James 4:4-6 (KJV)Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

James 4:4-6

4-6 You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has it that “he’s a fiercely jealous lover.” And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you’ll find. It’s common knowledge that “God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble.”

  1. Cheating is a word often used to describe unfaithful relationship between lovers
  2. A married man keeping a mistress is said to be cheating on his wife
  3. It the same vein a married woman involved in extra marital affairs is said to be cheating on his wife.
  4. Even in courtship or relationships either partners could cheat on themselves by dating someone else
  5. Cheating by either partner is viewed as a serious offence in relationship often leading to break ups, separations, or divorce.
  6. Just as we cheat on our partners in relationship we can also cheat on God.
  7. Earlier today, a member of this group told me she has rededicated her life to God assuring that she will never cheat on God again
  8. Are you cheating on God! How can you cheat on God?

What are the facts about spiritual adultery and cheating on God?

  1. The moment you become born again you have entered into a relationship with God
  2. God is jealous
  3. God respects covenants and agreements
  4. God is the lover of every Christian
  5. God is a faithful lover who demands faithfulness
  6. God is a possessive lover, He does not want you to share the love you have for Him with an anybody or anything else or any other god

James 4:4-6(KJV)Ye adulterers and adulteresses,

James 4:4-64-6 You’re cheating on God.

How can you commit spiritual adultery? How can you cheat on God?

  1. God thinks of you all the time and seeks you first every day, but are you not thinking of Him all the time or seeking Him first. You are cheating on God by not thinking of Him always and seeking Him first every day.
  2. God looks after you even when you are sleeping and snoring..throughout the terrors of the night.. If you wake up, and you refuse to say Good morning Jesus, refuse to do a quiet time, forget to do morning prayers, but remember to greet loved ones instead, you are cheating on God
  3. God through the Holy Spirit is always willing and ready to talk to you through His word. He wants to speak to you but you are ignoring him for other distractions. If you fail to fellowship with God by reading the Bible, through which He wants to speak with you, but you rather prefer to gossip with neighbours you are cheating on God.
  4. Anyday you fail to talk to God in prayers, you have cheated on God because He wants to hear your voice always. 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 17 says pray without ceasing
  5. If you prefer to talk to your phone all the time rather than your Bible…then you are cheating on God…that is why he called you an adulteress
  6. If you are supposed or have decided to attend a Christian programme, but got engrossed with movies or other worldly distractions, you have cheated on God and you are an adulteress. James 4:4-6King James Version (KJV)Ye adulterers and adulteresses
  7. Anytime you commit a sin, you have cheated on God, because you failed to keep your bargain to sin no more.
  8. Anytime you commit a sexual sin, you have cheated on God, His spirit is inside you and you have polluted your body which is the house of His spirit. I COR 6 VS 19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which isin you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
  9. Anytime you commit sexual sin, you are cheating on God whose spirit lives in your body and who cannot behold sin
  10. Anytime you disobey divine instructions you are cheating on God because He keeps his promises.
  11. Anytime you defile your body with alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, drug addiction, tattoos, you are cheating on God who designed you for His glory.God will not put a tattoo on His body, why are you defiling your body created in His image.
  12. Anytime you call on a god or indulge in idolatry you are cheating on God who is jealous and punishes idolatry upon to the fourth generation.
  13. Anytime you visit a false prophet or consult a magician you are provoking the jealous of God who punishes idolatry upon to the fourth generation.
  14. Anytime you give glory man instead of God, you are cheating on God who does not share His glory with man
  15. Anytime you refuse to honour God with your tithes you are cheating on God who gives you the power to make wealth
  16. Anytime you refuse to honour God with the best of your firstfruits, you are cheating on God who is the source of your promotion.
  17. Anytime you refuse or forget to give God a good offering like Abels, you are cheating on God who gives you the power to make wealth.
  18. Anytime you abandon Church, fellowship, Bible study, evangelism, or prayer for gossip, entertainment, shows, football, fashion, etc you are cheating on God who wants your attention all the time.
  19. Anytime you make a vow and refuse to fulfil it, you are cheating on the covenant keeping God.

Come back to God

  1. Confess your sins and repent
  2. Pledge to be faithful
  3. Go and sin no more
  4. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you
  5. Restitute where possible
  6. Redeclare your love to God

Memorise: “Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband” (1 Corinthians 7:2)

Read: 1 Corinthians 7:1-2

polygamy“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery” (Matthew 19:9).

A Christian who is married but goes ahead to take a second wife, or keeps a mistress outside, or divorces and remarries is an adulterer. In the Old Testament, polygamy was allowed but not without its negative effects on family life. However, in the New Testament, the Lord Jesus brought us back to how it was from the beginning.

Certain practices such as polygamy and divorce were permitted then because of the hardness of their hearts. Having seen the negative effects of such on families, He came to put things right with His grace to support. Anyone who is married but still looks out for sexual gratification from any other woman is an adulterer and is heading for hell.

In Matthew 19:4-6, an equation is given: Two – a man and his wife shall be one flesh. Two, not three or four. This talks about a divine blend into oneness. No polygamous home is one before God because they have failed to meet with Heaven’s equation. It is when two become one that it becomes difficult to separate them. This is why most polygamous homes are faced with division and strife, and break faster than true two-some homes.

If you look at the early church, you will notice that polygamy was out of fashion, but the few who stuck with it were not given any meaningful spiritual assignment (1 Timothy 3:2). God did not make a man to be the husband of two or more wives. That is utter confusion! If your pastor or leader is the husband of more than one wife, run out of that assembly. If your pastor or prophet is married, but still keeps a mistress or freely sleeps with other women, he is a false prophet.

Run away from that assembly before he takes you to hell. A polygamist leader will look for various ways, including scriptures to justify his sin. Abraham was a polygamist but he made restitution concerning Hagar. Were you a polygamist before you got saved? Go to your pastor for counselling.

Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life are the root causes of polygamy. Ask God to break their hold over you.

Psalm 1

Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take

Story of Samson: Choosing a marriage partner

Posted on

This message is titled ‘Choosing a marriage partner’. You may also give it another title that ‘I will NOT marry my enemy’.

We are going to use the story of Samson as a case study in this sermon, and I refer you to go and read judges 13 to chapter 16.

The story of Samson is one of the greatest tragedies in the Bible, this was a man who was heavily anointed by God but had his anointing deflated by a strange woman, this was a man who was called by God to deliver a nation but ended up in a trap of a strange woman

  1. Samson was somebody that was raised by God to free Israelites from the captivity of Philistines but he ended up being captured by his enemies, Samson was somebody who was supposed to kill and destroy all his enemies but ended up saying the most Satanic prayer in the Bible, he said he should be allowed to me die with my enemies.
  2. I pray for somebody who is reading and listening to this message that you shall not die with your enemies in Jesus name.
  3. We read in Judges 13 vs. 5 that Samson was dedicated to God from birth  and his destiny was to deliver Israel out of the hands of Philistines the oppressors. Unfortunately he was not able to fulfill that destiny as he died in the hand of the Philistines. I pray once more that you shall not miss your destiny in Jesus name.
  4. There were three strange women in the life of Samson. Samson’s problem started when he married his first wife from the camp of the enemy, the Philistine. The first woman Samson married was the daughter of Timath, a Philistine town, who was given away to his friend, this shows the deceitfulness of the enemy.
  5. The second woman Samson in his life was the harlot of Gazar who ended up calling all of the residents to gather at the gate of the town in order to kill Samson.
  6. The third woman in the life of Samson was Delilah, who ended up betraying Samson into the hands of the Philistines by disclosing  to them the secret of his divine strength. I pray that you shall not be captured by a Delilah in Jesus name. Any Delilah that has been programmed to disanoint you, that Delilah shall die in Jesus name.

What are the implications of Samson’s love tragedy or Samson’s romance with strange women?

  1. The first implication was that the wife he married was taken away from him and replaced with another woman. I pray for you again that your wife shall not be replaced with a counterfeit woman in Jesus name
  2. The second implication was that because Samson decided to romance with his enemy, he gave them an easy opportunity to hunt him down.
  3. The third implication was that because Samson decided to lust after women, instead of fulfilling his divine mission, he lost his peace as he was not busy planning vengeance against his enemies.
  4. The forth implication was that because Samson embarked on a romantic voyage, he was forced to dance before Dagon the god of Philistines. I pray for you again that you shall not dance before idols in Jesus name.
  5. When Samson was growing up, it was written in the Bible that the Holy Spirit fell upon him mightily, but when he allowed himself to be captured by Delilah, the Holy Spirit departed from him. I pray for you again that your lust for a strange woman shall not cause you to loose your anointing in Jesus name.
  6. Because Samson decided to marry from the camp of his enemies, he ended up being captured by his enemies who bound him and forcefully plug out his eyes. I pray for you again that what you are lusting after with your eyes will not cause you to loose your sight in Jesus name.
  7. Samson prayed one of the strangest prayer in the Bible after when he was captured by his enemies. He prayed to God to allow him to die with his enemies. I pray for you that you shall not die with your enemies in Jesus name.
  8. Lastly, Samson lost his destiny. He was supposed to deliver Israel fro the hands of the Philistines but he ended up being captured and killed by the Philistines. I pray for you that your canal desire and lust will not lead you to strange tragic death in Jesus name.

I shall be concluding this message by looking at six lessons we can learn from tragedy of Samson and I am taking my reference from Joshua 13 vs. 2-3

  1. Make sure you marry a strong believer and s solid born again Christian
  2. Keep your mind open and patiently listen to the advice and counsel of your parents and pastors.
  3. Be guided by love, not lust. Check the character of your partner and don’t be captured by her beauty. Delilah was a beautiful woman with a beautiful name, but she did not have a beautiful character.
  4. Avoid polygamy, Samson chased three women, be contented with one wife or one husband and have self control.
  5. Rely on God for direction and not on what you see
  6. Keep secrets.

David’s sex sin with Bathsheba.

Posted on Updated on

Sex sin can give evil spirits footholds to influence your life.

Romans 1:28-32 provides a vivid account of how sexual promiscuity and idolatry opened the door to many other forms of evil.

The Bible offers plenty of additional examples of sex sin and the ensuing consequences (see Bible Sex Sin Examples).

Perhaps the most famous is David’s sin with Bathsheba. His adultery with Bathsheba and murder of her husband produced family strife, the death of his son and opportunities for enemies to blaspheme God (2 Samuel 11-12).

Curses of illicit sex

Posted on Updated on

Sex sin can bring a curse on you, your partner and/or your children.

Sex sin gives Satan a right to oppress us and our descendants through curses (see generational curses). The scriptural basis for generational curses is found in Exodus 34:6-7 and several other passages.

Promiscuity, adultery, divorce, infertility, frigidity and other reproductive problems can sometimes be traced to curses arising from sexual sin (Numbers 5:11-31).

Please note that all curses can be broken by the applied blood of Jesus (Galatians 3:13-14)

Deliverance from sexual addiction

Posted on Updated on

Practicing sin forms a stronghold for evil in our lives. When we repeatedly sin, we give evil an increasingly protected place in our lives.

The more we give in to our sinful lusts, the more they have control over us. Paul described this as slavery to sin in Romans 6:16.

Sexual strongholds are particularly powerful, since they involve our body, soul and spirit. Thankfully, Jesus provided the means for us to break out of any stronghold and live for God in righteousness.

Consequences of Sexual Sin

Sexual sin produces consequences that will affect us deeply. Viewing porn is a form of sex sin committed through lust and idolatry. If you are looking at pornography, you are susceptible to the same consequences that result from other forms of sexual sin.

The consequences may not be easily absolved, but God will forgive you of your sin through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.

Whether you have already sinned, or are thinking about doing so, the point here is to encourage you not to sin.

Your body is God’s temple

Posted on Updated on

(1 Corinthians 6:17).

Sex sin defiles your body and damages its ability to fulfill God’s purposes. Sex sin is unique in that we commit it against our own bodies Our bodies function as temples of God’s Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:12-20).

When we use our body for sex sin, we dishonor our body and defile God’s temple. We’re also defiling the people that we are sinning with. Our lack of respect for the body (and for God) damages our relationship with God.

Sex sin grieves God’s Spirit. Any sin we practice will grieve God’s Spirit (Ephesians 4:31). It puts out the “fire” of the Holy Spirit in our life (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

The more we quench God’s Spirit, the less we will be inclined to live a changed life in righteousness.

Bible verses on the wages of sin

Posted on Updated on

 Romans 6:23:

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

everyone who works at one point or the other expects a reward. This reward could come in form of gifts, wages or salaries. The same goes for sin. Anyone who works for God gets his reward from God and anyone who works for sin also gets his reward thereby. The reward you receive however is an off shoot of your work.

1 Corinthians 3:8 “……….. and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labour.”

The reward you earn by working depends on the work you are engaged in. Sin came to the world by one man. Sin is evidenced in the works of the flesh.

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are :adultery,fornication,cleanness,lasciviousness,.Idolatary,witchcraft,hatred,variance,emulations,wrath,strife,seditions.Envyings,murders drunkenness, revellings and such like: of the which I tell you as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of GOD.” (Galatians 5:19-21).

Sin has a reward and its reward is DEATH. Divine justice is under obligation to give sinners their wages. Anyone who engages in the works of sin will reap the reward of sin, which is eternal death. Repent and live forever.

Do you want to be reconciled with God, through Jesus the Lord and Saviour? Then say this simple prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and have fallen short of your glory. I genuinely repent from all my sins and pledge to go and sin no more. I accept your plan to reconcile mankind to you through Jesus Christ, who you sent in your name.

I believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and died on the Cross to pay the penalty for my sins and redeem me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I pray that His blood washes my sins away. I invite the Holy Spirit to rule my Life. I am born again in Jesus name.

How to stop cheating on your spouse

1 kings 11 vs. 1-3:

But the King Solomon loved many strange women…of the nations concerning which the Lord had said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in unto them…..and he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned away his heart

There are many strange women in the Bible as the passages quoted above reveal, and the unfortunate thing is that these strange women caused the down fall of Kings and Princes.

Esau, lost the favour of his parents because he chooses to marry three strange women. Joseph would have lost his divine placement if he had failed to flee from a strange woman.

Samson was not that fortunate. He could tear a lion to pieces by the power of the spirit, but got kidnapped by his enemies. He was disgraced and suffered a humiliating death because he was entangled with a strange woman called Delilah. Read the rest of this entry »

Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the King’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold…then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her…and the woman conceived…”
Consequences of following strange women

Kings have been caged by her, many great men have been ensnared by her, Princes have become victims of her wanton destruction, and lowly placed men have their sorrows multiplied by her.

Strange women don’t have marital plans, but desire to deny the rightful wife the fruits of marriage. Some that have marital plans believe in what they can gain than what they can contribute to building the marriage.

Strange women are in our midst. They are all around us- in the working places, at social gatherings, and even in the Church. God ordained the institution of marriage to be a union of a male and a female.

Your wife should be your greatest confidant, friend and companion. Any other woman that takes this role away from your wife is a strange woman.

If you go a step further and become sexually involved with this woman, the strangeness becomes multiplied. At the worst if this woman becomes another ‘wife’, then you are treading on the path of destruction earlier followed by Esau, Samson, and Solomon.

What could have been David’s destruction was averted because he repented. May God deliver us from strange women.

Genesis 26 vs. 34-35:

When Esau was 40 years old, he married two Hittite women. One was Judith the daughter of Beeri. The other was Basemath the daughter of Elon. These marriages made Isaac and Rebekah very upset

How can you avoid Strange Women?

Through self determination and self willed. Joseph firmly decided in his heart that he would not commit sexual sin and God helped him.

Through violent resistant. Strange women are desperate; therefore you must also be desperate in your will to resist them. Joseph as a desperate Saint. He freed himself from the grip of a strange woman, left behind his clothing , and ran for his salvation.

You must be able to pay a price and make sacrifices for your uncompromising holiness. At times these strange women may be your boss or a person placed in higher positions that you, who may be in a position to dispense favours. You must be able to shun the lucre of fornication and pay the sacrifices that may arise.

Remained prayerful, seek the counsel of others and invite others to intercede for you in prayers. If Esau had sought the counsel of his parents, he would not have married the daughters of Hittites.

m an idolatrous family of Sidonians. If David had been prayerful, he would have had divine strength to overcome the spirit of lust. Solomon forgot God and fell into sexual and other sins.

How to avoid Sex sin

Illicit Sex

1 kings 11 vs. 1-3:

But the King Solomon loved many strange women…of the nations concerning which the Lord had said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in unto them…..and he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines, and his wives turned away his heart

How to avoid Strange Women
Be attached to God and the spirit through fellowship with the brethren and reading the Bible. The Holy Spirit will always warn you if you are about to take a wrong step. Faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Avoid situations and environments that influence you to strange relationships. These include worldly parties, pubs, and ungodly social gatherings.

Be choosy in the type of friends you maintain. Many have been influenced into bad habits under peer pressure. If all your friends are having an affair or a polygamist, then you are likely to end up being one.

Don’t keep evil secrets. Expose and flee from any appearance of evil. Don’t encourage yourself in ungodly relationships. Immediately you notice undue favours from the opposite sex, inform people around.

Strange women do not like their affairs to be known to people. If you also notice that you are being troubled by the spirit of lust, fast and pray and encourage the brethren to pray for you.

Lastly, if you naturally develop an attraction for a strange woman, don’t keep it secret, otherwise it will become depend. Inform good counselors about this, and they will keep watch over you to ensure you are not consumed by passion. Evil thrives in secrecy.

Sermon: Flee from adultery

Posted on Updated on

Genesis 35 vs. 22 – 22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve:

Genesis 49 vs. 3-4 – 3 Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.

  1. Reuben had sexual relationship with his father’s (Jacob’s) concubine.
  2. As a result of, Jacob cursed Reuben, his first born that he will never succeed in life.
  3. The pleasures of sin for few minutes resulted in a life long curse on Reuben.
  4. Flee from sexual immorality.

God of mercy cancel every inherited curse on my life in Jesus name.

Sexual sins in the Bible: The ‘little sin’ of King David

2 Samuel 11:2-5:One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “Isn’t this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her. (She had purified herself from her uncleanness.) ThenA she went back home. The woman conceived and sent word to David, saying, “I am pregnant.”

Is Homosexuality a sin?

Posted on Updated on

 By Evangelist Godwin

Jesus Christ left no room for any doubt about the need for his true followers to cling to his teachings when he declared in John 8:31 that, “… if ye abide in my word, then are ye truly my disciples; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” He made it clear also that true followership must come from the heart, and should not merely be a lip service in his declaration in Matthew 15: 8—9 that,“ These people honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching as their doctrines the precepts of men.”

The current world wide crisis regarding homosexual practice, homosexual marriage, and appointment of homosexual bishops and priests is a manifestation of only one aspect of the many ways in which the teachings of Jesus Christ have been contravened, by those who claim to be the custodians of the preaching by Christ. Unless something concrete is done to arrest the situation, the progressive erosion and contamination of the moral teachings of the Bible and Jesus Christ will make it impossible in future, to distinguish between truth falsehood adopted as parts of the Christian ways of life. Will Jesus forgive my sins?- Bible story of Zacchaeus

Posted on

Luke 19 vs. 1-10: “Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.  When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.

” So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly.  All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest of a ‘sinner.’ ”  But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.”  Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a son of Abraham. For the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost.”

Zacchaeus, the tax Collector typified sin in the Bible. The story in Luke 19 portrays him as a wealthy Tax collector who the Pharisees regarded as not worthy of entering the Kingdom of God, but was counted worthy by Jesus Christ the Saviour of mankind. Zacchaeus himself admitted that He is a Sinner, but he was eager and desperate to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. In order to get the mercy of God, he was willing to give up half of his possessions for the poor as a form of restitution, as required by the Mosaic laws. Moreover, Zacchaus was also willing to return all ill-gotten wealth acquired all false pretences. Read the rest of this entry »

Samson and Delilah- wages of sin is death

The rise and fall of men and kingdom could be directly tied to how effective they controlled their weaknesses.  The weaknesses in a man are those things that held him in bondage to the enticing influence of the flesh. The more he tries to escape, the more he is entangled.

The Biblical account of Samson underscored the damaging effects of uncontrolled weaknesses (Judges 16:4-21). Samson was a great man of valor. Read the rest of this entry »

Lets pray against gay marriage in Argentina

The first ‘gay marriage’ license has been issued in South America.

Mimicking a dreadfully familiar practice in the USA, two Argentine men sued the city of Buenos Aires for not marrying them; a renegade judge heard their case, overthrew the law of the land which defines marriage in Argentina as solely heterosexual, and granted them a marriage license. Sexual sin: the Bible, christianity and sex sin

By Dr. D.K. Olukoya

ROMAN 6:14
Sexual sins open the doors for all kinds of evil spirits to enter. This prayer programme is for those: Who frequently dream of having sex.
Rom. 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”
Please, open your Bible and slowly, meditatively read Romans 1:18-32 and Leviticus 18:1-30.
Are you surprise at the things you’ve just read? Indeed there is nothing new under the sun! (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

Basically the laws of God concerning sexual perversion as stated Leviticus 18 can be divided into 5 groups.

They are laws against
– Incest (i.e. have sex with relatives, brothers, in law’s uncles etc., there are 20 categories of close relatives stated between verse 6 and 19)
– Adultery (vs. 20) – idolatry i.e. offering child sacrifices ( vs. 21)
– Homosexuality, lesbianism, masturbation, prostitution etc (vs22)
– Bestiality (have sex with animals (vs. 23) Read the rest of this entry »
