Memorise: “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept” (1 Cor 15:20)

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:20-23

resurrection-of-christ“But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the first fruits of them that slept” (1 Cor 15:20). Jesus Christ is called Alpha because He is first in everything. He is the first to resurrect from the dead. He is first so that you can be first. If you are anything but first in your academics or secular endeavors, it could be because you have not been introduced to The First.

Do you know it is your Kingdom right to be first? Jesus became The First so that you can be first in every good thing. From today, you shall be the head. You shall move up from where you have been, and become the head – the first among your colleagues. One way to enter and occupy that reserved space in leadership, is to carefully listen and completely obey what Jesus the Head says. You cannot be disobedient to the First and expect to be first.

Also, make Him first in every area of your life. Colossians 1:18 says Jesus is Head and First so that He can have pre-eminence. Does He have control over your life? As long as He is not the Lord of your life, you cannot take a seat in the space of leadership He has reserved for you.

Genesis 1:1, says “In the beginning, God…” Whenever you are starting anything, make sure you start with Him. Start your business, home and career with Him. Let Him be the foundation of all you do. He is the best foundation you can ever find (1 Cor 3:11). Take Him as your confidant because He is a friend that is closer than your brother, spouse or parent. Share all your challenges first with Him.

Moreover, according to Matthew 6:33, seek Him first. That means making Him your life’s treasure hunt. Search for Him with all your heart. Seek Him daily. Set time apart just to seek Him. As you do so this year, He will take you up to occupy that headship space He has reserved for you.

When you occupy that position, struggling stops. With little efforts, you will be making expedited progress. It is a place of power. Everything subject to the Head will be subject to you. You will decree and He will personally supervise its manifestation. This year, let your focus be how you can occupy this position in Christ. When there, your future is guaranteed!

Never share your plan or secret with anyone until you have shared them with the First.

Revelation 22 vs 12:  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work.

The Holy Spirit showed me a revelation this morning. I was in the company of some colleagues and we reached the bank of a river.

The water was very black, dirty, and a muddy; a few of us including me said we can’t swim in the river because its dirty.

To my surprise, before I know what was happening, some of my colleagues jumped into the dirty river without caring its dirtiness, and started swimming.

I watched in amazement.

Suddenly I looked up and saw the clouds gathering and I ran away from the river side in order not to be beaten by rain.

It soon started to rain and I looked back at my colleagues who were swimming, and was afraid they will be drown.

I managed to escape to a building, and was ushered to a banquet Hall. And I woke up.

The interpretation the Holy Spirit gave me about the dream is this…. people swimming in dirty river… Are people willingly indulging in sin despite knowing its consequences against the prosperity of their soul, spirit, and body.

The banquet hall I saw is the marriage supper of the lamb. (He brought me to the banqueting hall and his banner over me was love – Song of Solomon 2 vs 4)

I pray that we shall all hate and overcome sin, and be ushered into the marriage supper of the lamb at the last day, in Jesus name.

Acts 9 vs 36 – Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did.

  1. She as a disciple of Christ.
  2. She was a good woman.
  3. She was full of good works
  4. No evil was found with her
  5. She was not associated with wickedness
  6. She was also consumed with charity
  7. She was loved by the saints
  8. Always giving alms.
  9. She was a professional giver.
  10. She was a friend of widows
  11. She loved widows and cared for them.
  12. She gave clothes for the needy.
  13. People spoke good of her
  14. She was sick and died, and all the disciples and widows gathered weeping
  15. When she died, people refused to bury her but sent for sent for Apostle Peter to come and pray for her resurrection from dead
  16. Peter prayed from her and she came back to life
  17. Her death was reversed because people loved her good works, and got Peter to pray for her and resurrect her from the death.
  18. Heavens rejected her soul and sent it back to earth because of her good works
  19. If you walk with God, no power can force you to die prematurely
  20. Her life was a testimony that won souls for Christ, as many gave their lives as a result of her resurrection from the death.

Holy spirit, help me to be the Dorcas of my community in Jesus name.

Posted on Updated on

John 11 vs. 25 – Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

  1. Jesus is the only person that have conquered death. He died and rose again.
  2. Logically, if Jesus was able to conquered death, he is also able to conquer any material thing that has died in your life.

Bible scriptures of resurrection of the death

Posted on Updated on

Job 19:25-27;

God’s Word teaches: That the Resurrection of the dead is taught in the Bible as clearly as the immortality of the soul. Every individual who has ever lived will be resurrected, some to honour and glory and others to everlasting shame and contempt –  Psalm 71:20; Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2; John 5:28,29; I Corinthians 15:12-57; I Thessalonians 4:13-16; Hebrews 6:1,2; Philippians 3:8-11; Revelation 20:4,6,12,13.

The resurrection of the dead is a cardinal and an important doctrine of the Bible. As a fact, all who die in this world will undergo physical resurrection before the Great White Throne Judgment. This doctrine shows that there will be a resurrection of the body, joined with the soul to meet the LORD either in peace and joy, or meet Him as a judge in condemnation, eternal punishment and torment of hell fire.

Jesus, the Prophet come from God, declared in John 5:25, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.” The fact of the resurrection of the just and unjust rings through the teaching of Jesus Christ (John 6:40; 11:25; Matthew 16:21; 22:23-31). Job spoke of his eyes and flesh seeing God after worms have destroyed his body (Job 19:25-27). Read the rest of this entry »
