You cannot measure God's blessing solely by material/monetary blessings. Sure, Americans (and many people across the world) eat and clothe themselves better, but many are spiritually dead and/or follow false religions. I consider a true born-again Christian to be blessed than anyone.

I visited a very poor leper colony in India. All these lepers were born-again Christians but guess what? They didn't have enough food to eat but had huge smiles on their faces because they knew they had inherited eternal life and would live forever with Jesus Christ. I consider these lepers to be more blessed than all the billionaires and millionaires of the world combined.

This earth and whatever in it is temporary, but the Word of God will last forever an ever.

Thank you Scavenger for your comments.

If Isaiah 19 is to be taken as a prophetic chapter against Idolatry, they I dont believe it should refer to the African Continent alone, because the scale of idolatry in other continents like in Asia is deeper than in the African continent.

There is no continent that does not have an Idolatrous past, and Africans more than any other race have turned to God in recent decades.

Even the ancestors of Abraham, the father of faith were Idolators, yet God still brought out Abraham, blessed his offsprings, and through his geanelogy the Messiah was born.

Isaiah 19 cannot probably refer to the African continent. My advice to Jess is that if God thro your dream told you to study Isaiah 19, and you are having problems understanding the passage, you should ask the Holy Spirit, to give you an understanding of the passage.

Africa is no more blessed or cursed than Africa. It is a completely erroneous assumption that invalidates the Psalmists prophecy that all nations that forget God shall be turned into hell.To make America Gods "favourite" or more deserving of blessing than Africa is to promote racism, prejudice and intolerance, and a certain white racial smugness, whose only product is Pharisaism, not repentance.

Dr Tayo Babalobi,

I'm writing to you to tell how I stumbled across your website about Isaiah 19. I had this dream early this morning about Isaiah 19. In my dream God told me that He vows a thousand times for every promise He gives out. He urged me to read Isaiah 19. I woke up from this dream with such a heavy desire to read Isaiah 19, so I did. I didn't really understand because the only time the chapter mentions a vow is in Isaiah 19:21, but it seemed out of context with my dream. So I put my Bible away and went about my day.

Later, I was thinking about this email I had received from a friend. It talks about how we (Americans) are VERY blessed compared to those in Africa. I have been thinking about this email now for days and I started to wonder....why are we (Americans) blessed from birth into a nicer world? Is Africa cursed? Why? So I went online and I googled "Is Africa cursed" and it took me to your website....there it was again...ISAIAH 19!!

So I started to think about what God had told me in my dream....He said that He vows a thousand times for every promise He give out. What does this mean? How does it apply? Are things going to get better in Africa?

I tell you these things because maybe you can help me....if you have any insight at all, please write back.

Thank you,

With His Love,

Jess
