Sermon on restoration:I will do a new thing-Isaiah 43:19

Posted on Updated on

memorise: “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Is 43:19)

Read: Isaiah 43:18-21

Thanking God for great things He has done could be easy, but thanking Him when things seem not to work out can be difficult. Yet, that is what separates the thankful from the unthankful. In one year, a sister lost her job, lost her car to thieves and her flat to fire.

Yet during the new year’s eve, she praised God more than anyone else. When asked what she was praising God for, considering all the misfortunes of the year, she said she was praising God that in spite of everything that the enemies tried, she was still alive.

Thank God for your life. Thank Him for all He has delivered you from since the year began. Do you remember to thank God in those situations the devil and your flesh would want you to do otherwise?

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” (Isaiah 43:19). The Lord has promised to do a new thing. The new thing God is about to do in your life shall not be delayed. He will make rivers in your desert. When a man gets promoted to a new level, everything becomes new.

There will be a new title, office, privileges, blessings, language, joy, victory, etc. It was after I bought my car that I discovered that car owners have their language. They will say, “How is your car performing?” However, a new thing can mean different things to different people. If you get promoted to the post of a manager, that means you are the new boss. It is equally a new experience for your subordinates as they will be receiving new orders, instructions and direction from their new boss.

A new thing can be positive or negative depending on which divide you belong. For instance, in Exodus 14:21-28 , when God parted the Red Sea, it was a new thing. The Israelites experienced this as a new way to total freedom. But to Pharaoh and his men, it was a new way for total destruction. When God says to His children He will do a new thing, it means you will move to a level of freedom you have never known before. It also means that God is about to surprise your enemies beyond recovery. The Lord is starting a new thing in your life, family, business, and ministry. Are you prepared for it?

Ask God for sweeping positive changes in your life, family and local church this season.

Your new thing explanation is true and refreshing.
The reason Why the church asked the lady about praising God in the midst of tragedy and loss,it’s because we were born in sin.Everything in life however hi-tech or advance it maybe, according to God it is sin.
That’s why the scriptures warns us ‘friendship with the world is enemity with God ,that’s why the gospel is preach and there is a call to repentance in every area of our lives so that the glamour and spleandour we receive should be that of God.philipians4:8
I never knew this until I had lost my job in a most glamorous world of advertising as art director and what appeared to be a dream come true situation until I discovered total freedom from slavery in my two year period of being unemployed .
As a reward for my repentance ,God gave me a jacob idea as in genesis to build 3 luxury rental apartments in that space of two years of unemployment.i.e every R5.000.00 rand I made part time I would begin to invest in building foundations etc. which brought all kinds of scary opposition from enemies with mighty position in society just like in nehemiah ‘s days.
Guess what? It’s now been a 7 months of me reaping the rewards of repentance.
The lesson here is that the lady who lost the flat was so much deep in sin to a point that God moved in her behalf via his devine love for her.
Now the lady must be ready to receive glorious ideas from heaven that would move her away from sin to’s all sprinkled through out Isaiah, jeremiah, ezekiel, joel, haggai and zeccariah that every christian should dwell in mountainous valley estates undisturbed by the sons of unrighteosness.that’s God’s will. Remember lot was tortured daily by the wicked in what they do and say.
James1:17 every good gift comes from the father of celestial lights.
Notice that the good we long for does’nt come from people and jobs but God of lights.
Promotion comes from God -psalm 75:7
after repentance we will resent following crowds but we will wake up longing to lay at the feet of jesus regardless of our concerns.
