Proverbs 23 vs. 26 – My son, give me thine heart…”

  1. Daily we all pray to God to give us our needs. This is quite biblical and scriptural.
  2. Our prayer every day to God is mostly about requesting one thing or the other from God.
  3. Our prayer requests most times is requesting God to give us something
  • God give me a husband
  • God give me a wife
  • God give us children
  • God give me house
  • God give me money
  • God give me car
  • God give me visa
  • God give me job
  • God give me clothes
  • God give me.., God give me…,God give me….is a recurring decimal in our prayers
  1. The interesting thing is that any good relationship is not a one-way traffic.
  2. Relationship has to be mutually benefitting.
  3. Just as we want God to give us various things, God also want something from us.
  4. There is something God wants you to give him today, will you be willing to give Him?
  5. We may have various prayer requests before God, but God only have one prayer requests for us
  6. We may want God to give us several things, but God wants just one thing from us
  7. There is something God wants you to give him today, are your ready to give Him?
  8. We want clothes, money, house, job, husbands etc from God…but He also wants something from us. Just one thing.

  1. The 12 disciples of Jesus were introduced in Mathew 10.
  2. Why did Jesus choose 12 disciples, perhaps the tribes in Israel?
  3. Why were all the disciples’ male? The plausible reason is to avoid issues that may occur in mixing married or unmarried male and females together on His hectic missionary and evangelistic work. However, several other female disciples ministered to him
  4. Disciples of Jesus should preach the gospel, and the central message should be that of repentance and salvation. Sermons should be heaven focused (vs.7)And as ye go, preach, saying, the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

  1. Ministers of Christ are empowered to heal the sick and raise the dead (vs.8)Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead
  2. Ministers are empowered to cast out devils and deliver people from demonic oppression (vs.8), cast out devils
  3. Ministers should not commercialize the gospel or place a price tag on healing, deliverance, or salvation (vs.8)freely ye have received, freely give.
  4. Ministers should trust God to provide their wages- Verse 9 and 10 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.
  5. Ministers should depend on God for financial provision (vs.9, 10) 9 Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, 10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

  1. Salvation is by informed consent. Ministers should not spread the gospel where they are not welcomed (vs.11)And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.
  2. Ministers of the gospel should be wise and smart and avoid falling into traps of the ungodly (vs.16): be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
  3. Ministers of Christ should abstain from all evils, and be peaceful (vs.16)be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
  4. Ministers should be watchful and vigilant of haters of the gospel (vs.17)But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;
  5. Ministers of the gospel should expect to be persecuted, hated by the ungodly (vs.22)And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

  1. Ministers should not confront persecutors of the gospel, but ‘flee’ from them (vs.23)But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.
  2. Ministers of Christ should not be ashamed of the gospel (vs.33)But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
  3. Ministers should preach the gospel boldly and openly (vs.27)What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

  1. Your enemies will be blood relations– verse 36- And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
  2. Any Christian who does not minister Christ is akin to an infidel (vs.38)And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
  3. Those that support the Minister of the gospel shall be divinely rewarded (vs. 40, 41&42)40 He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. 41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. 42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Bible study on Mathew 9

  1. Matthew 9 further reveals the healing and salvation ministry of Jesus Christ.
  2. Jesus healed the paralytic, (vs.2) – And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee;
  3. Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years, (vs.22) – But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour;
  4. He rose the daughter of the king from dead, (vs.25)– But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

  1. He also caused the blind men to see, (vs.30) – And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
  2. He healed the dumb  (vs.33)– And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
  3. Jesus also introduced himself again as the Savior, and friend of sinners. He dined with a crowd of drunkards and sinners. He did not stigmatize nor label them as outcasts. Rather, he announced his ministry to them: ‘(vs.13)– for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
  4. If the only thing we do in church or Christian ministry is to preach to the saved, then we are not fulfilling the ministry of Jesus Verse 12 – 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
  5. Jesus revealed himself as a teacher of the word, preacher of the gospel, and a city/village evangelist. The miracles of Jesus were either preceded or accompanied by teaching of the Word of God, and preaching on repentance from sins.

  • Lastly Jesus lamented that absence of labourers to harvest souls to the kingdom. Would you decide today to harvest souls for the kingdom by doing the work of a missionary, evangelist, or Pastor?

Verse 37Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but     the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

  • Do you want to remain as a church goer, a bench warmer in church or you want to step out for Jesus from today as a harvester of soul?

  • The devil shall not harvest your soul in Jesus name
  • The devil shall NOT harvest my soul in Jesus name

Bible study on Matthew 8

Posted on Updated on

Matthew 8 introduces us to the three-fold ministry of the Lord Jesus:

  1. Ministry of healing
  2. Ministry of deliverance
  3. Ministry of salvation

  1. Jesus is the Healer
  2. Jesus healed the leper – 2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
  3. Jesus healed the man sick of palsy (vs.6)And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented;
  4. Jesus healed Peter’s mother sick of fever (vs. 14)And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
  5. If you wish to receive a miracle, start by worshipping God. The leper worshipped Jesus before requesting for healing

vs. 2 –  And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying

  1. The leper worshipped Jesus. What are you passing through that is hindering you from worshipping God?
  2. The leper worshipped God and received a miracle. Jesus does not respond to weeping, murmurings, or lamentations. Jesus respond to worship
  3. You need faith to receive divine healing. The centurion received divine healing for his servant by faith. Verse 88The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
  4. Jesus healed by speaking word of God (vs. 8 and 15) – 8The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.  15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.

Jesus did not heal by asking people to drink holy water, asking them to bath in streams, asking them to sow a financial seed for healing, or asking the sick to rub spiritual cream on the body. He simply spoke the word of God healed the sick.

  1. If you desire healing, just speak the word. Compile healing scriptures and recite them daily.
  2. Jesus healed the sick by touch. The finger of Jesus shall touch you today in Jesus name

Verse 3:And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him

  1. Jesus is the deliverer. He delivered many that were possessed by devils ( 16) – 16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

And (vs. 28) – 28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

  1. Deliverance is core of Jesus’s ministry. Jesus cast out devils. You can cast out every devils troubling your life in Jesus name.
  2. Deliverance is by the word of God, Deliverance is not by any other material, except the word. It is the word that delivers, not intermediaries such as oil, handkerchief, water, soap, clothes, or photograph of men of God.

Verse 16 – and he cast out the spirits with his word

  1. Jesus was asleep despite the stormy winds that was drowning the ship because he knew angels are ministering to him and God is in control. We need to be calm in face of crises and trust in Emmanuel, God is with us

Verse 24 – And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

  1. The disciples of Jesus were almost getting drowned but Jesus intervened. The disciples were almost perishing in the sea, but Jesus saved them. As long as you are with God, you shall not perish in any stormy wind of life in Jesus name. The Lord Jesus shall surely save you from perishing

Verse 25: And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

  1. Jesus is the Saviour. He rebuked the stormy wind, and saved his disciples from the drowning ship.

Verse 26  And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

  • I rebuke every storm in your ship in Jesus name

  1. Christians should be ready to make sacrifices for the kingdom. If you wish to carry the cross and follow Jesus, you should be ready to make sacrifices.

Verse 20: And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head

  1. Are you a true follower of Jesus.? Are you ready to follow Jesus anywhere? The disciples of Jesus followed him. If you are not doing any thing for the kingdom or obeying Gods laws, then you are not following Jesus

Verse 23:  And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him.

  1. You need to speak the word to claim your healing, call on Jesus to deliver you from devils; and pray to Him to save you from the stormy winds threatening to drown you.

  • My body hear the word of God, be healed in Jesus name
  • Devils afflicting my life, I cast you out in Jesus name
  • Jesus of Nazareth, save me.

Memorise: “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Read: Luke 15:17-19

prodigal-sonTo ride on horse back is unusual progress. Effortless progress is quite an exciting experience. Who would not want to come to church when you know that the blind could see, the lame could walk or you will receive a miracle judging by past services? The presence of the miraculous has a way of spicing people’s enthusiasm to attend church meetings.

On the other hand, why won’t people lose interest in coming to church when they know it is the same praises, sermon or activity? Nothing is as spiritually killing as a cold Sunday sermon. Ministers must pay the price to deliver life-giving sermons to the congregation. In the Early church, they had great services both in the temple and in house fellowships. It was glorious progress because the leaders were riding on the back of the Holy Spirit.

Struggling stops the moment you ride on the back of the Holy Ghost. If only we can allow the Holy Spirit to carry us instead of carrying ourselves, the world will see remarkable exploits they never imagined. This is because riding is next to flying.

What can a trekking prince do to get back on the horse? First, find out what you did wrong that got you displaced. This calls for frank and unbiased personal examination. Ask yourself, where did things go wrong? Once you discover this, acknowledge your fault like the prodigal son. Willingly retrace your steps and make amends.

You would need the help of somebody greater than you to help you unseat the servant that is riding your horse because that servant would do anything to prevent a return to trekking. In the case of Samson, he cried to the Almighty God for help (Judges 16:28-30). Some time ago, our church was increasing by about 100 people every one or two months. I thought we were doing great but one day, God told me I was trekking instead of riding. Then He reminded me of the glorious days when the two of us will be chatting in my car.

Sometimes, I would stop the car just to discuss with Him. So He asked when last that happened? I apologized and put things right. That marked a new beginning for me. As you reconcile and restitute, and the Lord puts you back on the horse, keep all servants where they belong. Your flesh is your number one servant. It must be kept under (1 Corinthian 9:27).

Also, always remember to remain under the authority of the One who can lift up and pull down. Or else, no servant will want to obey you. In addition, pray without ceasing ( 1 Thessalonians 5:17). If you cannot pray, you are indirectly telling God you do not need Him. You will be restored to your horse back but stay there by His power and grace.

Some believers are trekking today because they took their internal weaknesses for granted until they were enslaved by them.

Memorise: “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32)

Read: Matthew 10:32-33

christA young slave girl that was brought into the house of Naaman witnessed of the power of her God and eventually linked her master to his miracle (2 Kings 5:2-4). Never underestimate the power of a maid, house help or subordinate. You cannot tell if the person you are looking down upon is the same avenue for the miracle you crave. In any case, with how many people have you shared your testimony?

A driver led his female boss to Christ and she also led another lady to Christ. This second lady brought in a harvest of souls to the Kingdom through whom about 12 churches were established. All from the testimony of one driver! There will be lots of surprises in Heaven. Some insignificant people – house maids, messengers, cooks, gardeners, drivers, house boys, etc. who were faithful witnesses of Christ will be sitting closer to Jesus Christ, than many well acclaimed pastors.

The name of this maid was not mentioned because she was considered insignificant. But I believe when we get to Heaven, the Lord Jesus will introduce her to us as the one who brought salvation to Naaman. She will stand tall among others on that day!

I want Jesus to talk about me to God, His angels and fellow brethren. This is more important than when men sing your praise. In Matthew 10:32, Jesus says, “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven”.

Do you know by declaring God’s goodness in your life or His saving grace, you are sowing on earth? Each time you preach Christ to somebody, you sow a seed. However, Psalm 126:5-6 calls it precious seed because it is a rare seed that is sown on earth, but releases its harvest in Heaven. Of all seeds anyone can sow, soul winning is the greatest because apart from the immeasurable harvest, Jesus Christ will become the herald of the soul winner.

He will summon the angels and everyone in Heaven and talk about how good, loving and kind the soul winner is to His Kingdom. No wonder soul winners are very popular in Heaven! People would have heard so much about you even before your arrival.

Besides, He will take the fellow’s matter to God and speak so well about him that the Father would be compelled to grant his requests. This period, lead at least 10 souls to Christ, then ask Him to intercede on your behalf before God.

You can determine how popular you will be in Heaven by how popular you make Jesus on planet earth.

What is the true essence of Christmas?

Posted on Updated on

Matthew 1 vs. 21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from the sins.

In the next couple of weeks, Christians will mark the birthday of Jesus Christ, on what is popularly known as Christmas day. What is the significance of Christmas?

Jesus is the essence of Christmas, as a matter of fact, the word Christmas is a derivation of the word ‘Christ’. If we are celebrating Christmas, it is therefore important to know and believe in the person after whom the day was named.

As shown in the biblical passage above, Jesus Christ came on a salvage mission, to save mankind from their sins. Christmas should therefore be a time for repentance for those who have not accepted God’s plan of salvation for mankind, and a time for sober reflection and rededication for those all those that have accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born about 2007 years ago to save you from your sins. The good news is that his salvation programme did not end 2007 years ago. He is still alive ready to save you from your sins. God has given a grace of 2007 years for anyone willing to be saved to come unto him. As Christmas rolls in, it should be a time of remembrance of Gods plan of salvation.

If you do not have Christ in your life, then you be celebrating Christmas without the presence of the Celebrant in your life.

The essence of Christmas is therefore to accept Christ, the celebrant into your life and invite him to dine with you for the rest of your life. The good news is that there is a greater Christmas in heaven, a Christmas whose celebration do not end in a day. Only the redeemed can participate in this everlasting Christmas.

To register your name as a redeemed, repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord, and live a life of complete holiness. Make this confession:

Jesus Christ, I welcome you to my life as this Christmas, I accept God’s plan of salvation through you and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Come into me and rule me in Jesus name i pray. (Amen).

The old rugged cross-Lyrics and Video

Posted on

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suff’ring and shame,
And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.
Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above,
To bear it to dark Calvary.
In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see;
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

Service to God: How should I serve God? How do we serve the Lord?

Exodus 23 vs 25: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy read and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee

Job 36 vs 11: If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasurerewardsofevangelism

  1. Service to God is key to prosperity and good health.
  2. Service to the Lord goes beyond be a church goer, it means being a labourer for the Lord.
  3. Every labour you do for the Lord should end up directly or indirectly in winning souls.
  4. Many people are wondering why they are ‘serving’ the Lord through various activities, but are not receiving spiritual rewards. In some cases, people are really serving church leaders through hypocrisy to be rewarded with church positions. No thanks to the doctrines of many churches that have really replaced church service to Gods service. The contemporary church seems to be more interested in a crowd rather than winning heaven bound souls.
  5. Any church activity that you engage in that does not result directly or indirectly in soul winning is a waste of time, energy, and fruitless. It is anti-scriptural, anti-Christ, and is not a service to the Lord.
  6. If you want to experience the promises of Exodus 23 vs 25; and Job 36 vs 11 ensure you embark on aggressive soul winning in and/or outside the church.

Essence of Christianity: What does it mean to follow Jesus?

Posted on

soul winning evangelism

Mark 1 vs 17: “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

  1. The essence of Christianity is to primarily do the work of the Evangelist, every other thing becomes secondary.
  2. If you make yourself a follower of Christ, you should therefore be willing to trained by the Holy Spirit to bring others into following Christ.
  3. Following Jesus, without fishing for men is not an option, an act of disobedience, and may infact be a sin.
  4. Decide today not only to follow Jesus, but also to fish for men and women

I receive the grace to fish for the kingdom in Jesus name

Bible commentary om Rev. 3 vs 20 : Here I am , I stand by the door and knock

Posted on Updated on

Rev. 3 vs. 20:  Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

download (6)

What are the lessons of this verse?

  1. Jesus wants to save you, that’s why he is standing by the door of your heart.
  2. Jesus have been standing at the door of your heart, since your birth; you might have served God before and have not backslidden. He is saying, Here I am to receive you back to me, if only you can repent.
  3. Jesus does not force himself on anyone; he cannot force himself into your heart; that’s why he is waiting for you to open your heart to accept him.
  4. Jesus is eager to receive you to his kingdom that is why he is standing not sitting, though the act of standing is more stressful. It shows he is ready to sacrifice and endure pain in order to receive you to his kingdom. How long would you keep Jesus standing
  5. You have closed your hearts to his words, and he wants you to open it now for him.
  6. Jesus could not come into your heart, because someone else- Satan has occupied your heart. Why not cast Satan out of your heart, and allow Jesus to come in now? Rev. 3 vs. 20: Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
  7. Jesus says if anyone hears my voice…meaning Salvation is for everyone and anyone. No matter the gravity of your past sins, Jesus is willing to forgive you if you come to him in repentance.
  8. Jesus says if anyone hears my voice…meaning it is possible to hear Gods voice or the devil’s voice. Which voice have you been obeying?
  9. Jesus says if you open the door, he will come in…meaning salvation is a freewill. The decision to serve Jesus or Satan is your choice.
  10. Lastly Jesus promises a marriage supper of the Lamb if you accept him as Lord and Savior. There is rest, joy, and peace with Jesus. If you open your heart for him he will give you abundant life. Jesus is not calling you to poverty, rather he wants to save you and bear your burdens.
  11. Would you invite Jesus into your heart today?

Commentary on Mark 8 vs 36: How to make heaven

  • For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? – Mark 8 vs 36

    By Babatope Babalobi

  1. What does it profit a man, to have mansions in Dubai, Caribbean Islands, Cape town, New York, London etc and end up not having a mansion in heaven, but in hell?
  2. What does it profit a man to be most powerful man like the President of the United States living in a white house, but end up living in burning furnace for eternity.
  3. What does it profit a man to spend his years in illicit sexual pleasures with a harem of women, and lose the everlasting pleasure of paradise?
  4. What does it profit the famed King Solomom to have have a thousand wives and concubines, and miss the marriage supper of the lamb?mark 8 vs 36
  5. What does it profit a man to be the richest man in his village, country, continent, or in the world, and not have riches in heaven?
  6. What does it profit a man to be an Emeritus Professor and a Nobel Prize winner, and yet end up in hell like other people the Bible describes a fools?
  7. What does it profit a man to be celebrated as the most prized footballer in the world, and end up being tossed up and down like a ball in hell?
  8. What does it profit a man to be celebrated as the King or Queen of Pop or Reggae, to be described as an International superstar, winning several Oscars and Hollywood awards, but miss the prize of spending eternity with God in heaven.
  9. What does it profit a man to travel the whole world on tourism, and end up travelling to hell at death?
  10. What does it profit a man to live and die in sin and unbelief,  not guaranteeing a place for himself in eternity with Jesus!
  11. Repent now and be saved

Making heaven: How to go to heaven

Posted on Updated on

It is war to get to Heaven. If you patronize your flesh regularly, you will terminate your heavenly race on earth
Memorise: “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Tim 2:4)

Read: Jude 5-7

One person whose heavenly race was terminated as a result of worldly weights was Lot’s wife. She was one person who obtained mercy from God but still missed it. Lot’s uncle – Abraham interceded for them. God sent angels to the town they resided, and ensured that they passed by the front of Lot’s house.God arranged everything for Lot to see and recognize the divine visitors. In spite of these efforts, they were dragging their feet and so the angels grabbed them by the hand and forced them out. The angels thought at least they had saved four souls. But then Mrs. Lot remembered her gold, diamond and trinkets in Sodom which she could not take with her. Her attachment to them was so strong. Their control over her was so overbearing.making heaven

How could she ever part with such precious treasures? Heaven was pulling her on one hand but the pull of worldly things was stronger. The stronger pull must prevail. Eventually, worldly weights got a better part of her. She took one last look and was lost forever!

“No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” (2 Tim 2:4). It is war to get to Heaven. If you patronize your flesh regularly, you will terminate your heavenly race on earth. Lot’s wife looked back. That was not her first time.

She did it several times before and she got away with it. She thought doing it one more time was harmless. Little did she know there was a looking back that could totally damn the looker forever. Have you been compromising with sinful colleagues in the office or at school? Have you been lying and getting away with your lies? Have you been fornicating and have never been caught? Have you become so bold and comfortable stealing church money because you have never been caught?

Beware! Your last time is coming and you cannot escape it except you totally repent and turn a new leaf. Lot’s wife looked back and she lost both ways – she did not receive her treasures in Sodom and she did not escape God’s judgement. In the end, the compromisers become double losers. Are worldly pleasures pulling you so strongly to hell? Ask God for grace to break away.

While some faithfully serve God and become double winners, others play smart with God and lose on earth and in Heaven. Your actions today will determine your placement.

How can I be saved in Jesus Christ?

Posted on Updated on

God’s Plan of Salvation

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6) Good works cannot save you.“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) Trust Jesus Christ today! Here’s what you must do:

1.     Admit you are a sinner.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23) “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12) “If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)

2.     Be willing to turn from sin (repent).Jesus said: “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5) “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:” (Acts 17:30)

3.     Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

4.    Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

What to pray:
Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

How to Grow in Christian faith and power

Posted on Updated on

1.      Read your Bible every day to get to know Christ better.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15) “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105)

 2.     Talk to God in prayer every day.

“And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” (Matthew 21:22) “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)

3.     Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (Matthew 28:19) “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25) “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16)

 4.     Tell others about Christ.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15) “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16) “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)

Isaiah 12:1-14:32, Psalm 57:1-12, 2 Corinthians 13:1-13

·          Jesus demonstrated God’s tenderness and gentleness. God is always courteous, kind and even-tempered. He is never harsh or cruel in his treatment of sinners. Jesus did not try to embarrass or demean the woman caught in adultery. He also did not excuse her. He gave her a way of escape – of sin no more. Have you noticed how God treats you? Has He ever exposed your weakness, he corrects us and his kindness leads us to repentance. He covers your sin with his grace and forgiveness.

Heaven and rewards of christians: Seek ye first the Kingdom of God

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” ( Matthew 6:33 )

Read: 1 Kings 17:1-3

Pastor E.Adeboye

The only introduction we are given of Elijah, is contained in verse one of our reading. He came from a humble home and his parents were so insignificant in Gilead that God did not even bother to mention their names. Other major Prophets such as Isaiah, the son of Amos, Jeremiah the son of Libnah and Ezekiel the son of Buzi, were introduced by their father’s names.

This only reveals one of the working of the Holy Spirit- to make the unknown to be known. Are you considered insignificant in your village, office or where you are? The Lord knows you. By the time He is through with you, you will become very popular.

“But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” ( Matthew 6:33 ).

What the world has failed to realize is that the fame, popularity, power, prestige and wealth they have been fighting and killing one another for, which have also hindered many of them from following Jesus Christ, are adequately provided for in the Gospel.

You would be amazed to know the covenants many people make with Satan just to have a few years of power, riches and fame! Equally surprising are the terrible consequences they are prepared to undergo for a moment’s pleasure.

Ironically, those in the Gospel of Jesus have these blessings in full doses with peace. They reign as kings here over physical, material and spiritual situations. They just serve God and the Lord rewards them faithfully.

Beyond this, they will co-reign with Jesus Christ over the earth for 1000 years as spiritual and political leaders under the best theocratic government ever known in the history of this world.

By then most of the known world leaders would have gone into oblivion. Thereafter, they will reign for the rest of eternity with Jesus in a reign that never ends, when death has no more place in God’s plan. Then, many of us who are unknown today, will be the most popular for all eternity, the time that matters most.

I would rather stick with my Jesus till the end and partake of this blessedness than go after the limited pleasures the present world system can offer. What about you?

Seeking Jesus Christ is the easiest way to have popularity, wealth and power. If you seek each of these, you will not only lose Jesus, but follow the difficult way

Memorise: “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” ( Acts 16:31 )

Read: Acts 16:27-32

Pastor E. Adeboye

God’s plan to salvation covers the entire family. If you are saved but members of your family are not, don’t celebrate yet. You must be ready to pay whatever price to save every member of your family. In 1 Samuel 25:20-31 , David was angry that his security services for Nabal’s men were not appreciated.

To worsen the situation, his men were humiliated. So he rose with them to take revenge on Nabal and his household. But Abigail, the wise wife of Nabal took quick steps to prevent harm to her family.

When they met on the way she came down from her horse, knelt down and fell flat at David’s feet. Thereafter, she spoke very soothing words to soften his heart before offering her gift. Abigail could go any length to save her family from physical death!

Revelation 20:12-15 tells us there is a death worse than physical death. It is the second death.

This is eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. Everyone whose names are not written in the most important register of the universe – The Book of Life, will be hurled into this fire immediately after judgement.

Any member of your family whose name has not been registered in that book is already heading for this eternal lake. When the jailer saw the earthquake in the prison, he immediately surrendered to Christ. Yet, he took every member of his family along.

Some Christians give up on family members easily. After spending a few thousands, they say they cannot continue to waste their time, effort and resources on family members who are not ready to receive Jesus Christ. No sacrifice is too much for the salvation of your family!

Noah spent 120 years to build an ark that would save himself, his family and some animals ( Gen 7:17 ). According to Genesis 18:23-32 , Abraham interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah just because he wanted his nephew Lot and his family saved.

On receiving the news of an impending destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot immediately ran to his in-laws to possibly save them. How many of your family members are saved?

Take a family audit of those who are saved and those who are not. Organize a team of the saved; plan, pray, fast, put resources together and launch out to the rescue of unsaved members. You must not be guilty of their blood. You have no excuse if any member of your family ends up in hell. Take a step today!

Personally lead family members to Christ. Use every resource at your disposal
