Posted on Updated on

By Overcomer Babalobi

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Matthew 28:19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

  1. Repentance of sinners brings joy and happiness to God and his angels.
  2. There are angels of God whose business is to watch over the activities and take record of men.
  3. God keeps record of every activities that every man takes on earth.
  4. Every soul is important to God.
  5. The prayers of any sinner would not be accepted until he or she repents.
  6. The secrets to making God happy is by getting God and his angels attention through Evangelism.
  7. The secrets to business, financial, health and spiritual breakthrough is through soul winning because this is what touches the heart of God.
  8. As we have prayer requests to God, He also has a prayer request for men.
  9. God’s prayer request is soul winning
  10. We are the only people who has the power to grant the prayer request of God Almighty.
  11. Be a soul winner today!

Memorise: “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven” (Matt 18:18)

Read: 2 Chronicles 7:11-14

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word” (1 Kings 17:1). Heaven has windows which can be open or shut. If shut, there will be no rain. Rivers will begin to dry up and this will lead to famine and death. One way God judges is by shutting the windows of Heaven over the offender. In Amos 4:6- 9, God says He can open Heavenly windows for some and shut it over some. That means, while some are crying that things are too hard, others are feasting, celebrating and saying things could never be better. This year, the Lord will open the heavenly windows over you, your family, business, ministry, etc.Open Heavens Adeboye

Tithing is one medium of opening the heavenly windows (Mal 3:10). God’s anointed prophet can also open or close heavenly windows. This is one reason you must carefully relate with a genuine man of God.

Just one pronouncement is all Heaven is awaiting before deciding whether to open or shut the windows over the person, city or nation in question. Elijah used his delegated spiritual authority to shut heavenly windows over his land (1 Kings 17:1). While several people were dying of hunger, the widow of Zarephath was becoming fatter. This year, as people complain of hunger and lack, you will be celebrating abundance in Jesus’ Name.

Ultimately, God, the Owner of Heaven has the key of David to open or shut the Heavenly windows (Rev 3:7 ). Elijah exercised his authority and put the nation into famine just to get them to repent.

Do you know that as long as you remain in right standing with God, and please Him in all you do, you can shut the Heavenly windows temporarily over individuals, loved ones, cities and even nations just to compel them to accept the Lord Jesus Christ? This is one key believers have but many have not been using. It is high time some loved ones were compelled into the Kingdom of God by the application of the key of David. Take this step today and prayerfully follow it up. And the Kingdom of God shall be enlarged.

Let the windows of Heaven be shut over all my unsaved loved ones till they humbly turn their lives to Christ.

Sermon: Should Christians celebrate Halloween?

Posted on

(Evangelist Godwin deeperlife2003@yahoo.com)

Halloween, a festival that is commonly celebrated on October 31st in the United States, is associated with paganism, witchcraft and Romanism and yet most professing Christians are found participating in related activities. Some churches will even cancel services when Halloween falls on Sunday, so that their members may be free to celebrate (http://www.baptistpillar.com/bd0222.htm).

I once asked someone what he thought about Halloween and his answer was quite straight forward, intriguing, and meaningful. He said most people that participate in Halloween dressed like monsters and that makes them looked like monsters. Out of curiosity, I checked out the real lexicon meaning of the word “monster.” It means a person that is exceptionally evil. Therefore, it would be a fatal shame to see any professing Christian participate directly or indirectly in this evil celebration of Halloween.

A common proverb says, “It is ignorant that makes the rat to call the cat into a fight.” The Bible says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Can’t common sense appeal to the spirit of God in us that God despises anything that glories darkness and evil? Can a supposed Christian pay obeisance to God and the devil at the same time? Can we invite Jesus Christ and the devil into our houses at the same time? Impossible! You must make a decision right now. You can’t participate in Halloween and Easter at the same time. The former is related to darkness and the worship of Satan, while the later is related to light signifying the death, burial and the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Some churches have device a means by participating in Halloween indirectly by simply distributing candies to children on the same day of Halloween event, calling it “Candy Hunt.” What difference does it make? It is also called “Halloween Candy Hunt” in the world.

Embarking on Halloween celebration (directly or indirectly) would open up the door for all kinds of strange events in our lives, homes, and churches. More than likely many Christians are being tormented as a result of their direct or indirect involvement in the celebration of Halloween. Thank God it is not too late to make a complete U-turn.

You can unilaterally decide to dissociate from this evil practice today. Such a decision might make you unpopular. It might spark the wrath of others against you. What does it matter? I rather be a radical Christian and make it to heaven than to be a passive and permissive Christian and end up in the bottomless pit of hell. Break up the fallow ground and disengage from the practice of Halloween. Light and darkness can never walk together. Are you on the Lord’s side?

Breakthrough prayers: God I need godly money

John 9 vs. 1-9 – And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.  As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged? Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.

M – Many shall die because of money

O – On me shall every body depend

N – None shall live without me

E – Engage me with all evils

Y – Yes I am the root of all evils

Christians worship Jesus

Posted on Updated on

Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber” John 10:1

Various religions in the world acknowledge the fact that there is a sovereign God, but only Christianity acknowledges the sonship, messiahship, and Lordship of Jesus Christ.

One common error among most people is to group together all religions that believe in the existence of a Sovereign God regardless of whether or not they believe in the name of Jesus Christ.

It is common to hear people say there is no difference between Islam and Christianity because both religions believe in a Sovereign God-Allah for the former and Jehovah for the latter.

It is also common for people to practice two religions together at the same time. For instance you find a Christian also practicing some form of traditional religions. It must be clearly understood that all this belief and practice is a spirit of error. Read the rest of this entry »

<p align=”center”>Memorise: “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God” (Psalm 90:2)

Read: 2 Kings 6:8-14

When we consider the actions of the king of Syria in his bid to capture Elisha, we learn certain useful tips for engaging in spiritual warfare. First, have an ultimate and clearly defined goal. A goal is a destination towards which all resources are directed. If you have no goal, you have no destination. This is true in all spheres of life, hence you must set a goal for yourself in every area of life.

<pGoallessness turns one into a vagabond and a fugitive that keeps going round in circles. If that defines your situation, the Lord will bring order and direction into your life in Jesus name. From today, you will move forward. The goal of the king of Syria was to make Israel part of his kingdom and he pursued it. My goal is to make it to Heaven taking many with me. What is your goal in life?

Two, the Syrian king realized there was no need of going to war with Israel when he could get their king. In other words, after setting your goal, device your strategy of getting there. Wisdom is more appropriate than strength.

<pThree, if you find yourself failing time and again, seek counsel on what could be responsible. Ask ‘Why”. The forth lesson is that the friend of your enemy is also your enemy. Some people want to make friend with their pastor but hate his wife. It is not possible. Anyone who hates your wife hates you, no matter how much show of love the fellow demonstrates. The king of Israel was the enemy of the king of Syria. Anyone who be-friends your enemy is your adversary. Hence, James 4:4 says if you are a friend of the world, you are an enemy of God.

The fifth lesson is that you must properly identify your problem before asking it to move. Before you ask God to arise and scatter His enemies make sure you are not one of them. Ensure you are not the one blocking your way.

<pSimilarly, never lose hope, no matter the size of the mountain confronting you. Your mountain will move as long as you retain your hope in God, because He knows the foundation of every mountain, and can easily uproot them. That mountain in your life will move this season in Jesus’s Name. Lastly, whenever you engage in spiritual warfare, ensure you are not fighting God, because that is a fight you can never win. But if He is on your side, victory is sure. Is God on your side?

Pray for two hours in the Spirit. Write down every impression the Holy Spirit lays on your heart while doing so.

Bible lessons on tithes and offerings

Memorise: “But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee ” (Ezekiel 2:8)

Read: Acts 16:25-28

One vital lesson from Peter’s encounter with the Lord at the Lake of Gennesaret, is that the Word that will usher you into your breakthrough is earned. It does not just come. God keeps it to His heart until you have done something to provoke it.

<p Luke 5:4 says, “Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught”. Why did Jesus not say this to Peter when they first met? Why did He wait until after He was through with the preaching? It was simply because Peter had a price to pay! He needed to suspend his personal plans and aspirations, and focus on the desire of Heaven. He needed to loan the Lord his boat and move it for Him. He needed to wait patiently on Him until the Lord was satisfied. He was not promised any reward at the time of request. He needed to do some volunteer work for the Lord. Peter paid the price. He earned the Word from Jesus.

One particular year, I made a call for volunteers to come and work for a period at the camp. I did not promise any form of payment. There was a brother who had been battling with joblessness. Several years after his first degree, he remained jobless. He saw this invitation as the medium to trigger his breakthrough and jumped at it. Not long after the assignment was over, he landed a job in a bank. He has been on the rise since then. He is now married, has his own house and has changed cars. He paid the price!

Many believers are waiting for the Word that will change their lives forever. They are waiting and full of expectations, but they have done nothing about it. Such people may wait much longer. The only way Heaven recognizes that you need its touch, is by doing something. There is a way you will praise and worship God that will provoke your Word of deliverance, like Paul and Silas.

<pThere is a way you will demonstrate your love and commitment to Christ that He will have no choice but to give you the Word you need. There is an offering you will give that will rewrite your history. There is an extent you will obey the Master and provoke your blessing. Have you paid the price? If you have not paid the price, it is not because you cannot pay it, but because you refuse to. As long as you refuse to do what you ought to do, Heaven will keep back what it should release to you. Stop waiting in vain. Provoke your blessing today!

There are two sets of waiting believers in the Body of Christ; Those whose waiting will produce a mirage – no substance, and those whose waiting will produce a definite result. Where do you belong?

Memorise: “His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it” (John 2:5)

Read: John 2:1-5

“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught” (Luke 5:4).

God leads His children in definite ways. He loves to speak plainly with His own. But when He speaks in coded form using signs and symbols, it is important the recipient of such a message returns to ask for the meaning, or else the fellow defeats the purpose of such communication. John 10:3 says, “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out”.

<pHow do you hear from God? Plainly or in dark speeches? May He speak clearly to you from now in Jesus’ Name.

The Word that God sends to meet your need is all embracing. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions”. This is the purpose of God’s Word in your life. The Word that Peter received at the lake of Gennesaret was all embracing. Many believers are in need of one Word and their lives will never be the same again. The Word that will change your life and impact on your destiny for good will reach you today.

The Word Peter received contained several things. It provided information on what to do- He was asked to launch out. Are you in need of what step to take, which career to pursue or what to do concerning that pressing issue? The Lord will give you the right word today. It also told him where to do it. He was expected to launch out right where he was. If you know what to do but fail to know the right location to do it, the desired result may not come.

<p The Word Peter received also indicated when to do what should be done. There is a right timing for every issue under Heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1). If you do the right thing in the right location but at a wrong time, the result will be futile. For Peter, the time was ‘Now’. For someone using this Devotional, the time for you to take that step of progress is now. The time to leave procrastination is now.

<pThe time for your salvation is now. The time to obey God in that pending area is now. The Word also informed Peter how to do it. He was to throw his nets into the deep. Peter was limited. He had only one net. His catch was limited. The Word equally told him the purpose of what he was doing – to take his harvest of fishes. Ask God for the Word that will solve your problems completely.

Ask God for the all-embracing Word that will put an end to sorrow in your life.

In very clear terms, the Lord defines the identity of a disciple and puts the challenges before him. It is no difficult to recognize the importance of salt and light in everyday human life. Without salt, there is

very little to recommend anything as food

Jesus said to Simon Peter in John 21:17 Feed my sheep

It was up too Peter to ensure that whatever he gives the rest of the church of Jesus Christ was reason with salt.

It is interesting to note that Jesus addressed this command to Peter. The Rock. In the African tradition of animal husbandry, a good husbandman will ensure that sheep have rocks with salt in them to lick after feeding on the pastures.

This is what maintains the sheep in good health. Sheep can find pasture on their own, but only few sheep finds rocks with salt to lick.

Again, the Lord stated that a disciple is light. And the light of the world. Whatever men see, they see because there is light. There is a lot of honour for light-bearers in the African tradition. But, what if a light-bearer does not light the way?

The challenges of Jesus Christ is that every disciple shine forth in this dark world so that every doubt is dispelled in the minds of men that there is a God in Heaven and a God big enough to be glorified

“You are the salt of the earth, but what good is salt if it has lost its flavour? Can you make it useful again? It will be thrown out and trample underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world-like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all to see”

Matthew 5:13-14
