER

Memorise: “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” ( Matthew 6:33 )

Read: 1 Kings 17:1-3

Pastor E.Adeboye

The only introduction we are given of Elijah, is contained in verse one of our reading. He came from a humble home and his parents were so insignificant in Gilead that God did not even bother to mention their names. Other major Prophets such as Isaiah, the son of Amos, Jeremiah the son of Libnah and Ezekiel the son of Buzi, were introduced by their father’s names.

This only reveals one of the working of the Holy Spirit- to make the unknown to be known. Are you considered insignificant in your village, office or where you are? The Lord knows you. By the time He is through with you, you will become very popular.

“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” ( Matthew 6:33 ).

What the world has failed to realize is that the fame, popularity, power, prestige and wealth they have been fighting and killing one another for, which have also hindered many of them from following Jesus Christ, are adequately provided for in the Gospel.

You would be amazed to know the covenants many people make with Satan just to have a few years of power, riches and fame! Equally surprising are the terrible consequences they are prepared to undergo for a moment’s pleasure.

Ironically, those in the Gospel of Jesus have these blessings in full doses with peace. They reign as kings here over physical, material and spiritual situations. They just serve God and the Lord rewards them faithfully.

Beyond this, they will co-reign with Jesus Christ over the earth for 1000 years as spiritual and political leaders under the best theocratic government ever known in the history of this world.

By then most of the known world leaders would have gone into oblivion. Thereafter, they will reign for the rest of eternity with Jesus in a reign that never ends, when death has no more place in God’s plan. Then, many of us who are unknown today, will be the most popular for all eternity, the time that matters most.

I would rather stick with my Jesus till the end and partake of this blessedness than go after the limited pleasures the present world system can offer. What about you?

Seeking Jesus Christ is the easiest way to have popularity, wealth and power. If you seek each of these, you will not only lose Jesus, but follow the difficult way

WHOLE FAMILY SALVATION

Memorise: “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” ( Acts 16:31 )

Read: Acts 16:27-32

Pastor E. Adeboye

God’s plan to salvation covers the entire family. If you are saved but members of your family are not, don’t celebrate yet. You must be ready to pay whatever price to save every member of your family. In 1 Samuel 25:20-31 , David was angry that his security services for Nabal’s men were not appreciated.

To worsen the situation, his men were humiliated. So he rose with them to take revenge on Nabal and his household. But Abigail, the wise wife of Nabal took quick steps to prevent harm to her family.

When they met on the way she came down from her horse, knelt down and fell flat at David’s feet. Thereafter, she spoke very soothing words to soften his heart before offering her gift. Abigail could go any length to save her family from physical death!

Revelation 20:12-15 tells us there is a death worse than physical death. It is the second death.

This is eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. Everyone whose names are not written in the most important register of the universe – The Book of Life, will be hurled into this fire immediately after judgement.

Any member of your family whose name has not been registered in that book is already heading for this eternal lake. When the jailer saw the earthquake in the prison, he immediately surrendered to Christ. Yet, he took every member of his family along.

Some Christians give up on family members easily. After spending a few thousands, they say they cannot continue to waste their time, effort and resources on family members who are not ready to receive Jesus Christ. No sacrifice is too much for the salvation of your family!

Noah spent 120 years to build an ark that would save himself, his family and some animals ( Gen 7:17 ). According to Genesis 18:23-32 , Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah just because he wanted his nephew Lot and his family saved.

On receiving the news of an impending destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot immediately ran to his in-laws to possibly save them. How many of your family members are saved?

Take a family audit of those who are saved and those who are not. Organize a team of the saved; plan, pray, fast, put resources together and launch out to the rescue of unsaved members. You must not be guilty of their blood. You have no excuse if any member of your family ends up in hell. Take a step today!

Personally lead family members to Christ. Use every resource at your disposal

LEFT BEHIND?

Memorise: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come ” (Matt 24:42)

Read: Matthew 24:36-42

The ten virgins heard a cry announcing the arrival of their long-awaited bridegroom and they woke up (Matthew 25:6-7). But the question is, Were they happy to hear the announcement of the bridegroom? The virgins were probably afraid and jittery because they were caught napping.

Anyone who looks forward to the day of rapture with tremendous happiness may not be well informed. When the virgins heard the cry, they knew that the moment of truth had come at last! The day of reckoning had come! It is on that day the world will know those who are serving God and those who are not. Any pastor or Christian can pretend to serve God until that day, but not beyond it.

Are you playing church? Are you pretending to serve God while in secret you serve something else? Are you publicly preaching the undiluted Word of God but secretly living in fornication, lies, and unforgiveness?

On that day, your secret will be exposed to the whole world. After the saints have been raptured, the hypocrites that are left will suffer greatly. Even before the suffering of the Great Tribulation, which will be general, believers who are left behind will suffer shame and disgrace they never imagined.

Everyone who knows you as a Christian or man of God will come looking for you. When they see you, they will say, ‘So upon all the preaching, you did not go with your colleagues? So you were faking your faith in Christ all along? But you must be a big fool, you know. How could you refuse joining us to take bribes, womanize, booze, embezzle government funds, marry as many wives as possible, etc. only to end up being left behind with chronic sinners like us? In any case, what did you do to your Jesus that made Him leave you behind?’

As a minister or pastor, how can you stand to talk to members of your congregation who were also left behind? They will blame you for their inability to make the rapture. They will say it was because you were living in secret sin that they, too, fell into sin.

By the time the wrath of God will be poured on the inhabitants of the earth, the Antichrist will stir up people to look for those who call themselves Christians and ask them to be killed because their Jesus is raining judgement from Heaven. Christians left behind will then be used to settle scores! You can prevent this by ensuring that you make the rapture.

What vices capable of hindering you from making the rapture persist in your life? Repent and deal with them before it is too late

WHEN A LOSS IS PREFERABLE

Memorise: “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city” (Hebrews 11:16)

Read: Matthew 5:29-30

Are you married to Jesus? Keep that relationship intact. I thank God for doctors. Before I was born again, I would have been a dead man if not for them. However, since I got married to Jesus, they have not seen me in their hospitals. And they never will. The reason is that you cannot be the wife of the Greatest Physician and lack medical care.

The best possible treatment on earth and in Heaven will be at your beck and call. When you are married to the right man, all your burdens, assets and liabilities will become His. That is why Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. Being married to Him, makes you His responsibility.

The enjoyment and glory awaiting all who will finally make it to Heaven is so great that the average human heart finds it difficult to comprehend. In Matthew 5:29-30, Jesus gives us an idea. He said if your right hand will hinder you from entering Heaven, cut it off. As a new born babe in Christ, something I kept asking the Lord was: If you really love me, why would you ask me to cut off my right hand? In answer, the Lord showed me a vision. I saw a multitude of Christians joyfully singing and strolling towards Heaven. All of a sudden, I saw a man coming from the rear. He was in a mad rush and pushed just anyone who will hinder him. In my mind, I was wondering if the man was a Christian when Matthew 11:12 was impressed on my heart.

While meditating on this verse, I saw why the man was running unlike those who were strolling. The gates of Heaven- one huge sliding door- was closing. He rushed further and by the time he got there, the gap left could only take him entering sideways. As he entered, the gate finally shut and his right hand was still outside.

Then, the angel inside told him, “Sir, it has been decided that nothing more can come in, but something can still go out. To enable me shut this gate properly, sir, you will either have to go out or we would have to cut off your right hand”. If you were the man, which would you choose?

To lose a hand and remain in Heaven or to be whole but outside Heaven? Not all born again Christians will make it to Heaven. If you must enter Heaven, you need to run in your commitment, obedience and in your present level of walking with God. Take a look at your life. What are those things that will hinder you from entering? Cut them off today! No matter how close or valuable: cut them off now. Such a loss is in your best interest.

List every attachment that could hinder your entry into Heaven. Ask God to trim them off

HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Memorise: “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1Thess 4:17)

Read: 1 Thess 4:15-18

Many Christians think that when they get to Heaven, their spouses and children will become strangers to them. And that all family relationships would come to an end after death. Nothing can be further from the truth! In John 14:1-4, Jesus promised to return for us to be with Him forever. Eternity is not a mirage but a reality.

Every human being has an eternal soul that can never die. Every human being will partake of eternity. Eternity can be linked to a period when times and seasons, days and nights cease to measure the length of life. It can also be compared with one million times one million years in a million places. The final answer becomes the first year of eternity! To sinners, eternity could be one long and unending night of sorrow, while to genuinely born again Christians, it is one long and unending glorious day!

When believers get to Heaven, they will fall into different classes: The first class comprises those whose family members are complete at the time of the roll call. The father will be there. The mother will be there. The children will be there. Such a family having satisfied God’s desire for whole family salvation will qualify for first prize. Another class comprises a family where either the father or mother is missing. A third class comprises a family with one or more of the children missing. There will be some families that have 50% of the members missing. Some others may just have only one person in Heaven from the family. There will be several whole families totally absent from Heaven!

You will be eternally reunited with those members of your family who make it to Heaven. You will live, play, eat, worship, reign, go to picnics together for the rest of eternity. Any family member that misses Heaven will be an eternal loss to you. Many Christians think when we get to Heaven, family members will be totally separated. No. The family you started on earth in imperfection, will continue in a perfect and far glorious union there. I have resolved my family must be complete in Heaven. What about you? Yes, we can truly live happily ever after!

While some believers will have all members of their family reuniting with them in Heaven, others will have none. What have you done to reach out to the unsaved members of your family?

I am going … to prepare a place for you John 14:2NIV

All that stuff you see in the  movies, like fog banks and disembodied spirits floating around in some nether world to the eerier sounds of Celtic music; forget it! Heaven will be:

1).           A home built just for you. Are you worried about where you go when you die or where your loved ones have gone? Don’t be Jesus said; do not let your heart be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my father’s house are many rooms: if it were not so, i would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if go and prepare a place for you, i will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where i am’ (John14:1-3NIV)

2)            A city you’ll love! 1John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem (Revelation21:2). It’s an exact square of 1,400 miles. It would stretch from London to Leningrad and from Glasgow to Gibraltar. It’s 40times the size of England, 10 times the size of France, and large than India. And that just the ground floor; it’s as tall as it wide. 600,000 storeys, more than enough space for billions of people to come and go. And come and go they will. The gates never close why shut them? The enemies of God will be banished, leaving only a perfect place of perfected people.

3).           With Christ, the one you love most! Paul, who had the privilege of visiting heaven, wrote, i desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far (Philippians 1:23NIV) so don’t get too comfortable here on earth.

Prayer point

1.       Grant me and my family  the grace to make heaven
