|Memorise: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (Jas 1:22)Read: 1 Samuel 30:7-10|
|“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” (James 1:22). After you receive an instruction from God, do it. When God asked David to pursue his enemies in 1 Samuel 30:7-10, he immediately mobilized his men and gave the looters a hot chase. In John 2:1-11, after the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus instructed the ushers at the marriage party to do whatsoever Jesus told them. If David had delayed in pursuing the enemies, he might not have recovered all. Most of our losses are recoverable. But most of such losses have become permanent because we failed to ask God how to go about recovering them, or after receiving an instruction, we delayed in implementation. It is dangerous to delay in obeying the Lord. Some of us argue too much. God is not someone you should be arguing with. He does not have the time to waste. If you are fond of arguing whenever God gives you an instruction, He will leave you alone. Every loss has a strategy for recovery. All you have to do is consult the loss recovery specialist – the Great Restorer.
The enemy will not allow you to recover or possess your possession without a struggle. You must be battle ready. This is where many fail. They start the fight but retire on the way to recovery. Fight for what is yours. You have the Lion of the Tribe of Judah on your side.
Some years ago, while returning from Ilesha, Nigeria, we were hit by a young man at a junction and the vehicle dragged into a pit. But when we shouted ‘Jesus’, the bus stopped. When some policemen later came to the scene, they blamed the driver for reckless driving. But when the latter had a tete-a-tete with them and told them he was the driver of a popular chief, they laughed and began to accuse us falsely. Then the lion in me arose. I pointed him to the RCCG logo on the car and told him, “Officer, in life, there is always a last assignment for one to do.
Do you want this to be your last assignment?” ‘No’ he replied and began to blame the true offender again. Never give room to the devil. Never entertain fear. Fight to see that God’s Word is fulfilled in your life. In the Name of Jesus, every strong man or woman assigned against your progress has performed the last assignment in your life.
|Father, turn the last attack of my oppressors into their last assignment now.
