What Is Discipline?

1. Discipline is following the rules
2. Discipline is obeying human laws and divine commandment
3. Discipline is strictness
4. Discipline is forsaking pleasure to achieve a goal
5. Discipline is living a regimented life
6. Discipline is focusing on your goal
7. The Opposite of Discipline Is Indiscipline
8. Discipline involves initial sacrifice and brings reward later
9. Indiscipline brings “initial benefits” but ends with punishment, penalties.
10. Discipline is initially bitter but finally sweet while discipline is initially sweet, but finally bitter

Discipline and Indiscipline In The Bible

1. God Himself is the author and master of discipline; He created the world and dedicated the seventh day for rest
2. God created order among human beings and animals
3. In Genesis 1 verse 28, He gave men power, dominion, and authority over all creatures, even in marriage Genesis 2 verse 28 he made man the head, and woman the helper
4. Noah was disciplined, he obeyed God’s commandment to the letter, he brought all kinds of creatures to the ark, male and female, by so doing he saved his family and all creatures from destruction.
5. Joseph was disciplined, he knew his boss’s wife was not to be touched despite all temptations and potential rewards
6. Joseph- the husband of Mary was discipline, the Bible says Mary was betrothed to him, but he did not come together with her. Compared to nowadays when people engaged in immorality before marriage
7. Jesus was a disciplinarian, for instance, He chased out traders from the temple.

Indiscipline People In The Bible

1. Esau was indiscipline; he sold his birthright for pottage, he could not control his hunger
2. Jonah was indiscipline, he disobeyed God. Rather than going on evangelism, he went on tourism
3. Judas was indiscipline, he betrayed Jesus for 30 shekels of silver
4. Moses was indiscipline, he didn’t follow Gods word strictly, thereby missing the promise land
5. Samson was indiscipline, he followed strange women and was destroyed in the hands of his enemies
6. Solomon was indiscipline, he could not control his lusts for women, he married thousands of strange woman
7. Ananias and Sapphire were indiscipline, they were sleeping with women who came to worship at the temple

Types of Indiscipline

1. Academic indiscipline: Un seriousness, cheating in exams, gossiping instead of facing your studies. The result of academic indiscipline is failure.
2. Professional indiscipline: Coming late to work, indolence, laziness, untidiness, sloppiness, unpunctuality, discharging assignment with no sense of perfection, insubordination, and absence from duty without approvals are all cases of indiscipline at work that leads to stagnancy, job loss, and lack of promotion.
3. Sexual indiscipline: Premarital and extra marital sex, illicit sex, and uncontrollable lusts are symptoms of academic discipline.
4. Spiritual indiscipline: Spiritual adultery, consultations with idols, witchcraft consultations, inability to follow a bible study, prayerlessness, and church prostitution are all forms of spiritual indiscipline.
5. Carnal indiscipline: Unproductive time wasting on social media, long hours on television and movies, drunkenness, gluttony, and appetite for worldliness are all symptoms of carnal indiscplines
