Babatope Babalobi

  1. He was a covenant child.

1 Samuel 1 vs. 11And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

      2. He’s from God. His name means have asked him from the Lord.

1 Samuel 1 vs. 20 – Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the LORD.

        3. He was a Minster of the Lord from childhood.

1 Samuel 2 vs. 18 – But Samuel ministered before the LORD, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

      4. He grew up in the presence of the Lord.

1 Samuel 2 vs. 21 – And the LORD visited      Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD

       5. He had the favour of God and that of men

1 Samuel 2 vs. 26And the child Samuel grew on, and was in favour both with the LORD, and also with men.

      6. He was a faithful Priest.

1 Samuel 2 vs. 35And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever.

      7. He was loyal to his master Eli.

1 Samuel 3 vs. 1 – And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

       8. God spoke directly to Samuel; he had the voice of God.

1 Samuel 3 vs. 4, 21 – 4. That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. 21. And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD

       9. He was a Prophet.

1 Samuel 3 vs. 20 – And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD

      10. He was anointed; his words never fell to the ground.

1 Samuel 3 vs. 19 – And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

Holy Spirit, make me the Samuel of this generation in Jesus name.
