How to stop worrying and trust God

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” (Matt 6:27)Read: Matthew 6:25-27
trust“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (Jn 1:12).A man who had been chain-smoking for years, gave his life to Christ. Not long after he went back to his cigarettes. He kept battling with a relapse of his Christian faith until one day the brother who led him to the Lord plainly told him: “If you truly took that decision to follow Jesus, then God has forgiven and saved you.The power to overcome this sinful habit has been released. But you have to choose whether to enforce your rights or not. As long as you fail to receive and use the power, you will remain enslaved to smoking”. The day you received Jesus Christ into your heart, power was released. But the power may not work until you exercise it. Change occurs in the process of exercising it.

You cannot live holy until you receive and exercise the power from above.

A sister once invited me to lunch. After I accepted to be her guest, she became troubled. Apparently, she gave the invitation expecting that I would turn it down. She was worried as to whether I would enjoy the meal. She prayed and fasted before the appointed day.

After enjoying the meal on my visit, I asked her, “How were you able to prepare such a delicious meal?” She said it was the Holy Spirit who assisted her. John 15:5 says without Jesus we can do nothing. How often do you present your fears before the Lord and allow His power to take control? Yes, God cares so much for you – even up to what you will prepare for your visitors.

Do you ask Him for help? Many have taken worry as an option. It is not ! You cannot cast your cares on Him and be worrying at the same time. Stop worrying, and start trusting. If you worry, it will reflect on your face. If you trust Him, it will also reflect in your countenance. Attitudes also show whether one is worrying or trusting. Learn to completely depend on Him for all the needs in your life.

Matthew 6:27 says your worrying cannot accomplish anything positive. It lacks power to increase, rather, it will diminish the good things it meets.

When God worries about a matter, He will solve it. When you worry about it, your attempt to solve it may compound it.

Tips for Making tough and difficult decisions

Posted on

How can Christians make and take tough and difficult decisions?

Lot was in a similar situation, he had a difficult and tough decision to make. Did he choose right? How can we learn from the bible story of Lot in our every day life in making and taking tough and difficult decisions?

Genesis 13 vs. 10And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.

  1. Lot had a difficult decision to make in choosing whether to dwell in well watered plain of Jordan or the land of Canaan.
  2. He eventually choose Jordan, which became a huge mistake in later years as God destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.
  3. Your destiny is tied to the quality of decisions you have taken in the past and the quality of decisions you may take in the future.
  4. Most likely you are about to take a critical decision. This decision may be in regard to your career, marriage, job, travelling opportunity, education, finance, or business.
  5. What lessons can we learn from the experience of Lot? How do we avoid taking wrong decisions and make good decisions?makiing tough difficult decisions
  • Don’t take any decision in a hurry. Unless is a matter of life and death, don’t allow any one to hurry you into taking any decision. Be patient. Think over it. Sleep over it. There is always something fishy about a decision that cannot wait for the next day.
  • Gather information about other options and alternatives you have. Don’t believe anyone that says there is no alternative to Not all that glitters is gold.
  • Pray to God before you make a life decision and the spirit of God will direct you in Jesus name.
  • Any good decision you take must give you a peace of mind. So a litmus test to know if you have taken a good decision, is if you have complete peace of mind at the end.
