Make this Christmas merry

John 3 vs. 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life –

Another Christmas, the greatest celebration in the world is here. How are you preparing to mark the Christmas? Are you planning to go on holidays or you are on holidays already?

Have you decorated your offices and homes with lightings and Christmas trees? Have you given gifts to friends and relations that have been of support to you throughout the year? Have you done the traditional Christmas shopping and have bought clothes for the kids

Christmas is a time of fun, entertainment, merry making, relaxation, and festivities.

No matter how you are planning to spend the Christmas, it is important to remember the reason for the celebration. Jesus Christ is the author of Christmas as the day is a remembrance of his birthday.

Your Christmas celebrations will not be complete and will in fact be meaningless if you do not know and discover the reason for the celebration. How would you feel if someone marks your birthday and forgets to wish you the celebrant a happy birthday?

Jesus is the celebrant and one important thing you must do this Christmas is to understand his ministry and accept his call for your salvation. Read the rest of this entry »

Luke 2 vs. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour is born which is Christ the Lord –

  1. When God created the earth as recounted in Genesis 1, man was sinless.

Christmas day sermon: Lessons from the birth of Jesus Christ

Christmas sermon: lessons from the Birth of Jesus Christ

Read Mathew 1 and 2; and Luke 1

  1. You shall be rewarded. There is a reward for chastity and purity. Mary would have lost her divine destiny if she indulged in premarital sex during courtship with Joseph. –Mathew 1 vs 18. As you hold on to sexual purity, you shall be rewarded in Jesus name.
  2. You shall be favoured. Mary was favoured. She could not have been the only Virgin in the land, but she was highly favoured among women. – Luke 1 vs 29. I pray you shall attract favour in Jesus name.
  3. You shall be singled out for blessing. Mary was singled out for blessing. God decided to bless Mary with a son of the Holy Ghost. – Luke 1 vs 29. I pray you shall be singled out for blessing among a multitude of men and women in Jesus name.
  4. You shall be promoted. Mary was a house girl, promoted to become ‘mother of God’. The Bible describes her as a handmaid. Luke 1 vs 47.  Yet she was magnified above all women. I pray God shall turn your weakness to strength in Jesus name
  5. You shall not be barren. Bareness is not from God. The Holy Spirit that caused a virgin woman to conceive and bore a son called Jesus, without sexual intercourse, would cause every woman that has a womb or without a womb to be a mother of children. – Mathew 1 vs 18.
  6. Your reproaches shall be rolled away. Jesus rolled away the reproach of Elisabeth. John was born six months earlier, as a forerunner of Jesus. John had to be born earlier because he had a part to play to fulfil Jesus’s ministry. Elisabeth who faced the reproach of bareness for many decades, gave birth to John who heralded the ministry of Jesus. Luke 1 vs 36. As you celebrate Jesus every reproach of bareness in your life shall be rolled away in Jesus name.
  7. Receive faith. Mary was a woman of faith. Mary believed the Angel of God. Luke 1 vs 38. I pray faithlessness shall not deny you a breakthrough in Jesus name.
  8. Your husband shall be a just man. Joseph was a just man. Joseph the ‘father’ of Jesus was described as a ‘just man’. May God give single ladies just men as husbands in Jesus name. – Mathew 1 vs 19
  9. Receive divine visitation and guidance. An Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph. The angel of the Lord shall appear to you today to give you direction and guidance in Jesus name– Mathew 1 vs 20.
  10. Jesus shall save you. His name means saviour. No matter the depth, degree, or nature of sin you have committed in the past, Jesus will save you when you call unto him. Mathew 1 vs 21
  11. God shall not fail you. God does not lie. Jesus’s birth was in fulfilment of prophecy by Prophet Isaiah 9 vs 6; and several other prophets. I prophesy that every good prophecy on you shall come to pass in Jesus name- Mathew 1 vs 22.
  12. God is with you. Jesus means God with us. Anytime you shout the name Jesus, know surely that you are bringing down the attention and presence of God to your situation – Mathew 1 vs 23.
  13. There is a reward for obedience. Adam disobeyed God. But Joseph obeyed God. Joseph would have lost his place in the divine salvation plan of God if he had not obeyed God and agreed to accept a pregnancy he is not responsible for. – Mathew 1 vs 24. Choose to obey God today.
  14. Wise men shall minister to you. Wise men came to look for Jesus. I pray that your destiny shall attract wise men in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 1.
  15. Your star shall shine. The Star of Jesus appeared brightly from the time of his birth and was seen from the East. I pray that you Star shall shine early in your life- Mathew 2 vs 2.
  16. God shall trouble your troublers. Herod was troubled at the birth of Jesus. God shall trouble your troublers in Jesus name. The powers that are sad because of your breakthroughs shall be silenced in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 3.
  17. Follow follow powers shall die. Wise men followed the Star of Jesus for good, but Herod monitored Jesus’s Star for evil. I pray powers following and monitoring your star for evil shall die suddenly like Herod in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 7.
  18. You shall move from poverty to prosperity. Jesus born in a manger, became wealthy from birth as He was presented with precious gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. I pray you Star shall attracted gifts that shall banish poverty from your family in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 11.
  19. You shall move from minimum to maximum. Jesus was born among animals in a manger with swaddling clothes around him. Luke 2 vs 7. This is the humblest of birth, but he ended up being the greatest person that ever lived on earth. It is not your beginning that matters, nor where you are, the power of God shall promote you from the minimum to the maximum.
  20. God will give you space. There was no space for Jesus in the inn. Luke 2 vs 7. Those denying you a space now, shall come back to bow before you in Jesus name.
  21. Prepare for divine visitation. Angels visited Jesus at birth, Luke 2 vs 9. An angel of God shall visit you today and always in Jesus name.
  22. Receive God’s Glory. The glory of God filled the presence of Jesus from birth. Luke 2 vs 9. The glory of God shall overshadow you today and all the days of your life in Jesus name.
  23. God shall deliver you. Herod sought to destroy Jesus from birth. Those seeking your life from birth shall die, the battles of your life from birth, shall expire in Jesus name- Mathew 2 vs 13.
  24. Your Herods shall die. ‘But when Herod was dead’ Mathew 2 vs 19. The powers that want you dead shall die in Jesus name.
  25. Expect divine direction. Jesus was born in Bethlehem- Mathew 2 vs 1; and was taken to Egypt on divine instruction- Mathew 2 vs 13; and later to Nazareth by divine revelation- Mathew 2 vs 22. I pray that your steps shall be directed by God in Jesus name. You shall not walk amiss in Jesus name.
  26. You shall not be stagnant. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon him’. Luke 2 vs 40.
  27. You shall move forward. You shall grow just as Jesus grew. Luke 2 vs 40.
  28. You shall increase. You shall increase in strength just as Jesus increased in strength. Luke 2 vs 40.
  29. You shall be wise. You shall be filled with wisdom just as Jesus was wise. Luke 2 vs 40.
  30. Receive great grace. The grace of Jesus shall be upon you just as Jesus was filled with grace. Luke 2 vs 40.

How to celebrate Christmas

Posted on Updated on

Psalms 84 vs. 2My Soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee –
Psalm 84 vs. 4

For a day in thy courts is better that a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, that to dwell in the tents of wickedness Psalm 84 vs 10

Where is the best place to spend Christmas Day? In a Pub or Club? At Beer parlour or Hotel? At a beach or tourist attraction? With Santa Claus, the famed Father Christmas at his grotto? Is Christmas day best spend visiting friends and relatives or holidaying?

Should we spend Christmas day at Discos or Partying? Or should we spend Christmas day indoors resting, reading, sleeping, winning or dinning, or watching films and movies.

Christmas is the birthday of Jesus and the day is best spent in the presence of the celebrant. Christmas day is a time for sober reflection on the ministry of Jesus Christ, a day for deep meditation of the teachings of the messiah and a day for rededication and recommitment of our lives to him.

The day is therefore best spent in an environment where you can listen and hear the word of God, rejoice with other brethren, praise God for the birth of Jesus and make new vows to God. The Church, which is the sanctuary of God is the best place to spend Christmas day.

The heart of David as revealed in the Psalms quoted above is always longing for the courts of God. In the same way, we must be excited to always be in the presence of God.

David also shows there is a blessing in dwelling in the house of God, praising and worshipping him. Do you wish to receive a blessing this Christmas, then ensure you are in the presence of God on Christmas day.

David also preferred to spend all his life time in the house of God rather than in the tents of wickedness.

If you still visit Pubs, Night clubs, brothels, and worldly parties which are fertile grounds for various sins such as illicit sex, drugs, drunkenness, murder, and profane conversations, then you are dwelling in ‘the tents of wickedness’.

Jesus is the chief and only celebrant on Christmas day. Visit a Church and wish him a happy birthday. He is still alive and plans to shower gifts on you as you come visiting. Jesus is the authentic Father Christmas. Make sure you spend Christmas day with him and you will be blessed indeed.

Prayers.

1. I refuse to spend Christmas day in the tent of the wicked, in Jesus name
2. My legs shall not take me to the path of destruction on Christmas day, in Jesus name.
3. I abort every plan of the devil to take me away from the presence of God on Christmas day, in Jesus name.

Prayer point: My star and glory must shine

Posted on Updated on

  By Pastor Enoch Adeboye
Memorise: “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him” (Matthew 2:11a)

Read: Matthew 2:1-8

birth-of-jesus“And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child: and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also” (Matthew 2:8).

After Jesus was born, some wise men came looking for Him. We want to learn one or two things from this passage. First, the people that came searching for Jesus were no ordinary men. They were the wise men of their day.

In those days, kings depended on the advice of their wise men. These were powerful people who prophesied, explained omens and dark secrets, interpreted dreams and generally practiced divinations. They were well respected and feared by kings because they were of priestly caste.

If a commoner had come to king Herod with the news of the birth of a unique king, he would have laughed it over and gone to sleep. But when these powerful and revered wise men came from a distance with the message, Herod was afraid.

God got his attention through this. He thought, if these powerful priests who were skilled and versed in the study of the stars could leave their country with the intention of worshipping a new born baby king, then, it must be a serious matter. Herod and his men had no rest from the moment the bombshell was delivered.

God knows how to get your attention. Just one unpleasant news is enough to get somebody’s attention. Have you been trying to get somebody’s attention but your efforts never paid off? Is the fellow always complaining of not having time? If you call on the Attention Specialist to intervene, the fellow would suspend everything else just to attend to you.

Whoever has ignored you, your family or desires for so long will have no choice but to attend to you this season in Jesus’ Name. Besides, these honourable wise men decided to see the One the special star announced. There are stars and there are stars. The star announcing Jesus was an unusual one. It was so remarkable that they knew this King was no ordinary king. That He was a child did not matter.

They knew this child was the King of kings. They were determined to go and worship Him: They told king Herod that there is a Super King that kings should worship, and he too promised to do so, although he was not sincere. Are you a king? Are you a man or woman of authority? Then you need to know this King that kings, lords, and great people must worship. If you fail to bow your heart to Jesus, your position or power can be voided.

Go on your knees and worship this Super King for at least one hour.

Christmas sermon on the birth of Jesus Christ: I shall rewrite my family history

Posted on Updated on

Mathew 1 vs 1: The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Mathew 1 vs 17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

  1. There are 42 generations between the Abraham and birth of Jesus, but Jesus was only called the son of two out of his 42 ancestors.
  2. Jesus was called the Son of Abraham and David.
  3. The forty other ancestors were mentioned just in passing, because they were not story changers like Abraham and David.
  4. Why was Jesus referred to as son of David, son of Abraham? Why not son of Josias, and son of Azor, who are part of his ancestors?
  5. It is simply because the history of the ancestry of Jesus Christ changed during the lifetime of Abraham and David

Prayers:

  1. My name, rewrite the history of my generation in Jesus name
  2. My name, redefine the history of my descendants up to the 42nd generation in Jesus name
  3. My name shall be the reference point for my family in Jesus name

Sermon: Essence of Christmas

Posted on Updated on

Matthew 1 vs. 21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from the sins

What is the significance of Christmas?

Jesus is the essence of Christmas, as a matter of fact, the word Christmas is a derivation of the word ‘Christ’. If we are celebrating Christmas, it is therefore important to know and believe in the person after whom the day was named.

As shown in the biblical passage above, Jesus Christ came on a salvage mission, to save mankind from their sins. Christmas should therefore be a time for repentance for those who have not accepted God’s plan of salvation for mankind, and a time for sober reflection and rededication for those all those that have accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Jesus was born about years over 2000 years ago to save you from your sins. The   good news is that his salvation programme did not end over 2000 years ago. He is still alive ready to save you from your sins. God has given a grace of over 2000 years for anyone willing to be saved to come unto him. As Christmas rolls in, it should be a time of remembrance of Gods plan of salvation.

If you do not have Christ in your life, then you be celebrating Christmas without the presence of the Celebrant in your life. Read the rest of this entry »

Sermon on Christmas gifts?

Posted on Updated on

Proverbs 23 vs. 26 – My son, give me thine heart…”

Christmas is a season of gifts, exchanged between friends, associates and relations. The greatest all year shopping takes place at Christmas. Shopping malls, boutiques and markets all record high sales in the days preceding Christmas day.

Millions of people throng shops and stores looking for Christmas gifts to present to others.

As you are preparing to give gifts to your friends, are you also planning to present a gift to God? Have you forgotten God is one of your friends, and also expects a gift from you? Surprising people seem to forget God in their planning and calculations. If you have given or received Christmas gifts this year, but have not yet factored God in your planning it is not too late.

God expects a Christmas gift form us. The Bible says that we are created in the image of God; therefore God has passions and emotions such as we do. What are you planning to give God this year? If you have not planned on this, this is the moment to start planning.

Do not be surprised to know that God is also expecting a Christmas gift from you and me. The scriptures quoted above gifts us an idea of the nature

How do you give God your heart?
1. You give God your heart by obeying his commandments and living by his laws.

2. You give God your heart by serving him with all your strength, power and might.

3. You give God your heart by running away from every appearance of sin such as adultery, fornication, pornography, drug addiction, greed, and covetousness.

4. You give God your heart by joining a local church, worshipping and serving God with other Christians.

5. You give God your heart by placing his matters first above all other things.

6. You give God your heart by reading the Holy Bible and meditating on its contents day and night.

7. You give God your heart by not embarking on any course of action without informing him and seeking his advice.

8. You give God you heart by discussing your plans and anxieties with him in prayers.

9. You give God your heart by refraining from joining or withdrawing your membership of any worldly, satanic and occult association.

10. You give God your heart by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and inviting the Holy Spirit to guide and rule your life.

This Christmas Season, God expects a gift from you. Give God your heart today and make him happy. If you can only do this, he will give you several other gifts you do not expect. Are you ready to give God your heart now? Then say this simple prayer.

Father God, I come before you as a sinner today. I thank you for your son Jesus Christ my Christmas gift for the salvation of my sins. I accept him as my Lord and saviour. I give you my heart today, and invite Jesus to lead my life. Amen.

Why Christians celebrate Christmas?

Posted on Updated on

Luke 2 vs. 11 – For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour is born which is Christ the Lord

1. When God created the earth as recounted in Genesis 1, man was sinless.

2. Man was also supposed to live forever in fellowship with God. But this was based on one simple condition- man must worship God and disobey his commandments.

3. In creating man, God gave man the freewill to decide on his choices, between good and bad, right or wrong.

4. Unfortunately, the first man-Adam, lured by his wife- Eve (acting under the influence of Satan a fallen angel of God) disobeyed God by eating the forbidden fruit in the garden of Even- Genesis 3. God had commanded that both of that must not taste of this fruit.

5. As a result of this sin ( act of disobedience) , man fell from the favour of God, lost the opportunity of living for ever, and came under the dominion of Satan who influenced man to act contrary to God.

6. Since Adam and Eve were the first human beings that were created, every of their offspring (now including you and I) automatically inherited the genetic sinful from them, lost the opportunity of living on earth forever, and also came under the influence and dominion of Satan.

7. Sin became a debt man owned to God, and every man that was being born through a biological process inherited this debt. If let unchecked, man would be under the dominion of God forever. The penalty or punishment to be paid for this sin is death, both physically and spiritually.

8. God is fair, and would not bend rules even in his own case. Though he was saddened by the downfall of man, he had to work out a fair way of redeeming man from his debt.

9. The only person that could pay back this ‘debt’ back to God on behalf of man, and clear man of his sin is someone who is not born through the ancestral line of Adam and Eve, and therefore blameless.

10. No man on the face of earth that biologically descended from Adam and Eve could pay this debt and clear man from the sin of the Garden of Eden.

11. God had to come to earth in human form to perform this redeeming role. Since God was not created or born through a biological process, he alone is sinless and blameless.

12. He caused himself to be divinely born through a virgin woman- Mary outside the natural process of sexual intercourse between a man and a woman.

13. To put in simply, Virgin Mary had spiritual (rather than the human sexual) intercourse with the Holy Spirit thereby empowering Mary to conceive a child. This should not be difficult to understand for anyone if we know and accept the fact that God is the Creator who created the first man through a non biological process.

14. The Holy Spirit is a person, and a form of God. He is invisible and acts for and on behalf of God on earth.

15. To explain further, God manifests in three forms- as God, the father, as God the Holy Spirit, and with the birth of Jesus, as the Son of God. But this is not the subject of discussion here.

16. Jesus Christ is therefore and in fact God in human form.

17. Mary was not only a virgin but was conceived of the Holy Spirit, before the birth of Jesus Christ. Now, sin is naturally inherited through the paternal line, because the man is divinely recognized as the Head of the family. This means a child cannot inherit sin from his mother, but only from the mother.

18. Jesus Christ was therefore born sinless and blameless. A perfect person to carry out the work of canceling the sin of man as inherited from the Garden of Eden.

19. The main reason Jesus was born was therefore to cancel man’s sin and destroy the dominion of Satan who originally lured him into sin over him. To achieve this, God worked it out so that Jesus was wrongly charged and crucified for an offence he did not commit.

The people who committed this act worked under the influence of Satan, the fallen of God who originally caused man to sin, and was hitherto denying man access to God’s benefit. (By using that sin of man as a basis of accusing man before God.)

20. This had two implications. First, by influencing the process of the cruxification of a blameless man, Satan himself committed a sin, and therefore lost the moral basis of continuing accusing man of sin in the Garden of Eden.

Second, there is a spiritual law that the only way of canceling a sin or offence committed against God is by shedding a blood. Before the birth of Jesus, the Israelites made blood sacrifices in order to seek forgiveness of God from their sins. But since this blood was of animals, it was not perfect and could not permanently cleanse mankind of his sins.

21. Because Jesus was a sinless and perfect human being, only his blood became the perfect sacrifice to wipe off the original sin of man; and destroy all the evil works of Satan over man brought about by Satan’s dominion over man.

22. Jesus was therefore born in order to achieve a goal of cleansing man from the originally sin that every man inherited from Adam and Eve, and restored the originally plan of God of ensuring Man lives forever in fellowship with God.

23. It is for this simple reason that Jesus Christ is called a Savior. By his birth and death on the cross, Jesus successfully performed his salvation mission.

24. Now, any man that now wants to be reconciled from his fallen state back to God had to come to Jesus, and use name to get to the God.

25. Jesus is therefore like the visa to heaven- and in this case the only available visa. No other person in history was sent by God to perform this redeeming mission. Jesus is the ticket to God. He is the Key to the gates of Heaven. He is the power of God over every satanic dominion on earth. He is the Saviour.

26. As the world marks and celebrate Christmas, the birth of Jesus every one must know why Jesus was born. And the big question is have you availed yourself the golden opportunity of becoming reconciled to God through Jesus Christ?

27. Here are simple steps you should take now to achieve this:

· Repent of any known or unknown sins. Repentance means regretting the sins and deciding not to commit the sins again.

· Tell Jesus Christ that you believe his salvation mission and ask Jesus Christ the saviour to cleanse these sins away by his

precious blood.

· Ask God to forgive you of these sins and accept you back as his son.

· Tell the Holy Spirit, the form of God on earth to come and guide your life in holiness henceforth.

· Congratulations! You are now a born again- a child of God.

· To build your relationship with God, start attending a local Christian church where you will listen to the word of God and share experiences with other Christian.

· Get a copy of the Holy Bible and read more about God and his plans for you.
· Talk to God in prayer.

Sermon: How to celebrate Christmas?

Posted on Updated on

John 3 vs. 16 – For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life.

Have you done the traditional Christmas shopping and have bought clothes for the kids.

Christmas is a time of fun, entertainment, merry making, relaxation, and festivities.

No matter how you are planning to spend the Christmas, it is important to remember the reason for the celebration. Jesus Christ is the author of Christmas as the day is a remembrance of his birthday.

Your 2006 Christmas celebrations will not be complete and will in fact be meaningless if you do not know and discover the reason for the celebration.

How would you feel if someone marks your birthday and forgets to wish you the celebrant a happy birthday? Jesus is the celebrant and one important thing you must do this 2006 Christmas is to understand his ministry and accept his call for your salvation.

Jesus Christ was sent by God to save the world for its sins. He was crucified on the cross shedding his precious blood as a sacrificial offering for the remission offering of the sins of mankind. The only thing God expects of you is to believe in him, and accept his plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.

This 2006 Christmas must not end without you believing in Christ, the subject of Christmas. Open your heart to him today and he will fill you with everlasting joy ensuring that everyday, not only the 25th of December is a Christmas in your life.

If you want to be saved this Christmas, say this simple prayer.

Father God, I thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ to save me from my sins. I believe in him and accept him as my Lord and Saviour. I repent of my sins and pray that the blood of Jesus wash them away now. I am saved by the blood of Jesus this 2006 Christmas. Amen.

Are you planning to send gifts to friends and relations this season? Are you also expecting to receive form love ones. Let me ask another question – Do you know that God also gives Christmas gifts to his children? What is the purpose and essence of Christmas?

Posted on Updated on

Essence of Christmas

For God so loved the word that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting lifeJohn 3 vs 16

  1. Jesus gave his life; your Christmas celebration will not be complete if you don’t give your life to Jesus this season. As a matter of fact, this is the most important thing you should do.
  2. Jesus gave his life, remember to lessen the burden of someone this season. Give a gift to a widow, orphan, stranger, or a poor family.
  3. Jesus gave his life, remember to honour your parents this season. Give them a precious gift and make them happy for bringing you to the world.
  4. Jesus gave his life, remember to appreciate your Pastors this season. They labour over you in prayers and counselling throughout the year, and all we tell them is ‘God bless you’. I will be happy if someone chooses to be used by God to bless me this season.
  5. Jesus gave his life, remember your children this Christmas. Their Christmas clothes must manifest in Jesus name.
  6. Jesus gave his life, remember to appreciate your spouse this season. Buy him or her a merry xmas gift.
  7. Jesus gave his life, if you are privileged to have a good boss, remember to appreciate him. This is a sure way of keeping your job and getting promoted in the workplace before next Christmas. Bosses should also remember to give their workers Christmas packages as deemed fit.

Receive your Christmas blessings in Jesus name

What is the true essence of Christmas?

Posted on Updated on

Matthew 1 vs. 21: And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for he shall save his people from the sins.

In the next couple of weeks, Christians will mark the birthday of Jesus Christ, on what is popularly known as Christmas day.

Jesus was born about 2007 years ago to save you from your sins. The good news is that his salvation programme did not end 2007 years ago. He is still alive ready to save you from your sins. God has given a grace of 2007 years for anyone willing to be saved to come unto him. As Christmas rolls in, it should be a time of remembrance of Gods plan of salvation.

If you do not have Christ in your life, then you be celebrating Christmas without the presence of the Celebrant in your life.

The essence of Christmas is therefore to accept Christ, the celebrant into your life and invite him to dine with you for the rest of your life. The good news is that there is a greater Christmas in heaven, a Christmas whose celebration do not end in a day. Only the redeemed can participate in this everlasting Christmas.

To register your name as a redeemed, repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord, and live a life of complete holiness. Make this confession:

Jesus Christ, I welcome you to my life as this Christmas, I accept God’s plan of salvation through you and accept you as my Lord and Saviour. Come into me and rule me in Jesus name i pray. (Amen).

Christmas: Jesus as Light of the World

Posted on Updated on

John 8 vs. 12

I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Are you for Christmas light? There is a light that illuminates not only your homes but your lire. There is a light that would be useful for you not only during the Christmas season but throughout the year.

Jesus says he is the light of the world. This is a powerful self testimony from a person whose birth causes the world to stand still on the 25th of December of every year, and whose message changed the destiny of the whole world.

When Jesus calls himself the light of the world, what does it means?
1. It means, he is the only one and only through his name could anyone overcome all works of darkness such as sickness, crime, wars, assassinations, sins, abortions, homosexuality, and greed.

2. It means he is the person that gives you life, and if you reject him, you will become a victim of Satan.

3. Jesus is the light of the world, because only belief in his name can guarantee you a place in heaven, otherwise you are doomed to darkness which symbolizes hell.

The everlasting light of this world is calling you to salvation this Christmas. As you decorate your homes and offices with Christmas lights that shine and blinkers, it is also more important that you decorate your life with the light of light that never fades or dims.

Jesus is the Christmas light. The best decision you can made in your life is to invite him to your life. There are countless testimonies of his works of wonders in the life of people that have accepted him and invited him to light their lives.

If you have not accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, then you are still walking in darkness. But you can decide to change now by saying this simple prayer.

Jesus, I acknowledge you as the Christ, the messiah who was born to set me from my sins. I accept you as my Lord and Saviour today and invite your light to come into my life this Christmas in Jesus name. I am born again in Jesus name.

Prayers.
1. Light of God, brighten my life now in Jesus name.
2. Every darkness in my life, fade away by the power in the name of Jesus.
3. I withdraw my life from the path of darkness unto light in Jesus name.

Christmas: How best to celebrate christmas

Posted on Updated on

Psalms 84 vs. 2

My Soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee –Psalm 84 vs. 4

For a day in thy courts is better that a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, that to dwell in the tents of wickedness –Psalm 84 vs10

The Birth of Jesus

Posted on Updated on

Matthew 1 vs. 20 – But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

  1. Jesus was a special child
  2. He was not born of the union of man and woman, but of the union of woman and the Holy Ghost
  3. This is one of the reasons why he was filled with the Holy Ghost, because though he was a son of David, but he was an offspring of the Holy Ghost.
  4. The good news is that the Holy Ghost is also with us now, and all Christians can also be filled up with the Holy Ghost and do the works he did

Holy Ghost, fill me up in Jesus name

Christmas shopping ideas

One of the notable features of Christmas is the act of giving and receiving gifts. Several days before Christmas, gifts in forms of cards, hampers, and souvenirs are exchanged among workers, friends, relations, and associates. Boxing day, the day after Christmas day is particularly set aside for the exchange of gifts among loved ones.

Trading and Shopping is at its peak during the Christmas season. Shopping malls, boutiques and markets usually have the highest year sales in the days preceding Christmas.

Are you planning to send gifts to friends and relations this season? Are you also expecting to receive form love ones. Let me ask another question – Do you know that God also gives Christmas gifts to his children? Have you ever received a Christmas gift from God? Are you expecting a gift for God, your heavenly father.

These questions may look unusual. How would God give a Christmas gift, you may wonder? The truth is that God gives Christmas gifts and I had experienced this before.

Some years ago, I was unexpectedly paid a bonus in the month of December in my working place. I had not requested for the payment and it was not the policy of the organization to pay the bonus. I initially wanted to request an explanation on why I was paid the bonus, but the Holy Spirit restrained me reminding me that that is my Christmas gift! God can caused you to be blessed anyhow.

Since then, I have come to believe strongly that God gives Christmas gifts, and every Christmas season I usually request a gift from God. And God never fails to give me something in such a way that it would be obvious to me that it is a divine Christmas gift.

God is a giver of Christmas gift. If you have not yet known him by this title, you have been missing gifts. If you have never received a gift form him, ask now. He is waiting to present gifts to his children.

But before you can ask and receive a gift form God, you have to have a relationship with him. And this starts by accepting his plan for the salvation of the whole world through the Jesus, the greatest gift to mankind.

Jesus says, Verily, Verily I say unto you, unless you are born again, thou shalt not see the kingdom of God. Are you born again? Have you surrendered your life to Jesus?

Father, I come unto you today, just as I am. I confess my sins and repent of them. I pray that you forgive me and wash me clean by the blood of Jesus. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I invite the Holy Spirit to rule my life in Jesus name. (Amen)

Christmas messages: Why was Jesus born?

Posted on Updated on

Luke 2 vs. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour is born which is Christ the Lord –

  1. When God created the earth as recounted in Genesis 1, man was sinless.
Should Christians celebrate Christmas?

(Matthew 1:21, NIV).“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins”

I was coming home from my working place that day when I saw a place full of celebration. A brewery company is organizing a Christmas show. Beer and all sorts of alcoholic drinks were free for every one that attended the show.

The place was full of young men and women and even some elderly ones that came to enjoy the show. There was no place for Christ – the reason for Christmas – in the show for it was organized to promote the products of the brewery company.

As I was passing by the place, I was thinking within me of all the funs that normally accompany the Christmas season. Why are we doing all these funs?

Are they purposely for Jesus Christ? Have we not turned the season to a season to gratify our selfish desires? It is good that a period of the year is set aside to celebrate His birth. Do we really focus on Jesus Christ who is the reason for Christmas? Read the rest of this entry »

  • Everyday we should celebrate Jesus.
  • Biblically there is no day set aside to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
  • Christmas celebration is not for eating and drinking alone.
  • There are many miracles associated with the birth of Jesus such as precious giving, angelic visitation, and favour.
  • Christmas season is the time to pray down the miracles of God to manifest in your life.

Christians worship Jesus

Verily, verily I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber” John 10:1

Various religions in the world acknowledge the fact that there is a sovereign God, but only Christianity acknowledges the sonship, messiahship, and Lordship of Jesus Christ.

One common error among most people is to group together all religions that believe in the existence of a Sovereign God regardless of whether or not they believe in the name of Jesus Christ.

It is common to hear people say there is no difference between Islam and Christianity because both religions believe in a Sovereign God-Allah for the former and Jehovah for the latter.

It is also common for people to practice two religions together at the same time. For instance you find a Christian also practicing some form of traditional religions. It must be clearly understood that all this belief and practice is a spirit of error. Read the rest of this entry »

Bible study: qualities of Virgin Mary

Posted on Updated on

“…God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you.’” Luke 1:26-28

The Christmas season for the year has come and gone. Regardless of the debate of some people that Christmasis not “Christian,” let me draw out a lesson from one of the personalities of the biblical stories related to the season.

The Virgin Mary was the second most important personality in the Nativity stories. God specially used her to be the vessel of the delivery of the Baby Jesus.

The virgin birth of the Messiah had been prophesied hundreds of years before it actually happened (see Isaiah 7:14). There were many virgins in Israel during the time of Mary.

She was highly favoured to be the mother of our Saviour. However, some qualities in her distinguished her from all virgins and women of her time. She was pious. She was virtuous. She was humble. She was faithful. She was not doubtful. She was ready to be an instrument in the hands of God, even when it seemed that such readiness would bring possible rejection from her fiancé and disgrace from the society. No wonder, she was highly favoured and blessed (see Luke 1:28, 48). Read the rest of this entry »
