Why does God allow evil things to happen and evil people to prosper?

Posted on

God

Is there really a God? Is God a fact or fiction? If God exists why is my life in such a mess? Why is so much suffering in the world? Why has is so much evils and wickedness in the world if there is a God? These are common questions in the mind of several people

Genesis 1 vs. 31 – Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

  1. The word of God makes us to realise that all things God created are good
  2. God does not create evil unless as a tool of punishing anyone that challenges His powers and disobeys His laws.
  3. If there are no punishment for disobeying God, if there are no evils as rewards of sin, I guess very few people will obey the commandments of God.
  4. The words of God is that no evil shall befall you (Psalm 91) if you serve and obey the Lord.
  5. God allows evils to happen to anyone that willingly disobeys hid laws.
  6. If you see any evil around you or experience any evil, know surely that this is from the devil not God
  7. You need to stand against any evil, reject it, cancel it and pray against it
  8. Don’t allow yourself to be cheated by the devil who sponsors and spreads evils
  9. If you are a child of God, you have been empowered to overcome evils (1 John 5 vs 4) For anyone born of God overcomes the world
  10. I rebuke and speak against every evil works against your life in Jesus name
  11. Let goodness and mercy pursue you daily in Jesus name.

Easter messages: lessons from the character of Judas Iscariots

betrayal of Jesus Judas iscariot

What lessons can we learn from the betrayal of Jesus by one of his disciples- Judas Iscariot? What does the story of Judas Iscariot tell us?

Read Mathew 26.

By Babatope Babalobi babalobi@yahoo.com +2348035897435

  1. Judas was privileged to be one of the twelve disciples that followed Jesus Christ around. He listened to his teaching and preaching’s, yet he was not converted. He betrayed Jesus without cause. The lesson here is that you can never satisfy the world. You can never satisfy your followers, no matter how good you are, there are some people that will hate you without reason.
  2. The love of money, greed, and covetousness remains the root of all evils. Judas received 30 shekels as a reward of his betrayal. If Judas was not promised a monetary reward, if was unlikely he would have agreed to betray Jesus. Be careful how you make money. Run from every filthy lucre.
  3. Another lesson is that you should expect to have a Judas around you. There is popular saying that there is a Judas among every 12 of your disciples or assistants. Watch out for the Judas in your midst and beware of Judases.
  4. Another lesson from the story of Judas is that your enemy is within your household. Your greatest enemies are within your household, within your offices, businesses, and ministries. Jesus was not betrayed by an outsider, but by one of his personal assistants.
  5. Another lesson is that if you are in the spirit and walking with God, He will always reveal the future to you, He will reveal the plans of your enemies, and the conspiracies against you. Jesus perfectly knew Judas was planning and going to betray him, because this has been revealed to him by the spirit. However, he could not resist it because he had to fulfil his destiny.
  6. Another lessons, is that the kiss of the enemy is poison. Judas kissed Jesus to identify him to the accusers/enemies. When you enemies kiss you, know surely he has poisoned you. Therefore it is better to avoid the kiss of the enemy. Don’t negotiate or become friendly with the enemy in order to avoid an evil kiss.
  7. Another lesson is that you should not be bitter or vengeful against your perceived enemies. Jesus still called Judas my friend, and embraced him, when he came with a band of people with swords. Vengeance belongs to God and leave the battles to God.
  8. The last lesson and the most important lesson is that the wages of sin is death. Judas returned back to the elders, the blood money he took to betray Jesus; and he hanged himself. Evil breeds sorrow and grief, and Judas did not leave to fulfil his destiny
  9. Another lesson is that those planning evil with you will not stand with you when the evil backfires. The elders and fellow conspirators that planned evils with Judas and bribed him with 30 shekels refused to take the money back after he became remorseful. They described the 30 shekels that Judas as blood money and refused to return it into the treasury.
  10. The final lesson is that Judas missed a glorious destiny that awaited him because the lure of money, he missed and sold his glory for 30 shekels of silver. All the other eleven disciples later on went to fulfil destiny and became saints. If Judas had not betrayed Judas, perhaps we could have a church named ‘Saint Judas Church’, later on such as we have churches named after Saint Paul, Saint John, and the others.

Are you going through some afflictions or challenges and need Gods help to address the situation? You can a person receive Gods help when in need?gods help

1. There are two principles of using Gods power to overcome challenges of life.

2. God himself applied the principles to overcome contrary situations.

3. In the beginning the earth was formless, void and darkness pervaded over the surface. Is your life or does your future also appear empty, formless, and bleak?

4. God brought the formless earth into shape through two principles..He caused His spirit to move over the earth; and Second, he spoke His words to the void earth.

5. You could also pray down the spirit of God into your situations today, and speak the word of God to your challenges; as you do so, every darkness in your life shall give away to light in Jesus name.

6. I pray that the God that recreate the earth shall recreate any part of your body, marriage, family, business, or career that needs to recreated in Jesus name.

7. I challenge the powers sponsoring darkness into your life, sponsoring failures into your life, tampering with your original destiny, and I decree destruction unto them in Jesus name.

8. Let every darkness, every failures, every disappointment, in your life fade away; and let the light of God shine into your life, business, ministry, body, and family in Jesus name.

Why should we fear God?

Posted on

Several scriptures in the Bible extol Christians to fear God not the gods. Why should we fear God? How should we fear God? And why does Christians need to fear a loving God?

Fearing God; what does it entail? Simply it means obedience to God’s statutes, Laws and commandments.

Eccl 12:13-14: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is man’s all. For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

Just like a father is pleased with a child that obeys and follows his instructions, Jehovah loves His sons who are willing to do His will and bidding.

The Bible says in Isaiah 1 vs. 19: If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land” (NIV). Just like the way a football team Coach scolds his players for not playing to instructions during a lost game, God punishes those that flouts and ignores His instructions.

Isaiah 1vs. 20 (NIV) – ‘but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it”         fear of God

It is recorded in Dake’s Bible that King Saul made 21 unsuccessful attempts to assassinate David. Yet, when David had the opportunity of killing Saul his archenemy, he restrained himself out of the fear of God. Compare David’s attitude to that of a former Military ruler in Nigeria in the 80’s, who ordered the execution of his close friend for allegedly plotting a military coup. If the Military ruler had the heart of David, maybe the alleged coup plotter, a literary genius would not have been wasted.

What are the benefits of fearing God?

First, a God fearing person will be able to lead a righteous life free from sin. Second, the person will gain knowledge; possess divine wisdom, and good understanding, to cope with the crises of life.

“The fear of LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”    -Proverbs 1 vs. 7   ¨

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of the wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.      Psalm111 vs. 10

Third, the person will possess the spirit of God helping him/her in all things. “The spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of the knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. His delight is in the fear of the LORD, And He shall not judge by the sight of his eyes, Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;”      -Isaiah11 vs. 2-3 ¨

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one another” –John13 vs. 35

There are very few people recorded as having Walked with God in the Bible.  How do we walk with God, and how did Enoch walked with God?

  • Genesis 5 vs. 22 – And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughterswalk with God
  • Genesis 6 vs.9 – These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.
  • Enoch and Noah have one of the most beautiful testimonies written about any individual in the Bible. The Bible testifies that Enoch and Noah walked with God. This occurred during a generation when the common trend was to walk with gods and idols. Enoch and Noah choosed to be different. He ignored protestations and mockery of his people by choosing to walk with God.
  • Can a similar testimony being given about you? If the story of your life is written now, who would they say you have been walking with? When the story of your life completes at death, would the people of the world say you walked with God and God alone throughout your life time?
  • Most times, we are influenced by the character of people we are walking with? What determines whether you are walking with God or Satan is the character of your friends and associates?
  • Show me your friends? Are your friends Smokers, drunkards, fornicators, adulterers, and unbelievers? Then you are not walking with God
  • Do you prefer to hang out in worldly parties, ungodly festivities, night clubs, brothels, and beer parlours instead of the house of God? Then you are not walking with God.
  • Do you prefer watching action movies, evil shows, sports channels, and reading romantic books rather than being in the presence of God? Then you are not walking with God
  • Do you desire to walk with God like Enoch? Then read your Bible daily. Do you desire to be the Noah of this generation? Then flee from sin. Do you want to become another Enoch, the cut off your evil friends.
  • In all your activities today, desire to walk with God like Enoch and Noah. Cut off evil friends, don’t watch what the Holy spirit will not watch, don’t say what the Holy Spirit will not say, don’t drink what the Holy spirit will not do, don’t go to where the Holy spirit will not go, and don’t do what the holy spirit will not do

Prayer: Holy Spirit, make me the Enoch of this generation in Jesus name

Who wrote song “It is well with my soul?”

Posted on

it is well with my soul lyrics hymn songThe song “It Is Well With My Soul” is a hymn penned by hymnist Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss.
Spafford had two girls and a wife and the family planned a summer trip to go overseas. Since he had a lot of work to do, he sent his family and decided to follow them later.
He heard the news while on the following ship that another ship had capsized and he knew that his family was there since they mentioned the name of the ship.
On His return home, his Law firm was burned down and the insurance refused to pay, they said “It’s An Act Of God”. He had no money to pay for his house and no work, he also lost his house.
Then while sitting and thinking what’s happening to him, being a spiritual person, he wrote a song – whatever my Lord, you have taught me to say – It is well, it is well with my soul.
My dear friend, a good attitude will determine your altitude. When you look at your life, career, job or family life, what do you say? Do you praise God? Do you blame the devil?
A good attitude towards God makes Him move on your behalf. Just sit down and say, Today God, it is well with my soul, I am thankful I had a peaceful sleep, I am thankful I am alive with possibilities, I am thankful I have a roof over me, I am thankful I have a job, I am thankful that I have Family and Friends. Above all, I am thankful that I have the Lord Jesus Christ on my side.
Be blessed and don’t be envious or shocked when others are prospering because you don’t know what they have been through to get there (test, trials and tribulation) so thank God for what you have. “Little is much when God is in it. It Is Well With My Soul! Touch someone’s life with this message if God is for us, who can be against us?
Don’t read if you can’t forward. God has seen you struggling with something. God says it’s over. A blessing is coming your way. If you believe in God send this message on, please don’t ignore it.
God is going to fix two (BIG) things in your favor. If you believe in God, drop everything and pass it on. Tomorrow will be the best day of your life. Don’t break this. Send this to fourteen friends in 10 minutes

Does God really blesses or we are better off achieving progress by our hard work? How do we receive Gods blessings life the Bible characters such as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

The truth is that God has blessed you before you are conceived in the womb of your mother, and you need to know that you are a carrier of God’s blessings

Genesis 1 vs. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

  • I have good news for you- You have been blessed from the beginning. You are one of the people God blessed. Before your parents gave birth to you, even before they conceived you, God have poured His blessings you.
  • And because you have been blessed, no man can curse you; because you have been blessed, you are not a failure, because you have been blessed, you must succeed;
  • God has played his own part to ensure you succeed in life. He has blessed you. To fulfil  His blessing, you need to take four simple steps as outlined in Genesis 1 vs 28. There are four keywords and instructions in this passage:
  1. 1.     Be fruitful – Do something that will add value and profit you. Lay your hands on a new dream, write a new vision, start a new project today, and pursue a new goal.
  2. Multiply – Increase your capacity, expand your scope, and reproduce yourself. Refuse to be stagnant.
  3. Replenish – Be a blessing unto others. Love, care and support the needy, orphans and widow. Be an oasis in the desert. Be compassionate, and give sacrificially.

  • Prayers – I am a blessing in Jesus name

It is the will of God for his children to make money and to be very rich. But we need to apply scriptural principles to money making and getting riches

The Bible clearly wants in Proverbs 20 vs 30:  An inheritance gained hastily at the beginning Will not be blessed at the end.

  1. If you wish to make heaven, you cannot afford to make money in a sharp and crooked way the people of the world make money in offices and businesses.
  2. Do you want riches? Do you want to be rich?  Be careful as the love for money may cause your to commit blunders that may cost you your salvation.
  3. Make sure you can legally and legitimately account for the source of every money you make, otherwise you may become rich financial but poor spiritually.
