Sermon on restoration:I will do a new thing-Isaiah 43:19
|PASTOR ENOCH ADEBOYE|
|memorise: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Is 43:19)
Read: Isaiah 43:18-21
|Thanking God for great things He has done could be easy, but thanking Him when things seem not to work out can be difficult. Yet, that is what separates the thankful from the unthankful. In one year, a sister lost her job, lost her car to thieves and her flat to fire.
Yet during the new year’s eve, she praised God more than anyone else. When asked what she was praising God for, considering all the misfortunes of the year, she said she was praising God that in spite of everything that the enemies tried, she was still alive.
Thank God for your life. Thank Him for all He has delivered you from since the year began. Do you remember to thank God in those situations the devil and your flesh would want you to do otherwise?
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). The Lord has promised to do a new thing. The new thing God is about to do in your life shall not be delayed. He will make rivers in your desert. When a man gets promoted to a new level, everything becomes new.
There will be a new title, office, privileges, blessings, language, joy, victory, etc. It was after I bought my car that I discovered that car owners have their language. They will say, “How is your car performing?” However, a new thing can mean different things to different people. If you get promoted to the post of a manager, that means you are the new boss. It is equally a new experience for your subordinates as they will be receiving new orders, instructions and direction from their new boss.
A new thing can be positive or negative depending on which divide you belong. For instance, in Exodus 14:21-28 , when God parted the Red Sea, it was a new thing. The Israelites experienced this as a new way to total freedom. But to Pharaoh and his men, it was a new way for total destruction. When God says to His children He will do a new thing, it means you will move to a level of freedom you have never known before. It also means that God is about to surprise your enemies beyond recovery. The Lord is starting a new thing in your life, family, business, and ministry. Are you prepared for it?
