Read Revelation 2-3

  1. The church in Ephesus laboured for God, abhored evils, exposed false prophets in their midst, and condemned the ungodly deeds of the Nicolatians. Unfortunately, the Church of Ephesus became spiritual cold and abandoned its firsts works which is Evangelism and soul winning. Just like the Church of Ephesus several churches have abandoned their first love for worldly pursuits.
  2. The Church of Smyrna was one of the two churches, God did not find a fault. The church suffered for the gospel in poverty, endured tribulations and persecutions and had spiritual strength. The Holy Spirit encouraged them to press on to the crown even at the cost of their lives. Is your church like the Church of Smyrna?
  3. The Holy Spirit commended the Church of Pergamos for withstanding persecutions including the murder of Antipas. But the church had compromised with sin. Its members felicitated with idolators and ate their food, indulged in fornication, and associate with the anti Christ Nicolaitians sect. The Holy called for repentance otherwise He would fight them. In what ways have you compromised your Christian walk. Repent and be saved in Jesus name
  4. The church in Thyatira was commended for its charity and diligent service to God. However, the spirit of sexual immorality was prevalent in the church as pastors slept with church members. Holy Spirit warned them to cast out this Jezebelic spirit and repent. Is adulterty and fornication happening in your ministry and being swept under the carpet.
  5. The church of Sardis was near perfect but not perfect as some members had stained their banners. Holy Spirit is telling you today walk before me and be perfect.
  6. The church in Philadelphia just like the church in Smyrna was found blameless. The church kept the word of God though of little strength. May God find your blameless in Jesus name
  7. The Church in Laodicea was condemned for being spiritual lukewarm. The Church was rich, had a lot of assets, and lacked nothing. The Holy Spirit described as spiritually blind and poor despite its material riches. Several contemporary churches are material rich but spiritually hollow. Several Christians are financially prosperous but spiritually poor. Holy Spirit is calling for repentance and spiritual zealousness.
