Sermons on open doors

Memorise: “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion’ (Proverbs 28: 1)

Read: Exodus 2:11-15

The one who has an appointment with God is on the verge of rapid changes. One divine appointment successfully kept triggers off series of greater ones. The morning Moses took the sheep to graze in the desert and encountered the burning bush, was a regular day just like today.

He woke up a fugitive having fled for his life the past 40 years. The threat of Pharaoh haunted him that long. Some of us are fugitives within our nation. Like Jacob, the ills of the past has kept you from returning home.

Or it could be for fear of some strong man or woman capable of destroying you. Ever since you left home, you have been on the run. Whenever you have to visit your village or town unavoidably, you sneak in at night and sneak out before dawn. From today, you will run no more in Jesus name.

After Moses encountered God in the desert, he stopped running. The one who terrorized him was put at his mercy. From today all those who have been chasing you with charms at your home or place of work will be at your mercy.

Besides, Moses was a write-off. He was forgotten. All his dreams were crushed, his hopes dashed and his ambition to excel having graduated from the Egyptian University some 40 years before, was forgotten. As far as Pharaoh was concerned, Moses was history – never to resurface. But God remembered Moses and initiated that appointment.

Are you discouraged, threatened and afraid? Have you been running from city to city, country to country but never able to succeed in life? Have you become frustrated by the unpleasant events of life? Does it appear having tried all but failed, you have now come to the end of the road without an inkling of what your next step should be?

Moses was at that bus stop before you. With an appointment with God, Moses became a brand new man with a new vision, mission, hope and aspiration. Have you wasted several years like Moses? The Lord will restore every good thing you have lost.

Your unused academic degrees or certificates will be useful from today. Today will mark the beginning of real life, joy, ministry and success for you in Jesus name. Don’t give up. Your change is at the door. Cleave to the God of change and submit to Him, worship and obey Him.

Bind and paralyze the spirit of fear operating in your life.

Ask God for strength to confront your fear.
