What is Gods purpose for my life?

Memorise: “Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you” (1 Pet 1:10)

Read: 2 Kings 5:1-5

In 2 Kings 5:2-4, a slave girl was brought into Naaman’s house from Israel. She was a young girl. Although the pains of being separated from parents, friends and loved ones could not be avoided, yet she overcame them fast. She paused to ask herself: “Why me?There are grown adults who could have been more effective even as a slave in a foreign land. But why was I the one taken in their recent raid on Israel?” She frequently pondered on this while she did her domestic chores. Then one day, she mistakenly stumbled on her master – Naaman, going through his depressive mood flanked by his wife and others. They were trying to comfort him after trying a fresh set of treatment that failed to yield any positive result.

She took interest, probed further and got to know that he was a leper. In Syria, it was believed that leprosy was an incurable illness. No leper had any hope of healing.

The slave girl withdrew herself and got thinking. She recalled how in Israel some sick people had an encounter with the prophet of God and were healed. And how other miraculous events had taken place in the lives of individuals, families and the nation through God’s power. Then she wondered why Naaman had not gone to Israel to try God. It was then it occurred to her that God could have brought her through slavery into Naaman’s house to be the link to his miracle! ‘

That’s it!’ She screamed. From that moment, she understood that she was on a divine assignment to connect this lord with his miracle. She did not waste time before telling her mistress that if only they could go to prophet Elisha, Naaman would be healed. When they sent for her, she confirmed it even before the king. She was a link to Naaman’s blessing. Do you know that you are a link to someone’s blessings?

In fact, if you can take your eyes from the negative aspect of your placement or predicament and ask God why He allowed you to be in that situation, you will discover God’s purpose and fulfil it.

God might have denied you a particular request just because He wants you to remain where you are and link somebody connected to your destiny with his or her blessing. Have you discovered those you are meant to link to their blessing? Go ahead and be the link. If not, ask God to show you.

The situation today may be unpleasant. Be expectant of a pleasant tomorrow.
