Luke 4

⁵ And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶ And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

⁷ If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

⁸ And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

1. Jesus was tempted by the devil. He was tempted with power, status, wealth, status, and fame; all of which the devil promised to give him if only Jesus could worship Satan.
2. Of course, Jesus rebuked the devil; because worshiping Devil is idolatrous a grievous sin before God
3. Jesus also rebuked the devil because he was lying. The earth is the Lords and its fulness thereof therefore the wealth and riches the devil is claiming as his own really belonged to God.
4. Just as Jesus faced temptations in the wilderness almost everyone is facing temptations daily in the wilderness of life .
5. The temptation of Jesus in the wilderness is symbolic of the temptation every man or woman, every christian and non christian will face daily in life. Every day, the devil will come around to tempt you, and you need to continuously overcome in the manner of Jesus
6. It is possible that you are facing a financial temptation today. You are under pressure to give a bribe to win a contract or you are about to receive a bribe to offer a service, you are planning to forge a document, receipt, or invoice; a colleague has advised you to help yourself with the company’s funds to make ends meet; you are about to make a false claim or earn illegitimate money you didn’t not earn; you are thinking of awarding an inflated contract for a bribe; you are about to twist your tongue for an illegitimate income, you are about to falsify records ; or you are about to use gain an advantage through monetarily inducement.
7. No matter the nature of financial temptation you are facing today, you need to remain righteous and tell the devil to back off and back out in Jesus name
8. Perhaps there is someone facing spiritual temptation today. You are about to make an evil consultation. Someone has advised you to mix Christianity with traditional religion saying it does not matter. Someone wants to introduce you to an evil priest, a false problem, an enchanter, or a sorcerer. You are being urged to use a spiritual material- an incense, a charm, a candle, or an amulet so that your business will flourish or you win that contracts.  You have been invited for a special prayers at the river. No matter the nature of spiritual temptation you are facing, right now you need to tell the devil to back off and back out. The solution in your spiritual challenges lies in the word of God
9. There is someone facing sexual temptations. A teacher is pressuring you to offer sex for marks; a supervisor is urging you to offer sex for money or promotion; the spirit of lusts have overwhelmed you and you are about committing with that neighbour, that church member, that colleague, or that friend. Your friends or neighbour’s wife is enticing you to bed like Potiphar’s wife. You are finding it difficult to take your eyes off pornography, and you are  about to knock yourself in the room and masturbate again. You are single, a window, or widower, and you are finding it difficult to control your urges. No matter the nature of your sexual temptations, you need to tell the devil to back off and back out in Jesus name
10. Jesus overcame temptations, you will over every temptations in His name
