By Overcomer Babalobi

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Matthew 28:19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

  1. Repentance of sinners brings joy and happiness to God and his angels.
  2. There are angels of God whose business is to watch over the activities and take record of men.
  3. God keeps record of every activities that every man takes on earth.
  4. Every soul is important to God.
  5. The prayers of any sinner would not be accepted until he or she repents.
  6. The secrets to making God happy is by getting God and his angels attention through Evangelism.
  7. The secrets to business, financial, health and spiritual breakthrough is through soul winning because this is what touches the heart of God.
  8. As we have prayer requests to God, He also has a prayer request for men.
  9. God’s prayer request is soul winning
  10. We are the only people who has the power to grant the prayer request of God Almighty.
  11. Be a soul winner today!

Ezekiel outlines divine instruction for anyone called to be minister

Don’t be lazy, indolent or waster. Stand upon your feet ( vs. 1) – And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.

Preach the gospel whether people listen to you or ignore you ( vs. 5)And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

Be bold in the Lord. Don’t fear the enemy (vs. 6) – And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Don’t abandon the work of God ( vs. 8) – But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee

Don’t be silent, open thy mouth and preach the word (vs.8)But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give theeImage result for Ezekiel 2: Guidelines for church workers

Submit to God and obey His will (vs. 7)And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

Luke 15: benefits of evangelism, why evangelism is important

Luke 15 vs. 7, 10I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. 10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

There is joy in heaven over one new convert in Sunday service more, than 99 saved members who came for service.Image result for Luke 15 vs. 7, 10 - 7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. 10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
  2. There is joy in heaven over a Christian that won a soul to Christ than a big church congregation that has not converted a single sinner to Christ.
  3. There is joy in the presence of God over one sinner that gave his life to Christ than 99 saved church members who came for Sunday service.
  4. There is joy in the presence of God over a street evangelism that led to conversion of sinners, rather than a big church service that did not lead to a conversion of anyone.

Sermon on Luke 14: Compel them to come!

Posted on

Luke 14 vs. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

Jesus instructed his followers to compel people to come to the House of God. How could you achieve this?Image result for evangelism

  1. You must know you are a servant of God
  2. You must be willing to serve God.
  3. You must develop or prepare a strategy or plan to serve God
  4. You must ‘Go out’ to serve God
  5. You cannot serve God in the comfort of your bedroom ‘Go out’ to the streets, ‘Go out’ to office, ‘Go out’ to the burdened, ‘Go out’ to the unbelievers, ‘Go out’ to the unsaved.
  6. ‘Go out’ means doing the work of a Missionary or Evangelist
  7. ‘Go out’ means leaving your church for mission fields.
  8. There is no resident evangelist or missionary. Evangelists and Missionaries are always on the field.
  9. Nowadays, we are contended in preaching to saved souls. We focus only on Churches on Sundays and during week service
  10. ‘Go to the highways’. Highways are places you find a crowd and human traffic. Go to markets, public spots, football fields, schools, take over the internet, facebook, twitter, Instagram etc. for Christ
  11. Go to the hedges. These are places that are remote, inaccessible, and difficult to reach. The Hedges are urban slums, coastal areas, mountainous areas, deserts, and Island, villages, Iceland etc.
  12. Compel them to come with spiritual and material gifts
  13. Compel them to come by offering them a ride, give them a meal pack, follow them up, remind them through phone calls or text messages. Visit them, intercede and pray for them
  14. Compel them to come. Pressurize them to come to God’s house!

New month prayer: Holy Spirit, give me souls this month!

New month sermon: How to win a soul for the kingdom of God

1 Corinthians 10 vs 3

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 dFor the weapons eof our warfare are not 1carnal but fmighty in God gfor pulling down strongholds, 5 hcasting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

  1. This is really a scripture for soul winning rather than for deliverance.
  2. Several issues are clear from this scripture.
  3. You may not be able to win a soul simply be evangelizing.
  4. There are strong holds that have held unbelievers captive and you need to pull them down in the spirit before you can win the captives for Christ
  5. You can not win a soul through debate and arguments on the scriptures. If for instance someone asks you: How are you sure there is heaven, have you been to heaven before? I am sure you may not be able to give a convincing respond.
  6. You cannot win a soul by trying to debunk philosophies and theories against the Bible.
  7. The most effective way of soul winning is intercessory prayer and fasting to cast down strongholds that have held believers captive.
  8. You need to engage in warfare in the spirit to set unbelievers free physically and spiritually

Mark 16: Soul winning, commandment of Jesus

Posted on

Mark 16 vs. 15- He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

  1. The last wish of Jesus before He left the world is that his disciples should embark on soul winning.
  2. It is often said that the last wish of a man must be respected.
  3. Are you respecting the last request of Jesus?
  4. The prayer request of Jesus is for you to evangelize. Instead of answering this simple prayer request, we bombard Jesus with our prayer requests daily NOT knowing Jesus may not answer our request unless we answer his own request.

Service to God: How should I serve God? How do we serve the Lord?

Posted on

Exodus 23 vs 25: And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy read and thy water, and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee

Job 36 vs 11: If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasurerewardsofevangelism

  1. Service to God is key to prosperity and good health.
  2. Service to the Lord goes beyond be a church goer, it means being a labourer for the Lord.
  3. Every labour you do for the Lord should end up directly or indirectly in winning souls.
  4. Many people are wondering why they are ‘serving’ the Lord through various activities, but are not receiving spiritual rewards. In some cases, people are really serving church leaders through hypocrisy to be rewarded with church positions. No thanks to the doctrines of many churches that have really replaced church service to Gods service. The contemporary church seems to be more interested in a crowd rather than winning heaven bound souls.
  5. Any church activity that you engage in that does not result directly or indirectly in soul winning is a waste of time, energy, and fruitless. It is anti-scriptural, anti-Christ, and is not a service to the Lord.
  6. If you want to experience the promises of Exodus 23 vs 25; and Job 36 vs 11 ensure you embark on aggressive soul winning in and/or outside the church.

Essence of Christianity: What does it mean to follow Jesus?

Posted on

soul winning evangelism

Mark 1 vs 17: “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

  1. The essence of Christianity is to primarily do the work of the Evangelist, every other thing becomes secondary.
  2. If you make yourself a follower of Christ, you should therefore be willing to trained by the Holy Spirit to bring others into following Christ.
  3. Following Jesus, without fishing for men is not an option, an act of disobedience, and may infact be a sin.
  4. Decide today not only to follow Jesus, but also to fish for men and women

I receive the grace to fish for the kingdom in Jesus name

Sermon and Prayers: How to become a rich man overnight

Posted on Updated on

John 21 vs. 3 – 6Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

1.     Peter and his friends labored all night looking for fish, but they caught nothing.

2.     Jesus stepped in, and on his instruction Peter and his friends threw the net into the sea again, and they caught a multitude of fishes, too much for them to pack.

3.     If Jesus steps into your business, you can become rich overnight.

4.     However, you must also first step into the Lord’s business of soul winning before Jesus can step into your business.

5.     Do the work of an evangelist today, and you will become rich overnight with souls of men and even financial prosperity.

Bible sermon: Why Christians are poor

Posted on Updated on

John 21 vs. 3  Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

1.     There are some general causes of poverty such as poor education, low skills, natural disasters, poor political governance, laziness, and in some cases geographical location.

2.     But they are also spiritual causes of prosperity, and Christians no matter where they are on the face of the earth are supposed to be shining examples of divine prosperity. However. The reverse is the often the case. Christians may be poor because of the following reasons:

·       They have abandoned the work of God for the work of flesh, chasing after things of the world rather than things of the flesh.

·       Like Peter, they have abandoned soul winning and evangelism. Fishing for money rather than fishing for souls first.

·       They put their personal business first, the God second or last.

·       They have forgotten that God is He that gives power to make wealth, not by power not might.

Prayer

·       Holy Spirit deliver me from profitless hard work in Jesus name

·       I receive the spirit of an evangelist in Jesus name

And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

Hymn of the day

  • All to Jesus I surrender,
    All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
    In His presence daily live.

    • I surrender all,
      I surrender all.
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
      I surrender all.
    • All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow,
      Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

Section B: Bible study (12.20am-12.40am)

Psalm 46

Matthew 19:29

29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life. NKJV

Do you wish to make heaven happy? Do you want to create a joyous scene in the presence of God? Do you want angels to back slap in celebration? Then do the work of an evangelist, for the Bible says there is much angelic joy in the presence of God for every soul that is won to the kingdom of God.

If Evangelism makes heaven rejoice, then it must have its own rewards.

It is only by faith that a Christian can successfully do the work of Evangelism expecting a reward. If you are sure of your calling, and have a passion for Christ, then no problems will hinder you from working as an Evangelist thus the Bible said

“ But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” NKJV

Hebrews 11:6

Aim for the highest in Heaven and work for it today. Go soul crazy! That is one level of madness that will positively affect your eternal life.

The key points to note is that an evangelist must have a heart for Christ, a passion for soul winning, diligent and hardworking believing that God his employer is taking record of his daily activity and this will form the basis of his reward.

 Section C: (12.40am-1am)

Prayers

  • God, let the light and joy of Christ shine through my life as a testimony of my Christian faith in Jesus name.

  • Lord, make yourself known through me in Jesus name.

  • Lord may I never found wanting in your heavenly kingdom in Jesus name

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a sorrow we share,

But our toil He doth richly repay;

Not a grief or a loss,

Not a frown or a cross,

But is blest if we trust and obey.

But we never can prove

The delights of His love

Until all on the altar we lay;

The earth is filled with His glory
Holy is the Lord God Almighty
The earth is filled with His glory
The earth is filled with His glory

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He

And together we sing
Everyone sing

Psalm 42

Mark 16:14-18

Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.  16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.  17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

NKJV

Soul winning is not done inside the church; it done where people are. The cross of the Lord Jesus Christ should be raised again at the centre of the market places, offices, schools and everywhere. Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles but on the cross between two thieves. Read the rest of this entry »

Evangelism: Are you still a christian?

“I try to find common ground with him so that he will let me tell him about Christ.” 1 CORINTHIANS 9:22 TLB

There are basically five reasons why we don’t share our faith more often, and not one of them will hold up when we stand before Christ: Read the rest of this entry »

Essence of evangelism

Memorize: “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the Harvest,

that he will send forth labourer into his harvest (Math 9:38)

Read: Mathew 9:37-38

There is no harvest without a harvester. In today’s reading, the Christian work is compared to the harvest of wheat.

One thing the Lord makes clear is that the harvest far exceeds the harvester. We need more harvesters if we clear are bringing in a reasonable harvest. But why is it that the harvesters are in short supply?

Why are there far too few workers and minister compared with the enormous work of the minister? First many potential harvesters are yet to be a part of the harvest. The Saul’s that should become Paul’s and turn our communities, regions nations and the entire world upside down for Christ are yet to be converted.

The potential financial and spiritual pillars that God would use to establish your parish could yet be among the unsaved and reached peoples of your area.

The husbands or wives of some brethren who are trusting God for spouses are yet unsaved. A lot depend on us to intensify our intercessory prayer and evangelistic outreaches to unbelievers around us so that they can fulfill God’s plan for their lives.

Every church that refuses to pray or evangelize will face serious limitations. Until the church takes up the challenges of prayer and practices evangelism and follow up they cannot fulfill God’s plan.

Another reason the harvest is greater than the harvesters is that most harvesters are under-harvesting. Are you born again? How many soul have you won to the Lord since you were born again?

How man souls have you won to Him this year? We have continued to allow opportunities too lead souls to Christ to slip through our fingers. A number of these souls are daily heading for hell. You must change.

Similarly, many harvest have abandoned harvesting for mundane tasks only. Some harvesters are employing wrong or inappropriate tools for the work. Poor management of harvest by their leaders is seriously affecting the work.  This is causing high labour turnover in churches today. How are you managing the human resources God has put under you?

Is your attitude encouraging or discouraging them? There is a time element in harvesting. A ripe harvest not taken at the right time could become overripe and be lost to the birds of the air. Can God count you as part of his harvesters? Do not fail Him.

Sermon: rewards of evangelism

Read Matthew 5:13-16

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salts have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men”. (Matthew 5:13).

Believes are compared to salt. Salt has multiple uses, some of which have not been explore. In this sense, salt is seen as something of great value. From this scripture, we learn that what has great value can suddenly become good for nothing. I mean nothing! A man’s soul is worth more than all the treasures of the earth put together, yet by indulging in sexual sin, all that value is lost. That individual becomes good for nothing (Prov. 6:26).

If you appreciate the value Heaven place on you, do everything possible not to lose it. The most used of God can suddenly become the one God cannot use. Retain your value with all your life! Another lesson here is that loss of worth equals loss of placement. Your Heavenly placement or rating is a function of Heaven’s assessment of your worth.

Each time you come up with a new idea for God’s Kingdom, you increase your worth. How often do you increase your worth? When you lose your worth as salt of the earth, you will end up under the shoes of those you were supposed to positively affect. But as long as you maintain your worth, and season, sweeten, preserve, sanitize and clean lives, men will always look up to you. You will remain above them!

Another lesson here is that it takes earthly relevance to secure Heavenly approval. You were created to affect the earth. You were saved to positively impart lives. Some people are so ‘holy’ that they were of earthly good. The call to holiness does not mean you should live like a hermit – secluded from every one else as some Christian believe.

God does not expect you to conform to the world’s way of doing things but to establish his standard through your life-style. Your value in Heaven will be determined by how many souls you won into the God’s Kingdom, the number of hopeless people the Lord used you to restore hope to, and how many sorrowful people you  made to smile through your ministry. If your ministry cannot positively affect lives, it is of value: good for nothing!

Ye are the salt of the earth: but is the salts have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot men” (Matt5:13)

Rewards of Evangelism

Memorise: “But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared ” (Mark 10:40)

Read: 2 Cor 3:15-18

Pastor E. Adeboye

“But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared” (Mark 10:40).

Heaven is a place of wealth, fame, power, position and greatness. If you attain any of these in this glorious planet, you are forever made. Heaven is also a place of hierarchy. Lucifer was one of the top angels in Heaven. At a point he was not satisfied with his level. He wanted to go higher. He desired to be like God but followed the path of pride and rebellion, and completely lost out of this Kingdom.

Today, God is giving mortal men the opportunity Satan lost. You can actually desire to be like God and achieve it through His path. You are free to determine your position, glory, power and eternal rewards in Heaven. However you must be ready to meet with Heaven’s requirements.

Do you know that the reward for each soul won to the soul winner varies depending on the situation on ground? There are several countries where the laws of the land favour the Gospel. But there are countries where preaching Christ could land you in prison.

If you put your life on line to win a soul in anti-Christian communities and nations, you will get more value from the Lord than the fellow who won five souls from a nation that allows the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through this, God adequately compensates missionaries who live their home countries to distant parts of the earth – particularly Muslim, Buddhist and pagan strongholds and war ravaged nations.

Also, Heaven is a place of hierarchies and order. After the rewards -crowns and stars have been distributed according to individual’s works, several hierarchies would emerge: One crown no star, one crown one star, to one crown infinity stars are several levels. Then you have two crowns no star, two crowns one star to infinity. Up to seven crowns, no star; seven crowns one star to infinity.

Whatever level you fall, will determine the level of glory (God’s light) that will radiate through your body; the grade of mansion you will live in; the several other fringe benefits you will be given; the size of the Kingdom Jesus will appoint you to rule over during the 1000 years reign, and the dominion of your eternal reign with Christ. You can determine where you want to be. Aim for the highest in Heaven and work for it today. Go soul crazy! That is one level of madness that will positively affect your eternal rating.

Earthly governments, politicans, and ‘king makers’ may deny you access into positions of natioanal  leadership; But Heaven’s eternal leadership positions are open for you to occupy by merit.

 ANY UNCONQUERED GROUND?

Memorise: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain” (2 Cor 6:1)

Read: Joshua 13:1-7

 Pastor E. Adeboye

Faithfulness is not only recognizing your calling and abiding in it, and providing the highest returns to the Master, but also doing the assignment using the resources provided. 1 Corinthians 9:7 says it is the one who sends a soldier to the battle field that is responsible for kiting him.

Do you know that God has provided all you require for success in that particular assignment? Many pastors will be shocked when they get to Heaven to find a heap of unutilized resources and blessings meant for their churches and parishioners, which failed to reach them because they failed to ask.

If God sends you on an assignment but the resources appear unavailable, return to ask Him to show you where they are. We do that with our earthly bosses, but grumble, complain and abandon the work when it comes to Kingdom business. This attitude makes you unfaithful.

James 4:2 says you have not because you ask not. If you say you have asked but have not received, it is because you have not asked to the point of receiving. Hence, Matthew 7:7 says asking should be a continuous exercise until reception takes place.

“We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain” (2 Cor 6:1). There is provision for every heavenly assignment. God expects you to use the resources provided for the task given.

Whatever you fail to use or divert to a wrong use, becomes a wasted effort. If God has anointed you, He expects some results from the anointing. If you do not apply the anointing in your message, evangelism, singing, praying and ministry in general, it defeats the purpose. This makes the fellow unfaithful. He may not have a renewal of that heavenly resource. Are you using your resources faithfully?

Another component of faithfulness is found in 2 Timothy 4:7. It says: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”. Faithfulness is starting and completing the heavenly assignment within Heaven’s set time. When Joshua was old, God told him he had several unconquered grounds thereby falling below Heaven’s expectations. That affected his faithfulness.

Some are good starters but bad finishers. Many start but do not complete what was started. You must conclude your assignment according to Heaven’s specification and timing if you will be rated faithful. Heaven assesses your attempts.

At the end of Paul’s time on earth, he assessed his performance and said he fought a good fight. You can say when you make a poor, fair, or very good attempt in an exam. How are your attempts? Can Satan say you gave him a good fight? Will your race end in Heaven or on earth?
Ask God for grace to finish the race to Heaven. Pray for spiritual revival in this nation.

Obedience

Matthew 4 vs 19

Understand this: Jesus doesn’t invite us to follow Him because we believe in Him. He invites us to follow Him because He believes in us! He says: ‘Follow me and I will make you. ‘He knows what we can become when His grace touches our lives

So, come as you are. Come with your self righteous or sordid past. Come with your halo or your hang-ups. Come, even though you wonder if He can do what He promises. Let his power and presence rub off on you. What do you have to lose? You’ve tried your way and it didn’t work, now try His way. Come. You won’t be disappointed!

Memorise: “And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7)

Read: 2 Samuel 6:9-12

 Pastor E. Adeboye

Your cup of cold water can affect lives of others as well as that of the giver. In Joshua 2:1-21, Rahab was hospitable to two Israeli spies and that led to the salvation of herself and her entire household. The one you save today could become your saviour tomorrow. At a time the Israeli nation was in dread and did not know what to do with the newly recovered Ark of the covenant, one man came to their rescue.

King David who had seen judgement fall on Uzzah who tried to hold back the Ark from falling immediately jumped at the offer. He needed another guinea pig who might lose his life, but he cannot be that person. The Ark stayed in the house of Obededom for three months. By the time king David sent to inquire whether Obededom was still alive, he was told that God so blessed him that he became the envy of all around him. Even till today, his story is still making rounds just because he gave out a cup of cold water!

Like king David, some people are afraid to take the first step or spear head a particular project. The cup of cold water in this regard is for you to prayerfully take the step. In 1 Kings 17:8-16, the widow of Zarephath fed a hungry prophet from her limited meal and God multiplied it. Her last meal became her first just because she cared for the man of God.

Later, when death came calling on her household, they were spared. It pays to serve true servants of God. In 2 Kings 4:8-17, the Shunammite woman opened her house to a man of God and she got what her money could not buy. From now on, as you give out that cup of cold water, you will never lack any good thing in Jesus’ Name.

Sometime ago, while discussing with my Daddy, He asked me to tell Him the greatest loser since the world began. I said Adam because he messed up and was driven out of the Garden of Eden. Daddy said Adam was a loser but not the greatest loser. Then I said it must be Cain because he was the first born and was supposed to inherit all things yet he lost all. After Cain was knocked out, I kept mentioning others. Unable to get the answer, I asked the Lord to tell me who the greatest loser was.

He said it was the Inn Keeper on the day Jesus was born. The Saviour of the world, the Creator of Heaven and earth was to be born in his room but he said ‘No room’. He stood to gain in every way. His name would have been written in gold but he said ‘No room’. Every time God gives you an opportunity to serve Him it is because He wants to reward you with something that lasts forever. Anytime you turn down requests to support the Kingdom, you are saying ‘No room’. Is there any room in your life for Jesus?

If there is no room for Jesus, create one for Him in every area of your life.

Evangelism by Holy Spirit and fire

Posted on Updated on

Memorise: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63)

Read: Jeremiah 20:7-11

Pastor E. Adeboye

“Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak anymore in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay” (Jeremiah 20:9).

One symbol through which God manifests His presence is fire. Any believer who embarks on the Christian race without fire is taking a great risk. John 6:63 says until the Holy Spirit indwells you through God’s Words, you will not be quickened.

Dead woods never give glory to God. Believers who are cold, lukewarm, indifferent, and compromising are dead woods that never glorify God. It takes a living, fiery Christian to put his enemies to flight, please God and accomplish destiny. If you are on fire for God, it shows spiritually and physically.

Spiritually, the enemies will see it and run from you. They would be afraid to come near so that they are not consumed. Physically, it will manifest as the glory of God on your face. Besides, it will keep pushing you on the path of righteousness.

Have you ever felt bored or discouraged to the point of resolving not to preach or to take part in certain activities? Jeremiah felt the same. He resolved never to even mention God’s name again. But the Word of God in his heart as fire burned to the point that he could no longer sustain his anti-God posture.

If you are no longer doing what you used to do for God, and you feel comfortable, it is an evidence of absence of God’s fire. If you do not feel any prick when you contact a sinner and let such an individual go, it shows you do not have fire anymore.

When divine fire is in you, it makes your life sweet. Leviticus 1:17 talks of a burnt sacrifice. There is a difference between a sacrifice without fire and one with fire. The former has no smell, but the latter produces an aroma that makes those around to notice it. It is when the fire of God comes on your life on God’s altar that it produces a sweet smell. Several believers either stink or are odorless.

As long as you do not allow God’s fire to burn negative traits and habits hindering the release of your sweet aroma, nobody will know you. Even your sacrifice will not be noticed. Ask God to send His fire upon you to burn every dross, lukewarmness, prayerlessness, and secret sins from your life so that your life can release a sweet smelling aroma that Heaven cannot ignore.

Ask God to create new doors for the gospel to penetrate the middle East and raise modern -day Elijahs in those countries.

PERSONALITY OF HEAVEN
Memorise: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14)
Read: John 1:1-14

Heaven is not only a place in a particular location, but also a person. What makes a palace a palace is not the building, but the king who resides there. A palace without a king is an ordinary house. There is a particular town where when the king dies, they do not replace him.

Today, it has become a ghost town. There is nothing special about a throne until a king sits on it. What makes Heaven Heaven is the One who dwells there. According to Psalm 24:7-10, Heaven was created by the King of glory, the LORD of hosts who has never lost any battle. He is the One who sits on the throne. One of my sons once said, If he gets to Heaven and hears that Jesus has relocated, he will relocate to where Jesus is.

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” (John 1:14). Who made Heaven what it is? It is the Word that was made flesh. Colossians 2:9 says the fullness of the Godhead physically resides in Jesus. When Jesus came to earth, Heaven came to earth, hence the angels celebrated His birth. Anyone who seeks Heaven must seek Jesus.

In John 3:1-8, Nicodemus sought Heaven and he went to see Jesus. Similarly, while Zaccheaus-a strong, wealthy man sought Heaven, something told him, If you want to see Heaven, see Jesus. So he climbed a tree to see Jesus. Heaven is full of goodness. Psalm 34:10 says, “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing”.

One reason believers are in want today is because they are not seeking Jesus. Some want Heaven, but their faces are turned to earth. The earth cannot produce heavenly results on its own. It takes Heaven to come to earth for earth to receive heavenly results.

If your desires and requests are not granted, examine your focus: you are seeking the wrong thing. You are pursuing earthly things. You can completely eradicate lack in your life, family and ministry by seeking Heaven – Jesus. Heaven came to earth and heavenly joys began to displace earthly sorrows.

Anywhere Jesus went, multitudes thronged about Him because they knew they would experience positive outcomes. You are now the light of the world. Your presence as a heavenly light should displace earthly darkness and sorrow.

How is your presence effectively achieving this? If your spiritual cover cannot effectively protect your family, loved ones and parishioners, your claim to being a child of God is questionable.

An encounter with Jesus is an encounter with Heaven. Ask that Muslims all over the world will encounter the Person of Heaven this year.

ATTITUDE TO CHANGE
Memorise: “Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called” (1 Cor 7:20)
Read: 1 Corinthians 7:17-24

o
Pastor E. Adeboye, RCCG

“Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called” (1 Cor 7:20).

One thing most human beings do not want, but which they may need in certain situations is change. People are very slow to accept and adapt to new ways of doing things, or new leadership. This attitude is equally common in the church.

The Early church was commanded to take the Gospel to different parts of the world. But because they did not want change, they remained in Jerusalem until God stirred up persecution against them. Every child of God must welcome change. Sometimes as a worker, you could be posted from one department to another, or from one parish to another. Whenever this happens, know that the change is for your good. Some workers resist inter-departmental movements because they feel they are removed from their area of calling.
In reality, what partly determines where you are sent is where vacancies exist.

If you are called to be a teacher but the church has need of evangelists, your pastor may assign you to Evangelism department. You should humbly go there because God wants you to serve Him in that department. When your pastor assigns you to a department but you fail to go, know that you are in disobedience.

From that moment, you are on your own, working for yourself. That also means that you are the one to reward yourself. God has a purpose for taking you through different departments. He may want you to learn what is done in the various departments so as to prepare you for something bigger. Some of the most proficient pastors today went through various departments as workers.

When the Lord arrested Saul on his way to Damascus in Acts 9:6, he asked Him, ‘What do you want me to do?’ That is the reply God expects from us. What is important at the end of the day is not what we want to do, but what He wants us to do. Some workers have transferred themselves from their original assignment for personal reasons, without the approval of the One who sent them. This is dangerous. It is transfer out of relevance.

Heaven does not recognize where such believers are. As God said to Adam, ‘Where are you?’ The Lord is calling, ‘My son, my daughter, where are you?’ Restitute your ways today. Return to your department, or parish. The blessings of God will only meet you where God located you. Your packages from Heaven will locate you only at the address God placed you.

List 10 reasons you do not want a change. Also list 10 possible reasons God may want that change. Compare both but yield to His will
